(3X Update & FINAL!! 3/24)*~*EVERYBODY DANCE NOW!*~*A Mother/Daughter Feb 2013 TR!

We interrupt this TR for the flu. It started Wednesday night with Savannah, hit us all by Thursday/Friday and we are STILL sick (Sunday). Horrible fevers and body aches, luckily no pukies, but it's really miserable with all 5 of us sick for this long. Work has been slow, but starting back up a bit tomorrow, so I HAVE to get better! I'll get back to updating soon. Promise!

Don't worry about updating, Karen. Just get yourself and your family feeling better! (and this is coming from the update pusher!!!)

I'm late to the party so don't mind a fellow rambler :cool1:
Okay You so do NOT look almost 40!!Oh wow i want savannahs hair its beautiful n I'm jealous!
Aew I feel bad that she was so nervous for the flight:sad1:
Oh i love Pop its one of my faves in the values its tied with AS Sports but that may change once I hit AOA.
See that room on the ground floor to the left of the Mickey phone that was my room in 2006.
Awe that motherdaughter sign you made for ur window is precious I need that for my May trip with my 7 yr old,I've gotta figure out how to make one.
OOOOOHHHHHHH see that giraffes nose/snout it has an orange hidden mickey how cool is that?
:eek:I swear everyone gets to see Brer Rabbit except me
Oh how I hope i get into Be Our guest without any issues.
I'd rather hang at DTD than ride test track too BUT if that was a Soarin fastpass no way would I have left at all.

Feel better Karen! :( No fun!

The flu is vicious this year!!!! Least it hit AFTER your trip!!!

Can you believe that we STILL have not yet eaten at Earl of Sandwich???? Your meal there sounds really good!

It took me 5 trips to get there, I kept planning on it and then not going! I think b/c you think it's "just" a sandwich place, and end up doing something else. Well, it IS a sandwich place, but a VERY good one! We really enjoyed it! :thumbsup2

I don't know who these update-pushers are, but they have you on a roll! I somehow got like, 3 chapters behind! Wompwompwomp!

So I totally looooved the Little Mermaid attraction, as did Matt. I know it's just a dark ride but I thought it was so well-done! Fortunately, Matt was nice about me taking photos, haha, and I got one that is by far my best attraction photo I took during the trip... which you will see later, promise! I think with the new rollercoaster it's a great addition to Fantasland!

Anyway, true story, and you will see this. I have a very very similar photo to the one you took of Gaston's Tavern/the fountain, haha.. like the same angle!

Your MK afternoon was SO dead, you really did pick an awesome day to go!

Whatever that M&M dessert is looks amazingly good!!

Your shots of POFQ are gorgeous! But I love how Savannah was high-tailing it, hahahaha. I know that feeling all too well!

Your photos of DTD with the sun setting are fabulous, too! Love it.

My love for Earl of Sandwich is infinite! So much so that when they opened one in Disneyland, we obviously had to go there during our trip! SO GOOD.

WHEW, caught up again! YAY!

Ha, you were lucky to have such a photography supportive tripmate! ;)

That dessert thing with the m&m's is a brownie at PoP. It's good, but I think it looks better than it tastes. :p

I had to laugh that we have the same angle shot of Gaston...was yours b/c you couldn't get it any other way without PEOPLE'S HEADS in the way?!?! Mine was! :lmao:

Thanks Ann, still recovering, but going to do an update today!

Thanks! Yep, I turn 40 just a week from today!! :scared1: I'm going to get a tattoo. Nope, no mid-life-crisis here! :rotfl2:

starting to feel better, but wow, it's slow going!

No worries, hope all of you feel better!! :goodvibes

Thanks!

Hope you're feeling better soon!! :flower3:

Thanks! Getting there!

Chapter 12: EVERYBODY DANCE NOW!! :cool1:

The TR's namesake! Everybody Dance Now...wasn't that by CC and the Music Factory??? If you know, it means you are getting up there in age, just like me! ;)

Urgh, trying to get back in the swing of things here but this flu is slow to kick! I don't want to get out of the habit of updating though b/c I might just let the whole TR go if I do that! :scared:

Savannah & I had just finished our yummy dinner and decided that we wanted more time at DTD and we could do Test Track another day. Yay! So off we headed to shop! I had a date with the Christmas store as an ornament is a MUST on every trip for us!
Disney2013705.jpg

I told Savannah she should pick the ornament, we wanted one to symbolize our trip together. Of course, I thought something PINK would be good, but she had other ideas!
Disney2013710.jpg

She found this minnie mouse (mickey head shaped) ornament and it had to be the only kind of ornament that was damaged! Something in the way they were made, they bumped each other and knocked off the paint in places. There was a whole row of them and ALL of them were knicked in some way. We searched the store for something else, but she kept coming back to the damaged ones. I didn't even take a picture of them! ack! Looking around the store for something else special...

