2 Bedroom vs. 2 Bedroom Lock-Off

Ok, this may seem like a silly question to some, but what is the difference between a 2 bedroom and a 2 bedroom lock-off??

We are booked in a 2 bedroom lock-off in AKV - Kidani next January. I would guess lock-off has a door between bedrooms or something; but don't really know if there is anything else? We've only ever stayed in a studio in the past.

We're taking my SIL and her family on this trip so our first 2 BR experience of any type ever.

A lockoff is a 1BR adjoinining a studio
The studio will have its own hallway entrance, kitchenette, and sleeper sofa,

The dedicated 2BR is only a 2BR,
There will only be 1 hallway entrance for all to share, and the 2nd bedroom will have 2 Queens (no couch except for some BCV ones) and no kitchenette.

As we see it the lock-offs have some advantages. Others may see it differently though.

• Lockoff's have two separate temperature controls so people in the 2nd br can have it warmer/cooler than the main part of the unit. Of course you have to be careful about mini-thunderstorms where the two meet.
• Lockoff's have an extra set of basic kitchen equipment. You can have two coffee pots (perhaps one real, one decaf) going at once. Two toasters so your morning bagels are ready faster.
• A really separate area if you don't want to get too friendly with the people in the second bedroom.

Why have I never thought of it fully in that way before? We are SO booking lockoffs in the future if we host my family again. We have different ideas of heat/cool, and having lots of coffee going without bugging someone else would be lovely!

Pretty sure there are more than just BCV with the couch. I think OKW is the only resort that does not have the couch as the option.

If you have an older/elderly person like we do, you may WANT a lock-off to have the sofabed in the 2nd bedroom. That's lower...and hence easier...for them to get in/out of. Some of the queen beds are pretty darn high!
