November 2013 Pin Code Watch

First I want to say sorry if this has already been covered. I know discounts are not made during "JerseyWeek" but that in the past FD has been offer up to right before and by checking in the last day FD s offered you can extend it into up to 14 days. Looking at the historical data in 2010 FD ended 10/28, 2011 11/5, 2012 11/1.

What are the dates of Jersey Week in2013, I am guessing 11/3-11/9? Would that make the discount ending on 10/31, 11/1 or 11/2?

Trying to pick dates to book our trip and I am so confused what to do right now. :confused3

TIA

Our NJEA conference is the 7th and 8th; therefore, Jersey Week will be 11/02 through 11/11 (I think, based on historical dates). We're going at that time, too, but we're checking in on 10/31, which will all in the FD dates if they are released. *fingers crossed*.

I think I should play it safe and plan on arriving 10/31 too, Thanks

I'm hearing the Muppets song, "Together Again", in the background. :rotfl2:

Sorry....couldn't help it. lol

That's why I scheduled our trip for then. I reviewed the last three years historical info (or was it four years?) and decided arriving the week before would put us in the FD window should it be released. Also, we usually go for that timeframe anyway (Thurs through the following Saturday); so it just made sense.

Now we all sit here with our fingers crossed. Disney's first quarter earnings were less than the previous year. They tried to say it was due to ESPN having to pay more for rights to games, but considering they just opened the new FL, their numbers theme parks numbers weren't that great. I think we have a good chance at FD.

I'm still hoping for fd when we arrive on 11/10, but no matter what we're still getting the dining added.

I didn't realize they historically didn't offer FD during "jersey week". The earliest we could arrive is 11/1 but the additional cost of airfare on a Friday (compared to Monday when I plan on flying) would offset any savings from FD.
:(

Historically have they ever made any other offers during "Jersey week", like a room only % ?

I need a fingers crossed smiley!!

If/when they offer discounts it is going to greatly impact where we stay depending on the offer!

We want to stay at the Poly this trip, I am really thinking more and more about booking RO with the AAA Discount. I called and it is 15%. FD for the two of us is roughy a discount of 20%. I am just so torn. :confused3

I have searched and Googled and searched some more and I fear the answer is: no discounts available during that time. I think it's because there is an influx of people not just from NJ, but because of the long Veteran's Day weekend.

I have been planning a trip to WDW for my niece since before she was born! She will be 4 in April and we have our trip booked for Nov 9-16 at AoA with Dining. Free Dining (even if we have to pay tp upgrade from QSDP) will be helpful since I am paying for everyone's trip. The Grandparents will be staying in a Little Mermaid Standard room. Me, DH, Brother, SIL and niece have a Finding Nemo Suite reserved. Even if we don't get Free Dining, I am still going to keep the Dining Plan- I want to give my niece the best Disney experience I can, including dinner with her favorite- Cinderella! Can't wait!

My last visit with DH was at POP in September/October 2012. We were lucky to have free QSDP for that trip and paid a little more to upgrade to the regular dining plan so we could do some table service meals with our friends that we were traveling with. It was worth it!

Wishing for just a little pixie dust for Nov 2013!

:wave2:

Okay, crud. Just got the wind out of my sails a little bit. Just booked 11/5 - 11/11...hoping for a room discount not free dining. Any chance now that I'm reading this is the time for "jersey week?"

:guilty:

Adding to say I thought I saw a 30% discount that would cover the beginning of November from 2012? Am I dreaming??

Yes it is Jersey Week. People make it seem way more crowded than it really is during that week. I have gone this week a few times and it was nice, especially before any free dining was ever given to guests, but I think what makes it more crowded in WDW is definitely free dining. I would go this week over ANY holiday week that's for sure! :scared1:

We always travel that week, though I'm a bit out of the loop since becoming DVC members and staying on points. However, last year my parents joined us for two nights (during Jersey Week) and received a room-only discount at AKL. I believe they had a general public discount applied first, then a FL resident discount which was a little better It may have been the other way around, but they definitely received a discount during that time frame. So there is hope! :)

Ok this may be a stupid question but what exactly is Jersey Week? Like I said stupid question, laugh away. Lol

It is a teachers conference in November which creates a long weekend , so no school= everyone in Jersey going to Disney.

Shoot.
Well, at least by knowing I have no shot at a discount I can just book a room whereever and not worry about needing to stay at a mod or delux to get fd. And I don't have to worry about waiting until said deal is released.

Exactly. Plus our district plans teacher conferences around then. Plus election day. So in a 12 day time frame we have 4 half days of school. It's crazy but might as well take advantage of it.

If you are a member of AAA, I am pretty sure I have received a room only discount with them during Jersey week in the past. Not the best discount, but it is something.

Subbing! I'm hoping for a room only pin or an extension to the current military discounts being offered. Since we won't find out about military discounts until the end of the summer (with the way things typically go) I'd love to lock in a room discount at least for early-mid November. We are hoping to run the Wine and Dine 1/2 and then enjoy the early Christmas decorations.

So we are looking to plan an extended family vacation the week of thanksgiving.:cool1: I know the crowds are going to be ...eeeewwww:scared:...but it is the only time everyones schedules mesh. Are there ever any pins for discounts or free dining over Thanksgiving? The cost is a little tough with out a deal! Thanks!
