Which WDW Disney Resort Should I Pick?

My wife and I honeymooned in WDW 14 years ago and I would like to take her back for our anniversary. A couple of years ago we became DVC members but have only used our points to stay at GCH- which we absolutely love!

Where would you recommend we stay when visiting WDW? When I look at all of the resorts, there is just so much to choose from I don't know where to start. Overall, we just want something that is clean, convenient, and has that special touch of Disney magic (which I assume all do) but I'm looking for some expert opinions.

Please advise. Thank you in advance!

Choosing a favorite resort is like asking to pick a favorite dessert - there are so many good options! :rotfl:

If it's just you and your wife, here are some options to consider:

I ADORE Animal Kingdom Lodge, and it would be a great, romantic choice for two adults. It's a bit further away from most of the parks, but I never found it to be as "far away" as people described. It really feels like you're in your own world over there which may be a great idea for an anniversary trip! There are DVC options at both Jambo House and Kidani Village, in case that appeals to you.

One of the Epcot Resorts may appeal to you if you like Epcot and DHS. Unless you really like the pool, Boardwalk may be your best choice due to the great amount activities, shops, and restaurants that are close by. There are also some great entertainment options available.

If you'd like to be closer to MK, I'd probably pick Wilderness Lodge over the Poly or the Grand Floridian. It has the same secluded and special feeling as the AKL but is very close to MK. The GF currently has some major construction going on, and although I think the Poly is beautiful, I think it tends to be a busy place.

Finally, if you're aiming for the moderate end, either Coronado Springs Resort or Port Orleans (either spot) would be ideal. CSR tends to have a lot more adults, has a great bar and night spot, and has beautiful views. Port has some night entertainment as well, plus you might really enjoy the boat to Downtown Disney.

Good luck!

:) I would first pick which park you'll be going to most often and go from there.

I'm also a DVC owner and have stayed at many of the WDW resorts. The answer is always "it depends".

Are you planning to use your DVC points? I own at Beach Club Villas and love the convenience to Epcot. However, my favorite villa is a one bedroom savannah view at Animal Kingdom Kidani. If I'm going with a DVC studio room, then I am happiest at my home resort BCV.

I don't know where you own but the 11 month booking advantage and the time of year you are visiting may determine a lot more as some of the resorts are hard to get with the 7 month booking window if you are wanting to stay outside of your home resort.

If you are looking for a hotel rather than a DVC resort, my absolute favorite is Boardwalk Inn. I have stayed at all of the deluxes except the Poly and I just think BWI has the best mix of location, decor, room quality and friendly cast members.

I do plan on using points. Our home resort is Aulani. We plan on going sometime in September and I think we'll just need a Studio. I'm curious to know why you would choose a studio at BCV over Animal Kingdom?
