I just signed up for the 5th annual Coasting for Kids fundraiser being held June 9th at Cedar Fair parks across the country, including our very own Knott's Berry Farm.

The event raises money for Give Kids the World, which just so happens to be the favorite charity of The DIS!

Since its founding in 1986, Give Kids The World has welcomed over 97,000 families from all 50 states and over 68 countries. Last year alone GKTW hosted more than 6,500 families.

Give Kids The World has made a promise to never turn a child away. For 70 percent of the year however, the Village runs above 100 percent occupancy, meaning some families must lodge off property during their Wish Trip. For this reason, Give Kids The World Village is in the midst of the largest expansion project in its history.

Demand for Central Florida wishes is forecast to increase about six percent each year through 2015. To accommodate this growth the Village will need to expand to approximately 192 villas. Every person you tell about this mission, will help bring GKTW one step closer to achieving this goal.

Your $25 registration fee includes admission, a t-shirt and lunch. Each participant must raise at least $75.

No deadline, but a limit of 30 people at Knott's (not sure about the other Parks).

A DISer from the East Coast has challenged the West Coast!

We need to raise more money here on the West Coast! Disneyland pride is now at stake.

To do that, we need more people on the DIS Coasterpalooza 1.0 team! Join quickly as Knott's has set a limit of 30 riders.

Let's do this for Give Kids the World!

I read this and thought- that sounds great- I want in...then I read I would have to do the Vortex for 4 hours??? Sorry- that is just too much- I will make a donation to support a dis team who is brave enough for that though so come on Northern California- who is game??
