Going on our first DC in April and we currently plan on staying in the Holiday Inn Express. We are driving down Monday night checking in Tuesday and leaving to the port on Thursday. Can anyone tell me how close or far the hotel is from the beach? Is it within walking distance? I will have my 4 kids with me and the youngest will be just under 2yo. I would like to keep the cost around $150 a night. TIA!

There are no hotels within walking distance of the Port, but many of them have shuttles. You are driving down so where are you leaving your car? If you park at the port, it is a garage just across the street. There are also many lots with shuttles.

I mean walking distance to the beach. Did I say port? ooops. :)

We will or plan to park at the port for $60 for 3 days.

The Holiday Inn Express, Cocoa Beach? This is within walking distance to the beach, also a few restaurants, gift shops, a Publix Grocery (right next door) and the Cocoa Beach Spa. I believe a Dunkin' Donuts too. You do have to cross a main street to get to the beach. I believe four lanes but there is a crossing light. I didn't have any trouble. This is a good location for not being directly on the beach.

The Holiday Inn Express is super nice there. My favorite port hotel. It is walking distance to the beach. There is a busy road to cross though. It's clean with a pleasant staff and shuttle service. You're aware they do park and cruise, right?
