I found a house on VRBO with great reviews and the price is great too. I wonder how far IT REALLY IS from Disney. It just says close by. The reviews say it is close to the parks. That of course could mean any of the big parks. Thanks!!

It's about 10-15 minutes from the parks. I haven't stayed there but I pass it all the time.

This particular home does not have a private pool but its close to the clubhouse pool and it is ONLY 79 a night for 4 br 3.5 bath. I am thinking we can live without a private pool as long as it is not too far from Disney. We have only stayed off site once staying at Windsor Hills. I think that is much closer.

I stayed there last year with my family and enjoyed it. I found it quiet and comfortable. If you don't mind driving 10-15 to a park, then it's a great value. The traffic isn't bad either.

We usually stay at WH or IC but I'm gonna check out these palces too! They're on the other end of Kissimmee but if it's cheaper that's what we need this time :)

Looks like 7 Dwarves would take 20-25 minutes with to the parks...WH and IC spolis us with only 7-10 minute drives!

I stayed there two years ago with my husband and then 3 month old. It was a poor choice for us at the time. I wanted to be able to return to the home once or twice a day to avoid the heat/rest with the baby. The drive seemed to take forever . . . many stoplights to go through, traffic was always backed up. I remember seeing the Target on the way "home" thinking we were almost there but it seemed to take an additional ten minutes to get in the resort, get to our door.

The community itself was nice enough. Somewhat confusing to navigate but lots of nice walk spaces around. Security was good.

I think I just didn't have realistic expectations of what it would feel like to be stuck in traffic, trying to navigate into the parks and having a fussy baby. It just didn't make sense to go back numerous times in a day. So after the first couple of days, we just spent our "down times" in the parks baby care center.

That was my first time off property so I had nothing to compare it to. I have since stayed in Indian Creek and found that location much more convenient and was surprised how quickly I could get onto Disney property from there.

I suppose time of year and time of day would affect traffic patterns/perception of how long and far it takes. In other words, beyond mileage . . .time plays in.

eh. we stayed there last year. you cld probably do better. it was very petty.

ie. the owners had signs all over not to do this, or that, etc. They had no paper towels, no toilet paper, locks on closets. It was weird.

It all depends on who you rent from! The house we prefer to stay at in IC is much nicer than any other rentals we've stayed in at Windsor Hills or anywhere else(for what we pay).

I stayed there the last three times I visited. It's relatively close to the parks (the closest being AK - a 10 to 15-minute drive without traffic - but not enough for me to encourage leaving the parks for a break in the afternoon).

I didn't have any problems and/or restrictions in the house itself, but it all depends on the owner, I've heard in some units they even control the AC temperature (crazy, right?).

It's a great option if you rent a non-stingy nice owner's house, and you're on a budget - we were able to have breakfast there and pack snack bags and picnic lunches to the parks, which helped us save quite a lot of money.

We have stayed there and LOVED. We are a family with 3 DS and 1 DD and usually travel with DD's BFF. As a family of 7 our options to be budget friendly are limited but these Villas at Seven Dwarf Lanes exceeded our expections. It was big enough that 5 teens had room to relax. We went through VRBO and had a great owner. TV's in every bedroom was also a bonus. The pool and clubhouse were very clean and a short walk from the unit we had. The complex was fenced and we felt very safe. It was great to have a kitchen that was fully stocked as it made meal prep easy and much less expensive then eat out every meal. Driving to WDW was easy and quick. I think the longest morning commute was 20 minutes-ish. However, we did not leave the parks for a mid day break. I would ABSOLUTLY stay there again - if I choose to do off site again.
