Spill/leak proof cups for older kids?

Can anyone recommend a cup for kids that has a lid and that is spill proof/leak proof? My daughter is too big for sippy cups but she likes to take water around the house when she plays so I don't want her to have an open cup since its too easy to be knocked over while playing. I find that the plastic cups with the straws, alot of them leak and all the fun ones from the Disney store can't go in the dishwasher. Anyone know of a good brand?

Thanks!

Try a water bottle. My 3 year old has been drinking water from his siblings for a very long time, over a year I think. We use the Nike kind, they are cheap and don't leak. We also use CamelBak but they are expensive and the plastic drinking part always seems to tear for us.

Walmart and Target sell juice called Tummy Ticklers in bottles that have character tops. They are in 3 different sizes. The smallest ones are pretty small.

I take the label off the bottle and put them in the top rack dishwasher, refill with water and use them for DD5 for her lunch and DS(20mos) for around the out and out and about.

After a month of so the tops get chewed up, so I toss and get some more. They are under $2 each, so it's a cheaper than putting water bottles in DD's lunch, and it's just the right size for her.

Of course - we like all the Disney character tops ::MickeyMo

I love Tervis. They have different size tumblers and a larger water bottle all with lids.

How old is your child? We give our 5yo a regular cup to leave in the kitchen, and when she's thirsty she has to come in there to drink. Otherwise she'd make a mess with any cup we give her.

For DS we used a travel mug, like for coffee... the lid screws on tight and then it has the little opening at the top that opens or slides closed. Of course, it's not totally spill proof, it will spill if they leave it open, but even then, it's a slow spill vs. a totally empty cup.

Those look great! I may have to get some. Do the tops stay on really well?

Yes! The lids pop on like all other Tupperware lids, if that makes sense. They still work just fine, too. I've used them for young visitors to my house in the last couple of years.
