The next morning the boys and I headed out to DHS and made it in time for the Pre-show. The boys got to this point ahead of me, but I took my time since they had my ticket to get FPs first thing at TSMM.

How old do they have to be before they're willing to do the dirty work for you? I need to get my kids to start pulling their weight.

Jonathan and I rode together and cooperated on attacking the different games. He scored higher than I did, which isn't unusual, but I was pleased with my score since this was one of my higher results.

Nice work. I'd be thrilled with that score.

Chapter 14 Back to DHS


The next morning the boys and I headed out to DHS and made it in time for the Pre-show. The boys got to this point ahead of me, but I took my time since they had my ticket to get FPs first thing at TSMM. The crowd was a little larger than it was when we were here a few days before.

Eek, that's a little too crowded for me.

Always have to get some pictures in the TSMM queue!!!

After we exited the ride, the small gift shop right outside caught our interest. Of course, I had to do my tribute to Kathy's hubbie Mark. Jonathan was a little quick with the camera as Andrew tried to join in the fun also.

I still don't understand all this spoon referencing. Is that what Ali uses to keep you in line, a good smack with a spoon??

We had never really paid any attention to the Buzz and Woody character meet just across from the entrance to TSMM. Jonathan wasn't interested, but Andrew and I decided to check it out while the line was short. There is a lot to do in the queue and Andrew took the time to try everything out.

Great update! I guess Drew was just still young enough to have fun with the meet & greet. Seems like you were able to share some quality time together in that line.

I guess I must check out that shop on my next visit, I spotted a nice t-shirt behind you when you were trying on that "hat". Even though one cannot call it a hat, it does suit you very well!

How strange that they have eliminated rope drop now at all parks besides the MK (at least that was the latest I heard...) I wonder how it will be to just walk through the gates without any ceremony or so...

I agree. There are some really neat toys there, and every time I look at some of them, it almost seems like I had at least something similar as a child. That Prospector's Dynamite game just seems familiar, but I'm guessing it was the Hot Potato game I had like it.

Nice chapter. I've never been through the Buzz and Woody queue, but it really looks cool. I always thought it was pretty neat how they made Buzz and Woody slightly different sizes, just as it would be if they were toys made by different companies.

Yes, but they are a lot bigger than I imagined!!!

What a nice surprise to find a Marv Elous update this morning! First I've seen the TS inside queue so the photos are a nice peek! Me thinks a picture of Rosie with the spoons is a must on her next visit.

Not having young ones the last several years, and not being much of a fan of animation, have only seen a few Disney movies since Beauty and the Beast....on, wait, I saw Monsters Inc...Lion King...is Up a Disney film? Geez, I'm getting old...although last night Rosie did say now that we have reached 65 we have until at least 82!!!

Chapter 15 – Back to DHS (continued)



After our Character Meet with Buzz and Woody, our FP window was open so we grabbed another set of FPs for TSMM before heading off. The boys decided they wanted to do Star Tours next before heading to the other side of the park and having to backtrack so much. I'm guessing all of the heat during this trip was either starting to get to them, or make them a little wiser about planning all the walking to tour the parks. As we walked I stopped them long enough to get this picture. Maybe this is how the revelation came to them about reducing all the walking in the heat..........

We stopped long enough to get a couple of shots as we cut through the Streets of America. I really like this sign!!! Always seems like a great idea to me.......

We reached Star Tours and the wait was about 15 minutes, so we joined the Standby line hoping the estimate was fairly accurate.

There wasn’t a very long line at all and we were soon a Star Tours passenger. After helping safely transport the Rebel spy, we headed off for a limo ride and to check out a hotel we had been hearing about. The crowds were starting to build and I was hoping that we were heading in the right direction and most of the people I could see ahead were about to vacate the area.

We arrived at RnRC and opted for riding Single Rider.

While we were in line, I got a text from Alison that she had gotten her some breakfast and was on the way to join us. The boys wanted to ride ToT next even though the wait time was around 30 minutes. I decided to work my way back towards the center of the park to get up with Alison when she arrived. On the way I stopped to catch some of the sights. This street performer was doing something akin to the (in)famous shell game and tricks with cards, entertaining a group of people.

When I got back near Mickey’s Hat, I saw these guys doing greets.

After Alison arrived, and the boys met back up with us I decided to let her and the boys use the FPs we had collected and I would head back to OKW. I had enough already as it was starting to get hot, so I was thinking a visit to the pool might be appropriate. We still had a busy afternoon scheduled so a break sounded really good to me!

I never knew that the characters have "Hollywood" outfits at DHS. The chipmunks look cute - I think I need to put this on the list for the next trip: look at the characters at DHS!

I think that was a good call to head back to the resort to relax. After all that's the beauty of owning DVC: to know that the parks will be there again on the next visit! I guess Pat would agree with me here!

I hope you have some OKW pool pictures coming up next! I am kind of falling more and more for OKW and definitely can see a stay there in my future... But then I think the only DVC resort I would rule out at the moment is SSR (even though I can see some positives about that as well) - and I am not sure that I would really want to stay at the new GF DVC (is that going to be GFV? Or VGF?), just not my style...
