Garden Grocer

For those of you who have had garden grocer deliver to your resort - how far in advance should you order? Also how does the delivery go? Does someone need to be present in the room to receive the delivery or will Disney bring it to your room for you? We are planning to stay at the Pop Century resort. Thanks in advance for any advice :)

I ordered sometime in the few days before we left. If you are going at a very busy time such as Christmas, I would place the order earlier as they do cut off delivery when they get very crowded.

Have it shipped to your resort around the time you expect to land (if you are driving, about an hour or so before you expect to arrive). Bell services will accept your delivery, (you add your tip to the total bill), they will refrigerate any perishables and then bring it to your room when you are settled in (of course you tip again). It's very easy and a huge $ saver in terms of water bottles and breakfast items and snacks.

No one needed to be present for us. We ordered a couple weeks out, and everything was delivered to the resort, and as PP noted, Bell services dropped it off for us when we called and said we were available.

Generally, an awesome experience.

I usually order a few weeks prior and always have to call and add a few things a couple days before. you don't have to be present. Your hotel typically will keep the stuff in cold storage that needs to be there and you just call for it when you get to your room.

All of our luggage was stolen prior to arriving on our last trip. I ordered when we arrived, because it was a busy time for them, they delivered the day after. So I ordered late on Saturday and received my stuff midday Monday (or something like that).

We liked the service. We had ordered milk and the bell desk kept the milk in the fridge. The prices were decent.

I have always ordered a week so in advance. For my short trip coming up, I have already started putting my cart what I want.

On their site right now, it says they are not taking anymore orders for February 23, 24 or 25.

I like to order 3 weeks in advance to get my date and preferred time. This past trip I didn't put the order in until 2 weeks ahead and my date was already sold out.

I like to have the delivery arrive ahead of our arrival, so it's there at the resort when we check in.

Last year we ordered 3-4 weeks in advance. I would recommend the same if you are visiting during a busy week/time of year. They do run out of delivery times frequently a day or two before or during holiday weekends.

Our order arrived early, and was stored properly at our Marriott resort till we arrived. I even received a text when it was delivered. I paid for the tip ahead of time for this reason. No issues, everything I ordered was included no damage. The produce was great. I plan on placing an order for our trip this year as well.

how much for a tip to GG and how much for the bell service for holding it for you?!?!:confused3

1-2 weeks out for a normal trip.
2-3 weeks out if you are going during peak/holiday season (like xmas, spring break, etc.)

I've never been present when GG delivered. I ask for a time about 1/2 hour before we expect to get to the resort, so that once we check in we ask bell services to bring it on up. We did have to be in the room when bell services brought it up.

So, you don't have to be in your room to accept delivery? Do they always drop off at Bell Services, or do they call and ask to see where you want it delivered, room or bell services?

How late do they deliver. An do they deliver every day? We are arriving Sunday night with our flight landing around 8. Just wondering of I will be able to arrange delivery around then or if I should wait and have it delivered the next day.

We ordered from them on our last trip. It was a great service. Bell services will hold on to your items and can keep stuff cool as well. We just called bell services once we got to our room and they delivered it to us.
I'm sure if you email them they will let you know what their latest delivery slot is.
They will ask you to send ID confirmation if you are buying alcohol.

We are arriving on Sunday and I asked for delivery between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. I think there is an 8-10 slot, too, but not positive. It is a selection that you make when you place your order.

My order arrived about 30 minutes before we actually got to the resort. They stored the groceries till we arrived. You do not need to be there. They have scheduled delivery times you can select around your schedule.

I've ordered the last few times from wegoshop since I also like to add alcohol to my food request ;) Can I do the same with gardengrocer?
Thanks.

Yes, I have both times I have ordered from them.... Beer and wine.

How do they handle Id if you order beer or wine?

I e-mailed a scan of my driver's license to them. They also provided a fax number to use. I liked doing the e-mail because I got an e-mail back stating that they had received it and I was good to go. I hope my DH's alcohol is there when we arrive on Sunday!