Disney2013701.jpg

almost bought these!
Disney2013699.jpg

Nope! Back over to the damaged ornaments. Sigh. A CM came over and said she had noticed these ornaments were damaged and they would probably discontinue them. She even went in back to see if there were any, but there weren't. I asked about a discount...no?!?! Ok, so I'm supposed to pay 18$ for a scratched ornament?? :confused3

Guess so?!? I swear, I do some crazy stuff at Disney. :lmao: Savannah loved the ornament and I told her that it was "imperfect" and unexpected, just like our trip. I ponied up the money and we headed out for more shopping fun!

Next we went in TREN-D, Savannah LOVED this store and we got her a really cute tshirt here as well.

Disney2013713.jpg

Next we headed to OUAT and I nearly bought one of these B&W Minnies! Oh I loved these! But where would I put a stuffed animal??
Disney2013715.jpg

Disney2013719.jpg

I also almost bought Zebo's pal...Girraffee! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, it's ok. I bought Zebo (Zebra pillow pet) for me...ahem...I mean SAVANNAH...on my trip with Rey. I nearly bought Girraffee for me this time.
Disney2013720.jpg

Lots of "almost buying" for me on this trip, huh? I guess I've just gotten to the point where I realize when I get home I could have bought less? I don't know. Again, not sure where I would have put Girraffee...

Savannah bought an iphone case and we headed out of OUAT.
Disney2013721.jpg

It was a little after 7pm at this point and we were headed West, in my head we were headed towards the bus, not sure where Savannah thought we were headed! ;) As we passed the Amphitheater, Savannah stopped b/c something caught her attention. There was a show of some sorts going on! We sat down and 2 1/2 hours later we were still there!! :thumbsup2

What we found was this Dance Party/show and it was a BLAST! So DISNEY, so much fun! The DJ was part of it, he was fantastic. Funny and entertaining and he could DANCE! There were interactive games with the audience, dance competitions, Simon says, and then he got the whole audience dancing. We danced too! The Cupid Shuffle, YMCA, even Gangnam Style! :lmao: What's funny is that I was having so much fun dancing and enjoying that I only took a couple shots during some of the audience dance competitions so I would remember the night. Oh and Savannah thought it was hilarious and a little scary that 3 year old children knew the moves to almost all these different songs! SUCH a blast!

forgot what they were doing here...maybe "looking cute"?
Disney2013726.jpg

dance competition, he would change the music and it was hilarious some of the moves people had. People really let loose at Disney and just HAVE FUN. That is what we loved so much about it. Everyone could be silly and it was ok to be silly! (the woman REALLY dancing in the black/white was pregnant, btw! She danced at one point with her 22 month old...the dj would ask people questions and talk to them while they were up there)
Disney2013730.jpg

ballet dancers!
Disney2013736.jpg

Oh man, at one point he had 2 men dancing together and 2 women...the 2 men dancing together was HILARIOUS! We were rolling.

It was just an amazing show. Savannah not only loved it, if you ask her what her favorite thing was of our ENTIRE TRIP, this is what she will tell you about. We danced, we laughed, we loved it so much that we will make sure we have a whole night to devote to it every trip from now on! :thumbsup2 In fact, Savannah loved it almost too much. She wanted to go back to DTD EVERY night of our trip, which wasn't going to happen.

It was over at 10pm and we headed to the West end to get a bus (Marketplace bus stop closed) and OMG the lines! I guess since they had Marketplace closed, but we had to wait in a pretty long line, luckily we got seats on the bus back once we finally got on a bus!

When we got back to PoP, it was CRAZY with BTG's again. :scared: They were everywhere, taking up the sidewalks, the food court...ugh. We went down to refill our mugs and had a little scare halfway back when Savannah thought she had left her phone in the food court or giftshop! We ran back and couldn't find it, but luckily it was safe in the room, she had not taken it down. I went to bed around 11:30, I think Savannah fell asleep a little after me. First day accomplished! WOOT! What a day it had been!

Up next...rough, rough 2nd morning after our long first day!

