Leaving this Sunday, possibly Saturday evening, for my happy place! Can't wait to try out "The Beach Club Resort for FIRST time!" I will definitely be checking on the DIS, if anyone has any question or pics they want taken! Woot... But nervous about my Princess half, scary but fun.....:0

Enjoy! I'm really looking forward to another frequent Poly guest comparison! Good luck on your marathon! I've got hopefully my last doctors appt today. I injured my knee this past summer (thank god after WDW trip) and I'm hopefully getting the okay to start working out again so I can get in shape for our June trip.

Good luck again!

OK, so not too bad but not so relaxing huh.... WELL there is another room very near this and it is much more intimate and relaxing. It's right off of this room in the Villas lobby and it's got a couple of sofas and it's off set from the beaten path. I couldn't find any pictures of it......

You got me to digging. Here's a picture of the 'The Drawing Room' in the BCV's

Dee - have a super fantastic time - you deserve it!!!!

Does your Mexico vacation mean that no chance of a July WDW BC trip?
Boo hoo

Teena - bundle up!!!! Remember your Pennsylvania winter days.
We've been to Disney three times in January and once in February. Only one trip was it cole (and I mean scarf and gloves cold). The other two trips were downright balmy!
Ditto all of the above :goodvibes
I'm off today because ds has the flu. Finally get a day to DIS!!!!!
Boo for flu but YAY for dis-time
I am having a hard time going from CL to Non CL. I KNOW I'm being a brat and should just be thrilled that we are having our nice two week vacation. I guess I really got spoiled. Darn these kids having to go to high school (tuition).

We had to suck it up and go non club after going club the previous year 2 yrs ago (if that makes sense-travel agent messed up booking which is why I will only do it myself now but that's another story). Anyway what I was going to say was -we still had an amazing time and while we did miss some of the luxeries provided by club (swedish fish among them:lmao:) we still had a great time and you will too:thumbsup2 When the kids graduate tell them they have to take you to disney as a thank-you for all the sacrifices you made for their education:rotfl2:

THIS!!!!

This is the (not so) secret BCV hang spot! See how nice it is!! When it was time to hit the road again at WDW we would go over to fetch DH and he would roll his eyes at us and want to stay there. :lmao:

With 5 people in a hotel room my husband is very good at finding hiding spots like this in the hotels that we stay at. His all time favorite was the Wilderness lodge with it's plethora of 'hidey holes". When booking this last BC stay he was bummed that we weren't going back to the WL because he missed his hidey holes there. After he found this one at the Villas he was good to go!

Thanks MickeyT! :worship:

Loving all the pics MickeyT. Werent you bestman for your son at the yacht club or am I mistaken? If you were I'd love to see a photo of that :)

Does the BCV drawing room still have the lemonade available, we'd pop in there for one after being by the quiet pool...heaven :)

Dee, have a marvelous trip! :beach:

Thank you!!!

Dee Have fun! Sounds like a blast.

I am flying to Miami tonight and catching the Wonder tomorrow:yay::yay::yay:

Have a super time Dee. We'll miss you!!!

Suppose to be record lows here on Sunday. Can you imagine what I'll look like walking from the CM parking lot to the BC Sunday morning? Ski mask, winter coat, mittens, scarfS ... gonna be a rough day for me!!!!

I'll miss you too!

This is one of the few times I will be someplace warmer than you.

Have fun Dee!!

Not necessarily. We keep pricing summer trips and we will be down "If the price is right!" Hoping for a summer discount or a PIN.

Please pardon me if this is a silly question (or has been answered). I did a Google search that did not turn up an answer...
My DH hates the busses, and so our YC stay necessitates the MK and AK busses. We plan on taking the monorail from MK to Epcot and walking "home" from there, but what about on the nights when the MK has evening EMH and Epcot is closed when we head home. (We realize that this takes longer than the bus trips usually do, but he doesn't care about the time...)

Is there another path we can take to YC when Epcot is closed? Or perhaps the monorail won't even be running after those evening EMH (I may have just answered my own question...);)

My family is staying at BC for the first time in May-June. Anyone have suggestions for a room request location? Is the pool view noisy? Maybe not a factor since it closes at 10:00 and we tend to stay out late.

thanks!

Hello all,

I've had a very exciting week, I reached my 180 days out milestone on Tuesday so I've spent this week ringing Disney to book my ADRs.

This is what i've booked:

  • Coral Reef - Dinner
  • (CD) Cape May Café - Breakfast
  • (CD) Tusker House - Lunch
  • (CD) 1900 Park Fare - Dinner
  • Sci-Fi Dine in - Lunch
  • (CD) Crystal Palace - Breakfast
  • Hoop De Do Musical - Dinner Show
  • Yachtsmans at Yacht Club - Dinner
  • Mama Melrose’s Fantastic Package - Lunch
  • Ohana’s - Dinner
  • (CD) Garden Grill - Dinner
  • Captains Grille - Breakfast
  • (CD) Chef Mickey's - Dinner

Really excited, got everything I wanted.

I'm thinking about booking the Pirates and Pals Firework Cruise as well.

You are correct BurleyGirl. They stopped running the monorail during EMH's in 2011. This may a good case for a taxi. You can walk to Contemporary and catch one from there??? Just a suggestion if buses are a deal killer. And there is no other paths to Y&BC from the Epcot main gate. You do have walk through.

If you do stay close to SAB (main pool) it can get noisy. Even more so during the day as they have activities. We are a Garden View family.

Stay warm. We were there in 2009 when the lows were in the 30's and froze, even though we had our winter coats, hats and gloves. They don't heat the buildings the way we do up north. I hope your cold spell is very short.

Having grown up in Florida and also lived in Massachusetts for 3 years, I can tell you that Florida-cold is way different than Northern-cold. The humidity stays year-round in Florida, and when the temperatures drop, the moist, cold air cuts right to your bones. Bone-chilling-cold...At least that is what we tell ourselves when people laugh at us for wearing winter coats in 50 degree weather. hehe. ;):);)

So bundle up, and stay comfy!

I'm 60 days out today! So, I tried to do the online check-in. It allows me to click on Check-In but then only my resservation details pop up and the only option is at the bottom of the box to close. First, I really was going on to pay off the rest of my balance. Can't find any area to do that. Looked at the FAQ, says pay off online or by phone. Click on the online like part, nothing happens. UGH! So frustrated and I do everything online. I've been doing all my Disney ressies online for years. I hate calling the number. So, not wanting to spend Valentine's Day on hold on the phone, I guess I'll wait until tomorrow. I hate this new site.

Someone on another thread told me to click on the option to make a map. In doing so it takes you to the old website. You can look at your reservation and then make a payment there online! This was a week ago when I did it !

I'm sorry to just jump in!! I have a quick question. Does beach club offer late check out(for a fee obviously)??

Jump in anytime...

They allow you to request it (we have) but from what I understand it is very rarely granted (they didn't let us). Don't think they have a $$$$ late checkout. Anyone?

Thank you!!!

Thanks!

Have a fantastic cruise!!!

I'll miss you too!

We're hoping for the same discount or pin too! Could make the difference between gv and cl! It would be fantastic to have "real Dee" at the BC/YC meet! Looks like a go for July 6. Teena will still be able to make it if we have it then before she heads out to the Princess Lily birthday command performance.

Not that I am aware of, though you can certainly ask to speak with one of the managers if you feel you have a case for being granted a late checkout. In my past visits, I have packed my luggage and left it at Bell Services or checked it with the Magical Express desk (depending on if I flew in or if we drove). Then we went to a park or wherever we wanted until it was time to depart. Luggage was ready when we were.:cheer2:
