Need Prayers

Thanks everyone. I'm okay. I need to be for DH, DD and MIL. He is in ICU. MIL, BIL and Aunt are in a car on the way to the hospital. MIL had to wait until ship docked and then fly back. Thankfully Royal Caribbean had someone with her all day and every step of the way. Keep those prayers and good wishes coming. I'll update tomorrow when, hopefully I have good news to share. I refuse to be anything other than optimistic until I hear otherwise.

So sorry to hear what your family is going through. Hoping for good news and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Thank you for the update. I'm glad your FIL is settled in and getting there is behind them. Glad RC was supportive of your MIL, that's nice to hear. I'll be praying for his recovery and for all of your family at this difficult time.

:grouphug: Prayers sent for you & your family. You have the right attitude. It is amazing what people can recover from nowadays.

Mother in law just called. He is awake and knows who everyone is. Hospital has given him a shot to keep him calm and comfortable. MIL, BIL and Aunt are going to find a hotel room and will hopefully have more information in the morning. Seems like all our prayers are being heard. I'm sure there's a long way to go, but I'm optimistic. Thank you all again for your kindness and prayers.

What wonderful news! Sending healing prayers for continued improvement and recovery. :grouphug:

MIL called this morning. He is still awake and alert. They were unable to find a hotel so they stayed in the hospital room, although BIL slept in car. FIL was a bad patient and had started pulling out the lines and tubes so the hospital had to put them back. I'm taking that as a good sign although I'm sure they'll keep a closer eye on him and maybe keep him more sedated. ;) Of course there's still a long way to go, but again, I remain cautiously optimistic.

DH had a rough day yesterday but, of course, he too is glad for some good news. MIL seems to be holding her own although I'm sure once FIL is out of the woods she will have a complete breakdown. But she has more than earned that.

Thank you all so much for your continued support and prayers

I'm so sorry I didn't see this until just now - prayers for a complete recovery. hugs my friend!

I've been praying for your FIL and your family. I'm so glad to read your "cautiously optimistic" update! I'll keep praying until your FIL is all better :goodvibes

BIL posted earlier today on FB:

"Ok. So it was a heart attack. He coded at least twice. While the heart stopped he aspirated fluids into his lungs and now concerned with pneumonia. During the heart attach he also had a gastric bleed so they are pumping the junk out of his stomach. He is recovering quickly says the Dr. and the tube should come out in 1 to 2 days. At that time it will be evaluated when transport back to NJ can occur."

Exactly how many things can go wrong at once? Glad to report as of last anyone spoke to them he remains in ICU but is holding his own and doing well. Thank you again to everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

And having taken a page from the DIS, all I can think of now is I hope they had the travel insurance which covers catastrophic incidents like this that help pay for helicopter evac, etc. :scared1:
