Yes, you can! We've done a few Mickey character meals: Chef Mickey's (at the Contemporary); Tusker House (at Animal Kingdom); and O'hana (at the Poly) ~ Tusker House was by far our favorite!! YOu also can see Daisy there ~ she can be hard to find in the parks!

We loved Tusker House. We were there in 2008 (I know, it seems like forever ago!), and the food/service was phenomenal. We did Chef Mickey's in 2011, and loved it, too, but I think we liked Tusker House better. :)

I have a question for all the veteran planners out there!

We are thinking of a mid-january 2014 trip and are looking to book a package when online booking is available this summer.

My question relates to making ADRs at the 180 day mark. What do you do if your 180 day mark comes before packages are actually available to book online? Do you just have to make one ADR per day and miss out on the 180+10 day benefit when you have a package? Thanks all and hope this makes sense!

Early planners! I've found my people! :yay: We've been tentatively planning this trip since the day we got back from the last one (Oct 2011) but I've been seriously planning since last summer. The trip went from being a week in a cabin at FW in October to a split stay at AoA and possibly AKL in early February. I'm still sad to be giving up my cabin but once I saw the Cars suite at AoA, it was a no brainer. My 4 year old son is Cars obsessed, he's going to flip when he sees it.

The kids are going to be almost 6 and almost 4 when we go and I'm already planning how we're going to tell them. I just ordered an embroidery machine (I've been wanting one for years) so I'm making them shirts and accessories for the trip. For Christmas we're getting a big box and putting all of the vacation stuff in it and at the bottom there will be a shirt for each of them that says something along the lines of "You're going to Disney World!" My son has been asking to go back for months and I keep telling him maybe someday. He has no idea something is being planned. Can you tell I'm way too excited about this? :rotfl2:

We are planning our net trip for the first week of June 2014. I'm hoping to do at least 7 full days. The kids really want to do a water park this time. We stayed offsite last trip. DH really loved the hotel we were at and though it was a great value. So I don't know if I can talk him into staying onsite. I graduate from college this May. I hope that I will be celebrating my first year of teaching full time. It was great to find this thread and see that others are planning their trips early as well!

An 8:10 AM ADR at Cape May Cafe...
Have to leave the AoA resort at 11 for the airport.
Will pack before going to ADR.

So, time from AoA to beach club, eating/characters, beach club to AoA...
Too close for comfort? Should we just not plan on a character breakfast on our departure day?

To be honest, the ONE form of exercise I really love is shoveling snow. I had a blast, and will go out again when my friend across the street comes out.

I had hoped to take the kids sledding. But the governor is on TV right now, begging people to stay off the roads. So I think we'll stay home today and go sledding tomorrow instead.

As to plans... just some quizzes to grade. And lots of playing in the snow!

We got over 24 inches of snow here. When you are done shoveling over there you are more than welcome to come over here to help shovel us out. Heck - I will even supply the shovel, and cookies, or wine :)

OK, true confessions:

I had a blast shoveling our 13 inches yesterday. I hung out with some neighbors and really enjoyed it.

But today I'm feeling it!

And I've promised the kids we would go sledding today.

My poor aching body will be relieved to get back to school tomorrow!!

No snow here in Virginia -- all we got was rain and lots of wind.

But I'm ready for spring anyway!

Spending today planning out this year's vegetable garden. So bring your spades and shovels down here and we'll put you to work. ;)

You are able to book packages before the 180 day mark. If you are waiting for a certain deal, that is different. You could book what you would without a deal. Make you ADRs, then change if a better special is released.

Book your resort now, at this year's prices. When the new prices come out over the summer, they'll adjust your prices.

That only leaves you a 3 hour window for dining and transportation. IMHO, that is too close for comfort. If transportation takes longer than it should, or breakfast takes longer than it should ... KWIM? If it were me, I probably wouldn't risk it.

HERE is a good thread I found on transportation from AoA to BC.

Does anyone know if the epcot flower festival is the same time every year?

We are planning first week of June, too (possibly last week of May into that first week)! How were the crowds that week? We have always stayed onsite, and will probably be off site next trip ~ do you mind sharing where you stayed?

So, here is a mini update ~ it looks like our Sea World/Aquatica vacation for this summer is going to work out! I'm really excited :) I haven't been to SW since I was a kid; I know my girls will love it. We have found a great condo to stay in; the pool is AMAZING! I hope we love it; we, well, DH is going to do a trial run to see how far of a drive it actually is to WDW, and if it is do-able, then we will stay there again next summer for our Disney trip. I'm almost excited about knowing where we will stay in 2014 as I am about the SW trip! We will probably also do a day at the beach ~ not sure which one, so if anyone has any suggestions, let me know.
