AUGUST 3, 2013--FANTASY 7 night WESTERN

Hi fellow disney cruisers!

My name is Emily (15) and I am a first time disney cruiser with my family and I. My mom, dad, and my older sister (19)- along with myself- are going to be boarding the beautiful Disney Fantasy on August 3rd, and I can't possibly be more ecstatic!

DumboFan... I saw that you said your daughter had made a teen facebook page. Would it be possible to send a link for it? I'd love to be apart of it and meet some of my fellow passengers before boarding!

I can't wait to share a wonderful vacation along side all of you!

Best wishes and magic forever,
Emily

Hi Emily....the fe is a gift exchange. You will need a "fish extender" which is simply material with pockets on the front...you can make one or buy one whichever you want. It is called a "fish extender" because on the Magic/Wonder it hangs from a metal fish that it outside your stateroom door that holds your messages from DCL. The pocket hanger simply extends the fish so to speak. You will also need to make/buy gifts for the people in the fe group which you will put into their fish extender sometime during the cruise. The gift can be whatever you want to give but usually has something to do with the cruise or your hometown. There are lots of ideas here on the DIS if you do a search for fish extenders. In return, the people in the fe group will be putting gifts in your fish extender too! It is alot of fun!!

Thank you very much that was very helpful. My family and I would like to participate in your group. Is that possible? I'll follow the directions from some previous posts to put our family name in the group. I'm very much looking forward to it! Thanks again!

I've got you added Emily! Here is one thread on Fish Extenders: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607&highlight=fish+extender

I'm pretty sure there are many as well as FB groups with FE ideas as well.

Hi everyone!

Steinar (my fiancé) and I are from Oslo, Norway, and we're both very excited about this cruise!

We are getting married July 26, and our honeymoon follows the very next day with a week in New York + this fantastic cruise. :-) The honeymoon consists of both our choices - he wanted New York, I wanted a Disney cruise, so we went for both!

I have been on a Disney cruise once before, back in 2003 (or 2004), which was a three day cruise to the Bahamas. I was a cast member back then (Epcot, International Program), so we got the cruise really cheap! Unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough for the ship to dock at Castaway Cay, so we'll both looking forward to seeing the "Disney Island" (also, I'm still struggling with pronouncing Cay 'kee').

Our cabin number is 8570. We picked deck 8 after reading a couple of forum discussion of where the most quiet cabins might be (we may be wrong, haha!).

So we are:

Jonas (31 now, 32 on the cruise)
Steinar (34, 35 on the cruise)

I also have a few questions, as we're not seasoned cruisers at all:

We're thinking of doing Palo and Remy - but what meal is more fitting for either? I was thinking brunch at Palo and dinner at Remy? Remy sounds wildly expensive though, especially with wine + tips...

What movies do you guys think this cruise will offer? I'm really hoping Wreck-It Ralph as we haven't seen it in theaters. Also Oz: The Great and Powerful. :p

Does anyone have any experience with the In-Room Gifts one can order? Except for the wine packages I don't really see anything that tempts me very much, but I can be convinced! :scratchin

What's there to do at Cozumel? We like history stuff and sightseeing, but time seems veeery limited at that port... I've also heard "stick with the Disney shore excursions" as an extra precaution should you get delayed at any port (as the ship will wait for you then).

Oh - and I'm on a diet (with exercise) too! Trying to lose weight and build muscle and tan and everything for both the wedding and the honeymoon! My goal is losing about 22 pounds so I feel like that's pretty substantial.

I like the idea of fish extenders, too, but I'm not sure we will opt in yet as we are trying to travel as light as possible. :-) I will let you know though!

See you all real soon!

Welcome! And congratulations on the upcoming wedding! My DH still can't pronounce Castaway Cay. I looked up your room on my ship map (large, laminated, next to my computer at all times *ahem*) and I think it is a great location but not so sure about quiet. My map shows that you are right by the mid ship elevators so you will likely have some hallway traffic and it would be noiser than a lot of locations but the convenience of that location is fantastic.

We are hoping that Monster's University will be showing on the ship. I have no idea what else will be. Palo brunch is very popular. I'm sure Remy would be amazing. I am hoping to get a spot at Palo's for brunch but that is probably all we will do.

The only time I've been to Cozumel we did an excursion in Playa Del Carmen http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/c...ozumel-mexico/xcaret-eco-archaeological-park/
which was amazing (floating down the underground river) but very very rushed. I have no idea what to do there on this upcoming trip so I am interested to hear what everyone thinks.

I'm getting excited for this cruise! I am so sick of snow!

Congrats Jonas! I have very dear friends in Sweden...though I know that isn't near you...one is named Jonas and whenever I see the name it brings a smile to my face! Our room is near yours 8558 and 8560. I don't think the midship elevators will be very noisy. We were far from the aft elevators on the Magic last year and it was fine...and I'm a light sleeper. You know you can buy wine in Florida and carry it onto the ship? Last year I bought mini bottles of wine in plastic bottles. They came in a 4 pack. It was great! We would fill a glass and carry it up to dinner...we'd tell our waiter it was from the bar (shhh). It was fine b/c we didn't do that often.

We haven't been to Cozymel on a cruise, but went for a day when we were on the Mayan Riviera 5 years ago. I would doubt you would have much time traveling over to the mainland and back. I know I would feel rushed and would worry I would miss the ship! On a DCL excursion I don't think they can leave without you...but they can on other tour operators.

We have done brunch in Palo on the Magic. I find the dinners in the main dining halls are very nice, but lunch isn't much. I'd rather do brunch.

Thanks! Let's hope we don't regret it then. :-) I can always live with some noise.

I will book it as fast as I can! I am a planning maniac unfortunately... pirate:

Yeah still not sure either. Maybe we'll just decide on the spot. :-)

Ugh ME TOO! My mind basically hibernates during winter and emerges only when flowers finally start to pop out through the diminishing snow. :flower3:

Thank you! My last name is Swedish, and we go to Sweden about once a month to shop (much cheaper), so it's not too far (1+ hr drive).

Hmmm you do intrigue my sneaky bone... but we have so little time in Florida (regrettably!!!) that I think we may just opt for a Classic Wine Package.

I'll take that as yet another vote on sticking with the Disney excursions. ;-)

I can't wait for the FOOD though... seen many pictures and it looks so tempting!

Hello disboard members in this thread!

I'm Brandon Chang and I'm soon going to be 21 years old come April!

I'm a Disneyland Resort annual passholder, and I have the Premium which is the 365 day's a year annual passport. I've been to the Walt Disney World Resort 9 going on 10 hopefully come this summer. I've been on 5 going on 6 Disney Cruises hopefully come this summer.

I was wondering if it's too late for me to join this thread?

I will get everyone something nice from the Disneyland Resort! :) :wizard:

Plus you'll love me because I'm amazing and you'll see why.

If some of you who have been on the Disney Fantasy you'll know why.

Can any of you guest why I'm going to be amazing? The best thing any of you would need?

If any of you look me up on facebook maybe you can figure it out.

Just look up Brandon Chang from Monterey Park, California Volunteer at California Science Center. Also add me to the group as well because I saw it's locked! :(

I made a mistake on my first quote my bad!

Still getting use to this website!

I may not want to do this now on second thought!

Depending what this gift exchange is and if it's worth my while!

Real amazing people give gifts and demand nothing in return, out of the goodness of their heart.

It is a beautiful day here in Ohio! After months of cold weather, we are blessed with sunshine and 65 degrees! We are enjoying it while it lasts because forecast says 30s coming again this week. :(

I think we are 145 days away from our cruise. Looking forward to meeting everyone!!