Well, I wouldn’t say that 40 is “up there” in age, but yes, I do remember that song! :lmao: I’m glad you guys had such a fun time at the dance party! It looked like a blast! Your first day was PACKED! You guys accomplished so much! No wonder you are foreshadowing to a rough morning the next day :rotfl:

Right! 40 isn't up there at all! 1 week left of 39 for me, I'm hoping my mid-life-crisis doesn't go any further than the TATTOO I'm getting! :lmao: Actually, I've wanted this tattoo for years and decided it was time to finally get it! It's a tree, I'll have to show you when I get it done! I get the first part on the 7th. (I know, you didn't ask, but I'm telling you anyway!) :lmao:

I’ve been 40 for almost a week now and I already miss being 39! My son thought it was hilarious that I had to now fill out the 40-44 box when taking a survey, rather than the 35-39 box! :lmao: I’m excited that you’re getting a tattoo! I can’t remember, but you already have at least one, right? I’m saving up here and there to get my next tattoo, but Disney is a priority right now, so I probably won’t be getting one until the fall. It must be a pretty detailed tree if you have to get it done in separate sessions! I can’t wait to see!

Nope! I don't have one! I know, I SEEM like I have tattoos though, right? ;) It's going to be on my shoulder blade area and pretty big, he said about 5 hours but we're going to do it in 2 sittings since I'm a noob! :lmao:

Oh yeah, 5 hours would be A LOT at one time! I only have two right now and my first one took two hours, but it wasn’t too bad because the guy doing it was my friend and we just talked the whole time. With the second one, the artist wasn’t too chatty so it seemed like forever even though it was only about 45 minutes  So I hope you have a chatty tattoo artist! Or a good book!

Oooh, I'm right there with you.... I know those lyrics & got the dance moves to go with it...

"Come on let's sweat baby
Let the music take control
Let the rhythm move you
Everybody dance now "

Ha!

Now, did you really think we'd ever think you would suddenly just NOT FINISH the trip report?! Your past reports prove otherwise!! Hahahahahaha!! But so glad you are feeling slightly better to be able to function!

And tattoo, wow, you GO girl!! I always think the idea might be cool. But then I think of the pain..and I do this... :crazy2:

I can't WAIT to see your 'celebrate 40' tat! I think it would be cool to have one of my kids names........ somewhere... like around my ankle.

P.S- did you get a chance to see all the pics of the Princess 1/2 from this weekend? Looks sooo cool!!!

We have the same tradition in buying a Christmas ornament in Disney!! I love it! :) I think this year we went with a Stitch one. Bummer about the one you guys found where they were all damaged though!

I totally saw that dance party that you guys stopped by! Was the DJ doing like, random dances like the sprinkler or other ones? I don't know, we walked past it a few times when we were in DTD and it looked like people were having fun. :goodvibes

Sounds like an awesome day!

Haha...I remember going to my school dance and dancing away to that song. Loved that song. :)

Glad you are feeling a bit better!

Sounds like you had a great day!! We always get a Christmas ornament too. This time we picked up Alice and Chip & Dale.

Cool...your first Tattoo! ;). I have four! Love them, I would like to get more but I can't think of a design right now. I would love to see a pic of yours when you are done.

Wow, what a marathon day!!! That dance party looks like a lot of fun, what a great idea to make it a part of your trip traditions from now on! :thumbsup2

I have no clue if my artist will be chatty, he's really nice and SO talented, but I'm thinking I might just want to sink into a book or something. I'm afraid I'll be a wuss and a big baby about the pain! :p

Ha! It came on the radio yesterday and I was grinning from ear to ear. and dancing... :cool1:

I'm excited about the tat, I know it will hurt and have no clue how I will react to that, but I'm excited about finally getting it after thinking about it for so many years!

I have seen some of the shots from the Princess, but not a ton. Is there somewhere that people are posting them?!?!?

Yes! He taught everybody tons of dances...OMG, THRILLER! So much fun, and I thought I knew everything about Disney! It's fun to come upon something you haven't heard of and enjoy it so much!

Oh you KNOW I will be posting a picture...or 10! ;) That reminds me, I should be getting my photopass share pics today or tomorrow! WOOT! Can't wait to share those too!

Yep, I'm always amazed at how long our days are, especially the first and second days. We usually lose steam after that, but taking the mid-day pool breaks REALLY gave us the energy to go longer!

Well...I had energy...you'll see from the next update that Savannah maybe didn't!
