Did you dress up for Pirate Night?

Yes. Some adults really get into it. DH and I just wore Pirate Mickey t-shirts. If you don't come up with anything ahead of time, there's a shop on board with pirate gear, including the t-shirts.

May your swash never buckle.

We used the pirate bandannas that Disney provided, but we did not do anything special as far as our clothing.

We wore matching Guy Harvey Pirate T-shirts and the bandana that they gave us. I wish I had taken a picture of the shirts from the back to see the design but I forgot. Here is a picture. We also had pirate beads because it just so happened that Pirate Night was also Mardi Gras Day.

I'm sure the kids do, but wondering how many adults do, too?

Lots of adults get dressed up. I've seen several Jack Sparrows and a lot of Halloween type costumes. DW wears one she bought during Halloween, but I just wear a pirate-themed aloha shirt. I' love to dress up as Barbossa but I'd need to bring an extra suitcase to do it.

When we were planning our trip, we decided to be a family of pirates Halloween so we can reuse our costumes on the ship. We really enjoyed dressing up. I would say more kids were dressed up than adults though.

Last year like OP we used the bandanas they gave us in the stateroom but this year as we are staying at WDW before we are going to do the pirates League for fun, keep the stuff and take it on the cruise! If we can we will do the MNSSP on the day of the Pirates League :-) we are two women in our forties! No kids sadly. But we make up for it!

Count us as some of those who don't do pirate night. We're kind of "over" the whole pirate thing so we usually plan on Palo that night.

However I did have a thought about what to do next time. I'm getting a t-shirt with a colorful parrot on it. Yes, that's right, Parrots of the Caribbean. :lmao:

I ordered costumes for all three of us on eBay. I might feel a little self conscious that night but I know I will be glad I did it when I see the pictures. I had also ordered T-Shirts from ETSY but then decided to do the whole costume. I guess we will wear the shirts that day. I am looking forward to it!

Oct 2011, DH and I took our first cruise ever...and it was without the kids! But we are a couple of kids ourselves, so for our Anniversary we made matching t's that said " It be Arrrrrrrrrrr Anniversary". We wore them pirate night with our mickey pirate ears!

Love the t's! Where did you get them please?

We did, mostly because our kids were into ALL of us doing it. We didn't do full-on Halloween type costumes though. DH cut off a pair of cheap sweatpants, wore a hideous medallion-pattern shirt from Goodwill and a leather vest (also Goodwill) and flip flops. (He did end up going to the gift shop on the Magic for some accessories, though, b/c without it he just looked like he'd fallen into a really unfortunate bag of laundry). I wanted to turn "real" clothes (that I could wear in real life) into something pirate-y looking. I wore red denim capris; a top with flowy sleeves from the Banana Republic Outlet; a denim vest (Goodwill); a yellow scarf I already had, tied as a waist sash; giant gold hoop earrings (the biggest and cheapest I could find at Target); and a big brass key ($2 at Michaels) on a long necklace chain, and black flats.

When we went to dinner (first seating) we didn't really see any other adults dressed up... but by the time we left dinner, we saw a bunch of people more dressed up than we were!!

Pirate t-shirts is a great idea! I have a pirate costume here at home, but I don't think I'm going to bother packing it---too bulky.

We bought some Jack Sparrow accessories that went on clearance at our local Halloween store in Novermber. We'll also be wearing Pittsburgh Pirates shirts!

I really wish I had the luggage space to dress up fully - after many years of Ren Faires, I have a ton of garb that would work.

Sadly, though, I don't have the luggage space. So instead, I wore my Milwaukee Admirals t-shirt. And since I'm pretty sure most of you don't know anything about the Milwaukee Admirals, this is their logo:

Great thread! I know my DD and DS will be going all out, but I want to join in too and I have no clue where to start! Thanks for the pic, NikkiFB! I'm gonna try to follow suit!

This is awesome. Aside from this and the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Bradenton Marauders also have a great logo.

We didn't dress up on our last cruise, and there weren't a whole lot of adults dressed up (but I think that was because we were on a short Dream Bahamian cruise).

This trip we will be dressing up - my husband in a vest, pirate shirt, Jack Sparrow hat and tattered pants, and I will be in a corseted pirate dress with blouse underneath. I love to have the opportunity to sew costumes!
