Disney Y.E.S. Program

Is there somewhere where I can get a rundown of the YES program and not have to read through 184 pages of this thread? Hahaha! Thank you!

Question the class I want to attend is 10 days after I check in. Will I be able to get my tickets and use them at check in?

I am going to purchase the 8 day hopper and use these over our 12 day trip.

I just bought individual YES tickets this morning for the June 11 class for my 4 kids. It worked out VERY well! The 2 oldest are going to take Everyday Chemistry with mom (me) as chaperone. The 2 youngest are taking Synergy in Science with dad as chaperone. Both at Epcot. Both starting at the same time. Savings? Right under $400 for 5 day tickets. With a family of 6, I will HAPPILY take any savings I can get! Not only did we get a great discount, the kids get to experience something educational, at Disney no less! 112 days til we leave.....yaaaay!

That's exactly how I feel about it. They may have raised prices and restructured the costs, but its IS STILL a GREAT discount and a GREAT experience for the kids. I know mine LOVE it and I'd probably consider letting them attend even if it was the reg price plus the class cost. Plus you can still get a room discount if one is being offered. Even FD doesn't make sense for us since we always end up eating at places/items that are not on the meal plan and end up with a ton of credits at the end. We are paying out of pocket this time and I think that even with TS meals, we'll still come out cheaper than if we got the QS meal plan.

Just curious...has anyone done Synergy in science or Everyday Chemistry lately?

Looking at these 2...SiS for my youngest and EC for my 2 oldest kiddos!

Looking at doing those same classes...but at the end of June!:cool1:

We did the jan 25th yes program and all went great. My kids got a little bored at the end but it was still great. The biggest issue is you can't link your keys to the world card with your tickets so you have to go through the longer lines but besides that, would do it again in a heart beat!
May I ask which program you did?

We have done YES individual several times in the past but when now the website seems confusing. Can someone update me? Are there changes? In the past I could get the discounted tickets for my kids and my husband and I, is this still the case? How do I go about get tickets now? Now you have to be registered and then approved?

I found some net classes for the kids (thanks dis) but can't figure out which park they are at. Any help? Am I just missing it? I'm specifically talking about 'experience synergy in science' for ages 5-8 and 'fundamentals of photo storytelling' for ages 12-17.

Both of those take place at Epcot.

That's what I was afraid of. It my DDs bday and she wants to spend the day at DHS after the program. I wasn't going to get hoppers.

Another question---has anyone done the classes at DL? I can't find dates, just descriptions and prices.

I don't know anything about Everyday Chemistry, but my son did Synergy in Science last October. He was 7 at the time. He loves science. I thought the class was pretty interesting , but he lost interest after the Spaceship Earth part of the tour (except for the rides)which is the second thing you do.

But don't be dissuaded, he just already knew the info they were discussing, and wanted to get to the rides. They basically show you how they used a combination of different "sciences" to create things at Disney like animatronics, 3D movies, and the tour ends at the Journey to Imagination ride where they will use "synergy" to create a final project.

They show you how they make the fake skin for animatronic animals and people, then how 3D movies are made. The class gets to a do little "experiments" for each topic which is just like what you would do in an elementary science class. Most of the kids in the class really enjoyed it.

I can share some pics from the class. Just PM me if you are interested.

Can anyone remember when the fall Homeschool Days program was announced last year? The year before?

I'd like to start planning our fall trip. It would be great if we can hit Homeschool Days this year, but that's tough to do without knowing the dates lol. There's a Disney Dream cruise special that ends on the 15th. We were considering a four night cruise plus a few days at Disney but if we go that route I need to book it soon. ADR windows are opening for September also, so I'd really like to pin down my dates ASAP. :rolleyes1
