I truly appreciate safety concerns, which is why I prefer not to "friend" each member of the group as I reserve my Facebook for close friends and family only and keep my privacy setting to the most restrictive settings. At this time I am going to leave the Facebook group as "closed" but would be more than happy to transfer my administrative rights to someone else who is willing to "friend' each of person to keep the settings as "secret".

Thanks I found it and sent my request. As for safety I can understand - we can change the name of the group so it doesn't reflect the dates of our vacation. As a closed group anyone can see the group if found in a search and who's in it but only members see posts.

If you read the previous posts here you will find a link to sign up for the Fish Extender and our facebook page if you are interested. There are tons of great ideas on fish extenders and gifts on the DISboards if you do a search. There is also a link on the cruise facebook page to another facebook page all about Fish Extenders, from how to make them to where to buy supplies to make gifts and more.

Sorry I have been away for a while. It's been crazy at work and after. I will be looking forward to this vacation!!!!!!

It is a Google document so just please add your stateroom #, disboard name & how many adlts/kids are in the room. I'll cut off the list additions on March 15th. Right now, we have about 15 people on the list. If we get up to 20 or more, I'll split us into two groups so none of us need to bring too many gifts in our luggage.

What happens with the fish exchange is that each room that participates brings a small gift for each other room on the list. Then, sometime during the trip we deliver to the other rooms. It's a way to get some fun "fish mail" and a souvenir from the people we are traveling with. In the past, gifts have been homemade magnets, crafty necklaces, postcards, picture frames. Usually the gifts cost the participant about a dollar or two per room - sometimes less depending on your level of craftiness.

Remember to keep it simple and just have fun with it. If you are in a GTY room, please update your room assignment when you learn what it is (hopefully before we board!). If you don't know your room until you get to the ship, just let the people on the list know what your number is so we can get your gifts to you. You can leave a note in the fish extenders of the other participants.

Hopefully, that explains it! For the first-timers, I will try to find a picture of our fish extender so you can get an idea of what it is/looks like. I made mine but I think you can also find them on E-Bay.

No, I have not joined the FB group yet because of the security concerns that we have. I joined the FB FE group to get ideas! Our DD will be 6 3 days after the cruise and her name is Sarah. She thinks the cruise is her birthday present ! I will update it on the FE list!

Just to be clear; we deliver ONE gift to each person in our FE group sometime during our cruise, right? Or are we suppose to deliver each person a new gift everyday of our cruise?
