I've already booked our cruise but, want to upgrade to a cat 00V. Available are, 12022, 12008, 12016, 12516 and 12522. Any advantage to one over the other or should I just pick one and go with it.

12008 should have a deeper balcony due to it being on the "bump" of the ship.

I believe that 12008 has the bump out veranda. We were in 12010 and had the bump out veranda. It is roughly twice as deep as a standard veranda, I have a trip report for this room that has pictures.

I stayed in 12514 and would not recommend 12516 unless you are an earlier riser. Two mornings we were woken up at 7:30 a.m. by the bump-bump-bump of the music from the spin class in the gym directly below us. Personally, I prefer my vacation with a dash of extra sleep.

I'm planing far in advance for this cruise.... Not until 3/30/14. I've reserved 12008. Am I guaranteed this suite?

As long as its booked and paid in full by the PIF date it's yours

When you select a stateroom at booking, and particularly one at this level, I think you are pretty much "guaranteed" as long as there isn't something out of their control that occurs making that room unavailable - plumbing problem and it flooded with soaking wet carpets, etc. 100% guaranteed, no as there's always that odd possibility something could happen, but 99% guaranteed.

Enjoy your cruise!

Technically no, but if you reserved that cabin, it's yours. DCL reserves the right to move you. What many suggest is place a note on the ressie that says "Do not move or upgrade". Well that's what we note. Perhaps you should just say "Do not move, upgrades welcome".

ETA; Have you seen this photo? http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t177/HallsofVA/458bddbe.jpg

I have not seen that photo, awesome. I'm upgrading from 4E, mainly because of the concierge service and deck. The longer veranda is certainly a bonus.

Found your trip report. Very helpful. I have been struggling for days on whether it would be worth it or not. Good to know that I won't be making a mistake. I'm fairly laid back and less demanding than my DW. I'm sure that she will appreciate the extra service.

I'm booked in 12510 I think it has the bump but am I in for the same experience as 12514 and 12516 with the gym??

You are on the bump. Directly below you is the rainforest room. Basically you have 12512, a cat T, buffering you from the gym. You should be ok, definitely better off than 12514, 16, 18, 20, which are directly above gym.
