it's just the next step towards selling... it's regulated by the state...

At GFlo now. Really can't see too much progress from what is in the thread. Everyone here is saying March. What March means I'm not sure.

The roof on DVC is getting closer. No word on point sales yet.

Piano is playing in the lobby and you have to love GFlo. Headed to Gasperillas or a drink!

Is Glenn still there playing when Chris doesn't? I heard last visit that he (Glenn) was going to retire.

Will the beach be accessible by mid- april? Thinking about booking for 2 nights but would like to know how much we will miss out on due to construction. Also- is there any booking category that we could get that assures us we will avoid a crappy view of the DVC construction?

I don't really have any knowledge that you don't but we're going in April, too, and I'm not counting on the blue walls on the beach or beach pool being gone.

Fingers crossed on the courtyard pool blue walls, though.

i could be wrong but i think the only direct view of construction would be the main building, and even so, only a handful of rooms (we were "fortunate" enough to be one of those rooms on our last trip, lol ). maybe big pine key, as well, on the lagoon side? the prob is that main building is "club level, main building," but bpk is probably "standard view" or "lagoon view" so you can't really count on one booking category to eliminate the possibility of a construction view. with that said- i would think the view at bpk would be far enough away hat it would not be too bad.

i am not entirely sure that the beach as we know it is ever opening again. hopefully someone has more info on that.

I've searched through quite a bit of this thread, but couldn't locate the answer - has there been any word on when GFV will be available for booking?

we are currently on the wait list for VGF I have no idea there was one until the DVC Guide told us while we were negotiating for our up coming purchase:confused3

Hi all. We will be arriving on March 14th for a week. My husband is attending a convention at Gf. Does anyone know if they generally assign a certain building for people attending a conference or is that something that is not set in stone. Reason for asking i would like to request a room that is looking out on the lagoon not necessarily the boat dock and def not the courtyard pool. Has anyone here had any experience with the conference situation? Any suggestions or answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

it depends on how big the conference is.

I have heard of them assigning people to Sago because it is right next to the convention center.

If that's the case.. request a marina side room...

You can try to request a room in another building - just not sure if the company that booked has a specific area or not...

Thanks Tink!! Is a marina view looking at the boats where they rent them ? Is there just a lagoon view in Sago as well?

That is Sago Cay - marina view...

Nice view! Is it close to pools and Gasparillas?

Very close to Gasparillas. The table and chairs in Tink Rules lovely photo are outside seating for it. Not as close to the pools. In fact, Sago Cay is the farthest from both pools but still not bad especially to the courtyard pool.

Only a few more days away for us! Anyone have updated pictures of the courtyard pool construction? Had some early last week (not sure of actual picture date). They had finished pouring the floor/walls of the pool.

We were there last week and on Friday they still had cement trucks backing into the construction area. I couldn't see into the area, because our room faced the other way, but they are definitely still working on it.
