August 2013

They do still offer this, as I just did ADRs for our trip last week. You do have to link your resort reservation on the ADR page though, or it will not allow you to do the +10.[

I'm confused....:confused3 What exactly is this 180 +10?

If you are staying on property, you are allowed to book ADR's 180 days out from your check-in date, plus 10 days after.

Ex: You check in on 8/17/2013, you are allowed to start booking your ADR's on 2/18/13 (180 days) and you can book them from 8/17-8/27 (+10 days).

Make sense now?

Can someone tell me if 180+10 include things like BBB, PL and the Wishes Cruise? Or do I have to call 180 days prior for each individually?

Had great success with my ADRs this morning!
Just can't pull them up online though, but I guess that's not a surprise!

I booked BBB at the +10. You just have to verify your reservation. My ADRs were not showing up either until I hit "update."

Looks like some of the quotes for people are not working correctly. But, I did want to answer angbuz's question about 180+10 that was asked. As a PP said, 180+10 means if you have a confirmed resort reservation, you can get a jump on ADRs by booking at the 180 day mark for up to 10 days of ADRs. I did recently book my 180+10 ADRs and it worked well. I also booked BBB using the +10.

Looking at August 2nd to 11th

Is it going to be wall to wall crowds like spring break, anyone have any tips for this time of year? Looking to stay deluxe are the resorts packed too?

thanks

I love going in the summer. I went once the week leading to Easter and Mother's Day w/e and I thought those were worse then summer.

My tips are to go early. If a park is open early that day go to that park. Leave at lunch time, either et lunch in the park or leave and et at your resort.

Take a break-either swim, nap, do laundry, etc....

Shower again..ok that is what we do since we are sticky from the am sun/heat.

Go back to the park til it closes. I have done that with a 15 mo old, a 22 mo old and a 28 mo old. They all took naps during our mid day break. When my oldest was 7 she even took a nap. There were no tired meltdowns from my kids at 9/10 pm.

We do not do a park every day. We do a maximum of 2 days in a row of a park (ok occasionally there is a 3 day stretch) but we take a no day park to hang by the pool and sleep in until 7!

Every ride has a/c so it's not like you will be sweltering for long in an outdoor line.

We wear hats and do t forget to sunscreen ears.

We bring water, ok last time we caved and drank soda because I kept telling myself that fl water isn't that bad. This year we are shipping water. We get frozen drinks/treats.

There are the sprinkler/miter things all over, go get wet with your kids.

When we had the stroller, I would put ice cubed down on the stroller tray for my kids to suck on and play with, aka keep cool.

I only bring about 6 outfits per person because I do laundry every day. We wear 2 per day.

We have cheap mister fans from Walmart. I don't know if I am going to bring them. I may just bring one, not sure.

My kids are a bit older so there will be no stroller so they each have a cinch sack and will carry their water which will be in the thermos water bottles they have.

People always say how can you go to fl in the summer?

Well I live in ct, it gets 100*, it gets oppressive/super humid. When I am home I am either rot the beach, in the pool or inside the a/c house. Well in Disney, I am either in the pool, my a/c room or walking to a ride that has a/c.

I completely agree. We're from Baltimore, it gets horribly hot and humid here too. Since our kids started school we began going in July/August. It's just not as bad as it sounds. You're only in the heat for short periods of time.

We will be there from 8/19 to 9/2. Two full weeks. Maybe even a couple of days more if the flights on Sat or Sun come down a bit. I guess the plan would be to get a room only for 2 nights. Maybe do DTD and hang at the pool at pop. Airfare was so high this year. I get to make ADR's in a couple of days. We are on the QSDP for free again this year. This seems to work better for us. I do need to make 3 or 4 ADR's and a PL reservation.

We'll join if no-one minds. OKW 1 bed villa 24th thru 31st with free dining, then off-site for another 6 days.

Our first time on-site:cool1:

I hit the 180 days to go mark! We just made our ADR's...so excited and can't wait till August. So here are my ADR.

Friday Chef Mickey's
Saturday Cape May Cafe
Sunday 'Ohana (first time)
Monday and Tuesday Boardwalk restaurant and DTD
Wednesday Akershus
Thursday Liberty Tree Tavern Lunch (first time)

We're toying with the idea of booking August. Maybe offsite. We've done it before. Excited even thinking about it.

Another party to add to the list. We're going 8/4-8/10. Currently booked at ASMu but we're flexible if some Pixie Dust comes our way.

Thinking of these dates as well, but waiting for discounts to be released, so we haven't booked yet. ADR times don't look to be completely filled yet, but it makes me nervous to not have those booked yet too! Would LOVE to stay at Poly again, but don't think it's in the budget this year...looking at a moderate like POR or CSR instead. DH, DS6 and DD2

Thank you very much! When I called on my 180 day, the CM told me that I could book my entire trip ADRs at that time. Yeah, that was great!

Will someone remind me come August and I am in FL (or CT for that matter) that I should enjoy the sun, heat and humidity and not complain that I am hot and wearing some kind of flip flop/shorts and a t-shirt.

And that I am not looking at snow coming down and falling on the snow piles at the side of the road from charlotte/nemo a month ago. And that I am not listening to the cold howling winds.

Ha ha! Yes, no complaining come August and how HOT it is....LOL (because it will be extra hot in WDW in August)! But I'd rather be stinkin' hot in Disney than stinkin' hit in NJ!!!

woohoo! :cool1: just booked a stay for myself, DH, and his whoollee family (7 adults and 3 kids total)! Staying at AS Sports 7/31-8/7. I'm a major lurker on here, but used to visit Disney every single year growing up... haven't been in 2 years and I. CAN'T. WAIT! Is it July 31 yet??? :woohoo:
