Onboard airline check-in - Canadian?

Hi,

I've been trying to do my research. Do I have this right?

If we book DCL transfers and book an AirTran flight home we can put the luggage out the night before and not see it until we get to our destination airport.

Will the baggage fees be charged to our onboard account - or do we have to prepay them to AirTran beforehand?

It's a domestic flight to Buffalo, but we are Canadian citizens. Does that make any difference in the procedure - i.e. can the luggage still be sent to the airline without claiming it before customs?

Thanks for your help. :)

Fellow Canadian here. We flew Delta to Detroit and we put our bags out the last night and didn't see them until we got to Detroit. They will also leave you your boarding passes on the last night. You will be charged for baggage on your on board account. Go down to guest services to make sure you are enrolled in this service. For reasons no one could figure out, some of the rooms we were travelling with were enrolled and some were not. Something else to keep in mind. We were paying our on board account with cash. I went down to guest services, the last night. We had a conversation about the charges for baggage. I paid for our account. The next morning I woke up to a bill under the door. I was NOT impressed as the reason I paid the night before was to avoid the lines in the morning. It turns out Delta had not charged Disney for our luggage until after I had been down and paid. I called guest services to see if they could charge it to my credit card, no luck, I would still have to go down and sign. So I had to go down to guest services and pay that charge off. Surprising the lines were not too busy. Had I known though that I had not paid for that charge on the last night, I would have given them my credit card information then so they could just apply it when the time came.

That's a lot of rambling on, but you get the point!! Lol

As long as you are using a particpating airline for a domestic flight, and have purchased either your transfers to the airport through DCL or purchased your airflights through DCL, you are eligible for the onboard checkin.

AFAIK, the bag fees are charged to your onboard account.
