Fantasy February 16, 2013 - 7 Night Western Cruise Meet

Hey! Watch that Yankee hatin' stuff. LOL
Born and raised in the Boogie down Bronx!!!

:thumbsup2 Another Bronx born Yankee fan here!

I can't believe this snow - we have at least 30 inches of snow - my DH cleared our walkway and driveway late last night- and this morning, you would never know he had been out there. Like so many of you I am so glad this is happening now and not next week. Good Luck to those of you in New England - I see you have a few more hours ahead of you

Has anyone found out what movies are playing inboard???

This is what we were told when we called (they also said "subject to change")

Avengers, Brave, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, Finding Nemo, Lincoln and Wreck It Ralph

Now after this storm, I wonder how many of us will be seeing Nemo ;)

To everyone in the northeast tht got racked by Nemo. I hope you get your electric back soon and be safe. Also be safe when you shovel the snow a back back on the cruise would really be a drag. In Philly we lucked out and got only about an inch or two.

21 inches here! Still snowing! Light & fluffy. Never lost power which is the big thing.
Heading out in a little bit.
Packing the suitcase this afternoon

We plan on taking about 30 dollars in fives and mostly ones. Will that be enough for cash tipping for the cruise such as room service and other things that are not included as automatic gratuity.

Rob- I can't private message yet (not enough posts). We look forward to meeting you and Sue.
21 inches here as well.
Nancy and Bob

Just called my credit card company to let them know about traveling outside country they said their is a 3 percent fee added to your purchases outside the country. I thought this was crazy called another company they said the same thing and this was a charge all cc companies apply sometimes with a different percentage. Any one know about this. This is first time outside of country. Was wondering since Fantasy is registered in Bahamas will my ship account be charged like this if I pay with cc.

Yup. Most credit cards charge a 3% - 5% foreign transaction fee when used. This will happen even if you buy somethihng on the internet if the company is based outside of the USA. Whenever we travel we only bring credit cards that don't charge FTFs, and earn airline miles for travel and dining. My favorite is the Chase Sapphire Preferred followed by the Chase British Airways card.

Here is a list of credit cards off the top of my head that don't charge FTFs

Discover & Capital One cards:
All of them 0% FTF (unless something has changed recently and I haven't seen it on a travel hacker blog yet)

Chase: Sapphire Preferred, Ink Bold, Ink Plus, British Airways, Hyatt, Marriott Premier

Amex: Platinum, Centurion

Citibank: Thank You Premier, AAadvantage Executive, Hilton Honors Reserve

Went to the bank the other day
20 ones
10 fives
10 tens

Usually tip waiters, room attendant extra
We are doing Palo brunch,dinner
Couple private excursions
Room service

I said the same thing to DW when we were snow blowing. Might be till Wednesday till I see a snow plow though

Some of you will be heading down to WDW early in the week to start your trip so I wanted to post this now in case you do not get a chance to check FB or DIS. Your answers to my questions, your ideas and friendliness have made the planning for this first time cruiser so much easier and relaxing. So from the bottom of our hearts Thank You from Kevin and Lorraine.

Oh my goodness, I thought i was SO MUCH farther ahead than this!!!

That sure is a big to do list!!!! Good luck getting it all done!!! I had to laugh at the "notify schools of DSs' upcoming absences"....I had been telling DH to take care of that with the schools for a couple of months....he JUST did it last week!!! They want two weeks notice of vacation....I think we were a day shy of two full weeks notice. OOPS! Neither school had a problem since they know we are very involved parents and take their education seriously. :thumbsup2

Well i have never seen anything like this. All roads in Mass. closed. Trees down everywhere. Spent the night with no electricity listening to the wind, praying a tree didn't fall on my house. It is hard to believe that in a week I will be standing on deck, looking at a blue ocean. One good thing, after this I am not too picky about the weather we get! Anything is better than Nemo!

I hope you get power back quick....and I'm glad no trees fell on your house!

Oh my goodness!! Those poor snow plow drivers! We had a nasty storm here in NW Indiana in March 1998....my DH is a snow plow driver....I didn't see him for 6 days. He was working about 20 hours a day. :( I'm still not sure why I didn't insist that he buy me a snow blower with all that overtime! :confused3 I finally just got one two years ago.

To everyone I've quoted here that posted about all the snow that Nemo dumped on you....please be safe....don't over-do it with the shoveling, and drive carefully when you are finally able to get out.
