Hey Gang...

Just stopping in to say we are excited to be joining you. This will be the 6th Disney Cruise for DW and I and the 4th for the kids ( DS-11, DS-9, DD-7). We are taking a 3 night cruise in May when we visit WDW so it will be like an appetizer for this one :)

December can't come soon enough!

Brendan

:welcome: pilk706

I'm Denise and traveling with DH Wally. Just the two of us, kids are grown and out of the house..:thumbsup2
I'm like you..December cant get her fast enough, but I dont mind the wait as the trip always flies by...;)

Looking forward to chatting over the next few months.

Got a quote on flights from our home town to Orlando return today. $2800 each!!!! That doesn't include any of our other internal flights around America :( You guys have it so easy living close to DL and WDW compared to us.

:scared1: wow...that is just crazy.....and I complain about 600.00 round trip for us....

Wow top of page and I didnt even have to work for it.....:rotfl:

Oh to all the new people, we play a little game on here....we try and see who can grab the top of the next page....little silly, but keeps the thread going.

YIKES!!! That's expensive! I could go to Hawaii First Class for that! :scared:

That is crazy expensive. I have been wanting to visit Australia again but the airfares have been preventing me. I could take 2 crusies for the cost of the flight. :confused3

I feel exactly the same!!!! Our quote is better than that because we are extending our holiday into mid January.....quotes I got were still around $2200 each though - that's $700 more each than our last trip!!!!! Again, not including any domestic flights within the US...

I know!!!!!:sad2::eek::mad: But, I've done some playing around on different websites and I've found that by changing things around to better suit us (rather than what the TA wanted us to do) I'm coming in at just over $1800 each now. That was with Qantas and I'm waiting for VAustralia to come out with their dates.

The TA gave us two options - one to fly via Brisbane/Sydney/LA/Dallas to Orlando or to Brisbane/LA/Orlando. Both of them were leaving on 30th November which doesn't suit as we check in on that day at our accom, and we wouldn't arrive in Orlando until almost 10pm/4.30pm. I changed the flight departure in my 'experiments' to 28th Nov to LA, overnight in LA then fly to Orlando on the 29th to get those savings. And we still go back to Australia on the 21st January '14 as we originally planned. There is no way I'm paying almost $3000 each for flights! And I haven't even looked at internal flights yet!!!!

I spent a sleepless night or two choking over those quoted prices, but now I've been looking for myself I am sure I can do our flights for under $2000 to get there. I wailed to DH last night that we were doomed, but he reminded me that this is the holiday we want to do so it's no point in crying about it. :grouphug:

Hi all!

My friend and I are from Australia and this will be our third disney cruise (and first time to the Carribean!)

We are disney obsessed twenty something's who will then be going on to WDW for a seven night stay at CSR with DxDP (we are foodies and this is our second time to WDW - last time we regretted not doing TS more than twice in ten days - this time our budget has given us room for the plan and we are VERY excited, eating all our own food last time was a budget saver and made our AKL trip possible, but we felt we lost some magic by not eating at disney)

I only just found out about FEs and am hoping to participate on our cruise!

Don't forget to come over to the Dark Side (Australian forums) next time you're on Dis, too, and say hello. We don't bite, I promise :rolleyes1

There's a Sydney DisMeet coming up soon that you may want to go to if you're around that way then. Don't know the date off the top of my head but there's a thread for it.

Welcome aboard. Your kids are at fun ages. My DD will also be 7 when we cruise. My DS will be 4 almost 5. (Its an early bday present) am jealous so many will be visiting the World before December. Where are you staying?
Its our families 2nd cruise, it will also be my DH and ours 8th Wedding Anniversary.

Look forward to meeting everyone.

When we go in May, we are doing a 3-night on the Dream followed by a couple of days at BLT. We may add 1 day to either end of the December cruise but we haven't decided yet. I am lobbying for a day prior to sailing but I have to see what the boss decides :)

I am so sorry that you are so stressed about the flights, here is some pixiedust: to help.

It will all work out in the end, but we all know planning a vacation can be very stressful, especially when it comes to controlling expenses. Will you have a car while you are here? If so, check flight options to Tampa, its a little over an hour drive. Don't know if it is cheaper but worth a shot.

On our way to Disney World to run the Royal Family 5k...think we're somewhere over South Carolina almost to Georgia. Have great weekend everyone!

Good luck with the race... Wish I was more south right now lol...

There won't be as far as I'm concerned. I'll drive if I have to!

:thumbsup2

Oh boy, do those words bring back memories....years of being stationed in Keflavik Iceland!
And who would have thought that my DMiL in Tucson would get more snow this year than we did? And no, she doesn't live in the mountains! :confused3

Yeah, had my first thundersnow last year -- that was really weird as I've not had that happen before...

Dang, missed top post by two!
