Was thinking of Rose and Crown for dinner the day we are in Epcot......How is the food and service???

Service was fine. R&C is generally well liked, but I found the fish and chips greasy.

I think Rose and Crown is decent, not great. I enjoy it more for lunch than dinner because the pub atmosphere is noisy and casual. We've always had good service.

We like Rose & Crown very much. We go most trips. It is not our first choice in World Showcase, but we do enjoy it. The service is one of the best in Epcot.
Another benefit is that you can view Illuminations from R & C. They have some patio tables with an exceptional view. You can request, but not wait for one of these.
If you are seated inside, they have a private viewing area the server will escort you to to view Illuminations from after dinner. It is only for R & C guests. Although you will be standing, it is a great view.
Make your ADR for about 7:45 and request a patio table when you check in. You may get lucky.
Either way, you will have a good meal, served by friendly servers and a view of Illuminations Reflection of Earth
Enjoy

We ate there in August and absolutely loved it. Our server was extremely nice and quick... We had fish and chips... Cottage pie... Steak... And kids grilled chicken. Everyone loved their meal with zero complaints. The piano player was just great and made for a fun atmosphere with everyone singing along. We loved it so much we booked again for June!!

We have been twice and enjoyed it each time. Loved the view, Food is good!

We like it!

We went there for lunch for the first time last year and had a pleasant experience. The server was great and the food was good. This is on our go back to list.

We like the specialty drinks there (hubby likes the beer flight, I like the English Rose, also the Welsh Dragon.)

We were just there last SAturday for lunch and we had great service. Food is good (not fabulous, but good) We had the cheese & fruit appetizer (VERY good), and 2 of us had fish & chips, one had bangers & mash. We all thought the entrees were good.

We were full, so no dessert...but in the past we have split the sticky toffee pudding dessert. Very good, but also very sweet.

We went Christmas Eve. Great food and service. We had appetizer trio, scallops, grilled tenderloin and fish and sunday roast. Everything was cooked perfectly. We will be going again soon.

Love it!!! Great Food and the servers are terrific! Beautiful Dining Room!

I would say similar places, different country decor of course.

Rose & Crown is Disney-fied/Americanized British pub food. So it's like British comfort food (not fancy) Atmosphere is comfy-pub decor, but crowded & very loud as are most Disney restaurants. Les Chefs is Disney-fied/somewhat Americanized French cafe food...so not fancy food there either, but still good. The decor is a bit more elegant looking in Les Chefs, but the tables are even closer together and also very loud in there . Hard to feel too elegant with the tables close enough to touch (to close to walk between them.)

We like the food at both places...would call both places "regular" food for the cultures/country they are in. Not fancy, not gourmet.

The first time I went on 2011 I got 2 pieces of fish with my chips. We were just there in 2012 & I only got 1 piece of fish which is fine but it was the same price for 1. Our waitress was Rose & was a doll. it was our anniversary & she signed a menu for us & we got to keep it. im going to frame it for my WDW Bar :) Get the cauliflower side it was REALLY good!

We usually end up at R&C on every trip. The food has always been great! I do find in the evenings that the servers (who are wonderful) are spread pretty thin. And the kitchen pumps out the food like mad....especially fried items, so you might end up feeling rushed.

I do agree with a PP that lunch seems to be a little more relaxed and the servers don't seem to have as many tables.

That being said, we do always go for dinner and we just try to keep the above in mind and set our own pace once the food arrives.

The Surf & Turf is wonderful, BTW!

NOTE: Rose & Crown is typical English cuisine. Nothing special,
but usually above average in quality. Viewing Illiuminations from
the patio is a good view, although seating on the patio is not reserved
and you cannot wait for a table on the patio. The bar/lounge/pub area
is classic Engish with a great selection of beer and spirits. Additionally,
the "Hat Lady" piano player is excellent. Overall good for drinking and
snacking, but only so-so for meals.

We purposely ordered the vegetarian. (Wanted to see how "the other
half" ate.) A wiser option would be booking steerage class on Titanic.
The vegetable mash was bland and basically tasteless. Thank goodness
Scotch whisky is vegan - it saved the meal. Fortunately, we also
ordered Fish & Chips. Not great at all. Only average. But we left full.

How does it compare food and atmosphere wise to Les Chefs?

Chefs de France is very authentic looking. I've spent alot of time in Paris and, if you blindfolded me, spun me around and led me into Chefs, I could not have told you we were in Epcot (well, as long as there wasn't a little mouse rolling around on a cart).
I am usually very happy with my meal at Chefs. I did have one bad meal, but I've eaten there many times.
I think the quality in terms of food an atmosphere is much higher at Chefs than at R&C, but the servers at R&C are friendlier (not that Chefs are rude, they're fine....)

I've been there once in 2009. The food was fine, but nothing to write home about. The service and atmosphere, however, were outstanding. It's a really fun place to eat (and drink!).

Overall, I had a good time. The service and drinks were excellent. The food was good, although it really didn't taste like anything I ate in London!

We LOVED the Rose & Crown! We really liked the food, but I agree with the other posters that the service is excellent. Our waitress was one of the best we had during our whole trip!
