About to pull the trigger on our October trip....

Three Adults (me, my mom and my sister, One 4 year old, one infant). Yes we know it will be tight but my sister and mom are on a budget. I've only stayed at POR (three times and I love it) - but again, mom and sis are on a budget so we're going with a value resort.

DD loves little mermaid, so I'm leaning towards AoA Little Mermaid rooms... but really she loves everything Disney if you think All-Stars would be better... don't know much about them (there are three? Music, Sports and Movies?)

We love having the fridge in the room, and I think I heard that AoA just added them to all the rooms....

Advice is greatly appreciated!!!

All the value rooms have fridges.

The biggest complaint I've heard is that the LM rooms are a bit remote at AoA. Another consideration is that there are few if any discounts on those rooms.

Have you considered Pop? You could stay there for less than AoA but walk over to AoA to check it all out.

Personally, I would book at ASmovies if this was the 4yr old's first visit. Toy story/ dalmations/ The theme is wonderful, there will probably get a discount, and she'll get plenty of little mermaid at the new fantasy land at MK.

Have fun!

Actually thinking about this since my mom will not want to walk far from the buses to our room... good to know :)

It's not her first visit, but it would be her first "fun" resort... we love POR, but I think she will definitely get a kick out of the themes of these... I'm going to look into ASMovies... and she does love toy story!!

So, seems like I'm looking at Pop now too, Pop, AoA or ASMovies...

Does ASMovies share a bus with the other AS resorts?

Rarely. Usually in the middle of the day, when hardly anyone is using the buses. All 3 All Stars are connected by their parking lots, so it doesn't make for a very long trip.:)

If you want to be close to the bus stop, be sure to pay for a preferred room. Otherwise you may end up with a long walk.

I like to pay for a preferred room at Pop so I'm sure to get one close to the food court/bus stop. I've had good luck getting 50's both times I didn't book preferred but now I like knowing I won't be too far out.

At ASMovies nearly the entire resort is preferred so you might not be all that close.

ASMovies was most recently refurbished.

I prefer the food court set up at Pop but you should look at photos to see which resort you like best.

I would go with All Stars. Smaller resort and having stayed there, let me tell you that LM rooms are a HIKE (and I am a runner). Your 3 year old really isn't going to care where you stay.....it will all be magical! ALso check ASMusic as often it has discounted rooms when Movies does not.

Another vote for the All Stars as less expensive and more compact. The LM rooms are quite a hike from the food court or bus stop at AoA!

Alrighy... looking like I'm going to pass on AoA... DD4 won't know the difference... we might try it another trip when my mom isn't going ;)

Okay, so looking at All Stars or Pop!! It might be fun to do Pop and walk over to the AoA pools ;0

All Star Music is great (we've been there 3 times and all were excellent). Their quiet pool has a colorful Ariel statue next to it. I know it's just a statue...but it is Ariel! The main pool has Donald and his Amigos - Jose and Panchito.

I am having the same issue. I can't seem to decide between the two. I have never stayed on Disney property so it is a first for either one. I am leaning towards AoA since its newer. Any thoughts????

Getting a preferred room costs a bit more. I understand if your mom NEEDS to but if not, totally not necessary. I know everyone is different and it's convenient being a little closer but I find walking through the grounds of the resorts nice so we like having a room further away, plus it's fairly quiet the farther you get away from the main building and the pools. :goodvibes

We decided to do All stars movies because my girls are only 4. It will be a lot easier going from ASMo to AOA with their cool pools than it would be to do the reverse. Great discount on ASMo, so we're going to take it up and try AoA the next visit.

We just stayed in a standard room in the ASMu (Rock section) and a suite in AoA. I may be wrong, but I think you can get a room at ASMu that is even further than the LM from the main building. We actually took the Sports buses because they were closer. I would get a preferred room if distance is an issue. We thought we were on a quiet side in ASMu, but then the marching bands started up practice in the parking lot :sad2:. We also got all kinds of plumbing noise on the second floor which drove me crazy as a light sleeper - maybe a top floor room would be better? I thought AoA was a much nicer resort. I would not return to an All Stars resort. For the money, I would stay off property.
