I honestly think I am sold on CR or BLT for whenever we decide to return :) How did that quote look this morning???

KOOK - just in case you forgot the view of Bay Lake from CR and BLT....

OMG! I think I have the bug now!! Love that view!
So grocery shopping and laundry is on hold for a bit. I decided since I made it through 5 days of walking the parks with no pain or complications it was time to get back to the gym. I haven't been since my medical complication last fall. Between surgery and life stressors I managed to gain another 10 pounds, on top of the 20 extra I already had on me. Thankfully I didn't gain anymore at Disney ;) so this morning is about me and everything else can wait!! (Including the trip report, lol)!!!

Way to go getting back in the gym! Maybe you can rub off one me :confused3

Loved your trip report! So much fun to see what you guys ate. So, thumbs up from the kids on GF dining?

Our last day we decided to have breakfast at The Wave again (after we got the truck loaded up). Today was Chef Tom and he wasn't the friendliest, the kids really loved Chef Dave from Wednesday night's dinner and Saturday morning's breakfast. His pancakes did not look as appetizing but the kids said they were pretty good.

I had the egg white frittata and it was yummy!

We then made our way back to AK for the safari we never made it on Saturday. It was still a bit cool so the animals were out in full force, even the baby elephant :)

We ended our day and trip at DHS. DS and DH went on ToT and Star Tours while DD and I went to see Beauty and the Beast, then we met up at the ABC commissary for lunch. I have to say this was our best QS experience with ordering GF meals. The manager took our order and then instead of stain ding and waiting at the counter forever, she handed us a pager to let us know when the GF food was ready! I honestly think all QS places should do this with the allergy orders. Sadly the it was time t head back to CR to head home, but first another stop at DTD for another box of Babycakes goodies to bring home ;)

Here are some photos taken in the CR:

Turn down service (even though we didn't request it), the kids grabbed the chocolates before I snapped the picture ;)

The kids area in the lobby

The ballroom level....DS loves these couches and the fact the there are never people on this level

Some final thoughts.....

CR is absolutely the perfect resort for us!!! It truly is a magical resort! DH even asked for the scent they use in the lobby because he loved it so much. I have a feeling this will be our go to resort, although we agreed that we would still love to try a 1BR at BLT. We all agreed that having Contempo Cafe and The Wave so convenient really help to make CR a standout for us. Having stayed at YC with its lack of QS options made us really appreciate the Contempo Cafe.

Dining GF in Disney is not hard, but it takes planning. With my picky eaters we couldn't just grab a quick breakfast or stop anywhere. Planning was key. It was nice that they had so many options and most if the chefs and managers were very nice.

We only had a monorail issue once when we were returning one night from Epcot, we never found out why they weren't loading the resort monorail at the TTC, but we just improvised and took the ferry from the TTC to MK then walked back to CR.

It was a great trip and so nice to get away! I am sad without another Disney trip planned, but feel very lucky that we got to go so many times recently. I know when the time is right we will return!

Great report Melissa. Thank you for letting us share in your trip! And happy for your family that the food issues were well taken care of by Disney. :goodvibes

Oh Jeanette, you are always thinking, aren't you, lol!!! ;)
I love my snacks

Melissa, awesome TR  It really does seem like you've found a home resort  Thank you so much for "taking us with you" You are A GF Heroine!!! Ahhh...The WDW GF Queen :flower3:

Melissa, thanks for the great TR and helping us feel we were along for the trip too...:goodvibes

How nice that you feel you have found your "home away from home" at the CR! :cool1:

As Pas posted, you are the GF Queen!! :flower1: your planning helped make it magical for your whole family.:flower3:

Wonderful TR! I am afraid to even mention CR to Bob as it is where he would pick to stay between the 3 Monorail Resorts.

Thanks for shareing your trip with us. :thumbsup2

I already had the CR TPV bug, and you've made it worse. The only problem now is, the DSs have the SAB bug and the DH refuses to do a split stay.

Melissa, the thread needs that Atrium Club photo - I know you don't mind:goodvibes

That duvet cover is different from 2010. I wonder when the 'circles' appeared:scratchin. BTW, turn-down is automatic when staying at any CL or when staying at the GF, so you don't ever have to request it.

I can't believe this whole time you've been hiding out in Boca - we've probably crossed paths at Mizner, Gumbo Limbo or Town Center!

Thanks for your great TR and for letting us all go on vacation with you:grouphug:

I just looked back at my December pictures, no circles on the duvet, so it was a recent change.

I was surprised with the turn down service because we weren't CL this time. It was only a couple of nights, not all of them, do I dont think its the norm at CR yet.

Too funny, I am sure we have crossed paths at some point ::yes::

Oh and that wasn't a pic of the Atrium lounge, it was the couches on the ballroom level, just up the escalators from the lobby.

I know, it is hard when BC/YC has SAB. We only spent a few hours at SAB when we were there, and my kids would gladly give it up for CR.

Wookie: You've got to just go and book another trip and make it a CR trip. :thumbsup2

Melissa: :worship: Loooooved your TR. Thanks so much for taking time out to share it with all of us. So, what was the end verdict on The Wave? (I remember quite liking it while the hubs not so much. He doesn't know what he's talking about though.)

P.S. And, it's all your fault (and Kook's) that we booked CR for October... let me just tell ya, when Miss M finds out she's gonna be :furious: it's not BC. :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2: I've already had to explain that we're not doing CL anymore because we can go more often if we don't have the snack room. :confused3

In my haste, I mistook your lobby kids' area photo for the Atrium Club lounge kids' area - same TV and shelving LOL and then I thought you had stayed CL:rotfl:. Please ignore my post, which I won't edit as it will give a good chuckle to everyone. So glad the CR thread was spared my confusion! Yes, yes, you are absolutely correct that non-CL turndown isn't automatic at CR, so what a nice touch that you had it.

I really enjoyed The Wave, DH only had the dinner he didn't enjoy (he doesn't eat breakfast). I know it gets mixed reviews but I think for Disney it is really good. I love that it is fresh local ingredients. I give it a :thumbsup2

As for CL, my kids asked about it a couple times this trip, but honestly because we drive and I brought drinks and some snacks we really didn't miss it. I think Miss M will get over it ;)

I figured you looked too quickly, LOL! Nope there was no CL while we were there, I saw lots of hard hats walking around up on the 12th floor so hopefully something exciting is happening to the lounge ::yes:: Someone told me that it was probably opening this week, but now I cant remember who it was.

It's not Disney food, but here is my version of GF pizza ;) Crust is made from scratch as the kids don't like the frozen ones available.
