NJ DIS Meet Weekend for Give Kids the World - April 26-28! The TOTAL is IN!

Guess who's back?!! :)

I am so happy to see all of you attending our event even if it is just for Saturday's activities. Tonight I will make an update to the first post of this thread with news of what we have been working on. In the meantime, feel free to pass the word of this event and the great cause we are trying to help - GKTW!

Welcome back, Nikki! Hope you had a great trip! :goodvibes

Nikki,
Will you be updating the first post to list the podcasters who will be there? I heard on today's live recording that Corey and Julie (along with the little ones) will be there.

Sounded to me like everyone will be coming, except for John and Kevin because they'll be traveling.

Since John and Kevin are the only ones I've met so far, I'm so excited to meet the rest of the team! :thumbsup2

Yes, this is what Pete announced today. :)

WOO HOOO!!!! I just registered my daughter and myself. I'm so excited to meet disers and the podcast team!! I've been listening for a couple years but have never been to a dis meet or met any of the podcasters. This will be so much fun. Even though we only live an hour away we are planning on staying the whole weekend as a mini vacation!!:dance3:

Same situation here! We're probably less than an hour away, but staying at the hotel all weekend. So excited to meet and spend the weekend with my fellow DISers! :cool1:

:scared1:Only 9 more days!!:scared1:

9 days until March 1st. That's the deadline to register and get 10 prize tickets per person.

I can't wait until you see the auction tables! There will be LOTS of fun items for everyone. Disney collectibles, fun stuff for kids, sports memorabilia, something for coffee lovers, things for crafty people -- and much, much more!!

You will still be able to register up until April 1st, but after March 1 you will only get 5 prize tickets per person.

So don't delay!! Register today!!

I heard about this on the last podcast and really want to come. I hope to decide in the next few days!

I just registered for the Saturday event. I couldn't figure out how to register for the Friday night event. I won't be staying at the hotel as I just live up the road. I am pretty sure I can see the Elks Lodge from my office window, so if there is any on-site preparation work to be done, please let me know! Happy to help out if it is day of the event, or even well before hand.

I would love it if you joined us! Just remember that early registration ends March 1st!!

There is no registration for the Friday event as of yet, but we will collect a list of who is attending and post it here. :) Looking forward to seeing you again and thanks for volunteering. We will let you know what we'll need help with as soon as it gets closer.

A few people have asked what airport is the closest to our event. The best option is Newark Liberty International (EWR).

I'm getting so excited to see everyone!!!

I know I've been MIA for a while, but I will be there Fridan and Saturday. You all seem to have done an amazing job in organizing this and I am so excited to be a part of it. Thank you!

Thinking about doing the Saturday end of the trip, but am going to be taking the train. Is there a NJ Transit station near where this is being held? Not an expert on getting there via NJ Transit, so I wanted to ask before committing.

Thanks for all your hard work Nikki! Wish I could make it!!!

Laurie
We wish you could too Laurie- but thanks for your donation. :thumbsup2 I got it this afternoon!!

We'll be glad to see you again Christine! :)

You can take a Northeast Corridor train to Newark and switch to another train to get you closer to the area. A lot of backtracking involved. Not directly to where we will be though.
I don't live in that area, so I don't know about buses, etc. But I did a quick Googlemaps search.
If you can drive- it's just about 3 hours exactly (Baltimore to Bridgewater).
The train, train, bus option would be somewhere between 5 & 9 hours! And it looked a little painful! :scared:

Is driving not an option? We would love to have you join us!

Driving isn't an option, no license. I can do some long trips before. It's 2 hours from where I am in Baltimore Area (Aberdeen, MD) to Newark, NJ by train. Hearing there are buses nearby helps. I may also spend Friday night up there to help on the travel.
