7/13/13 ~~ Eastern Mediterranean Mouseketeers!

So is this the silver date? I am constantly confused :P

I am silver and the website says I can not check in or book excursions until the 15th of April. Too much risk to leave the major excursions until then. There is a couple of smaller ones I am going to wait for - Malta - Historical Treasure Hunt, my mom's boat trip to Cinque Terre, might still book Athens through Disney.

Rome and Ephesus are already done.

My kids also convinced me to change Villefrance.

We are going to go the Monaco aquarium and ride the tourist train. I get to go to the Prince's care museum as part of the deal. I want a picture with Nigel Mansell's Ferrari. Well actually I really want to sit in it and make car noises. Think I can bribe a guard?

Jimmy Jack - did you know there was a company in Monaco that offers Ferrari Drives (as a passenger or driver). Maybe you could compromise with your kids and they'll let you go for a drive -- probably cheaper than the bribe... :cool1:

Is all of this open on Bastille Day (the day we're in Villefranche)?

It's quite ok. I had to go check myself! :) I could have made some really bad plans!!!:) :) :)

As for answering your initial question I think it is perfectly Okay. There is plenty of time. We looked into it when mapping out our trip but we felt between Rome, Athens and Ephasus we did not need to go especially after finding out all the good finds had been sent to National Archeological Museum in Athens. If the kids still want to do more of that we may well go but we think they we will be ready for the beach.

LOL - no I want the F1 car, not the street legal version. Actually I would like to take out Danny Sulllivan's 1983 Tyrell and recreate his fantastic Monaco drive.

Sorry, right, I meant from a transportation perspective ;)

Train schedule says it is operating on a sunday schedule.

This is the current Sunday schedule Villefrance sur mer to Monaco

Tara:

What a small world! My dh is from River Bourgeouis, tiny little town near St. Peter's. Whereabouts Cape Breton are you from? He'll be delighted to chat with someone from "home". He went to Dalhousie though, so lived in Halifax for a few years before moving out west.

I know where River Bourgeois is - I am from Port Hawkesbury, which is about a 25 minute or so drive away. You probably drove through it when you came over the Causeway. I'm looking forward to chatting with him too. LOL, all the way to Europe to chat with a fellow Cape Bretoner.

Tara:

What a small world! Of course I know Port Hawksbury! My brother-in-law and sister-in-law live near Evanston:) My SIL works at the Hospital.

I can't believe how many Canadians there are on this cruise!

Sig - I can't wait to chat with you and your husband. My mom has a lot of family in the Evanston area too.

These are the excursions we want to book:

ROME:
Jumping back into Eternal Rome

EPHESUS:

Can't decide between BEST OF EPHESUS or EPHESUS, DIDYMA AND MILETUS

(anyone doing either of these two and why did you pick?

MYKONOS:

Delos Island and then roaming around on our own.

MALTA:

Highlights of Malta

VILLEFRANCHE:

Monaco, monte carlo and Eze

ATHENS:

Acropolis, sightseeing, lunch and the archeologicial museum

FLORENCE:

Discovering Florence OR Florence and Museum of Opera de Duomos (can't decide!)

Anyone doing any of the same ones?

Tara:

Wow! Maybe we should go private and tell each other our real names!

Does anyone know if there are message boards for specific cruises for Carnival cruise lines. I tried cruise critic but could not find anything. My mother has decided to do back to back cruises but the first one is on the Carnival Legend.

We are going to redo Malta. Received a guidebook on Friday and after reading about 7,000 year old temples we are going to do Ghar Dalam, Hagar Qim, Hypogeam and Tarxien Temples

Does anyone know if we will be at the New Port in Tourlos or anchoring offshore and taking tender boats into the village for Mykonos?
