Early Check-in?

Sorry for posting a subject that may have been covered before, but after looking through all "early check in" posts. none say if checking in early (7AM) gives you a better chance to get the "first" cleaned room. Is there any way to help increase the odds?

I hope to do a Non-EMH park in the morning (8:00AM) , eat lunch, check in at PO-Riverside at 1:00 and get some sleep till 5:00, then do a park with EMH-E hours. FYI: that day will will be up at 3:00AM, so getting a nap at 1:00 is not as strange as it first sounds.

From the other posts it seems a room at 1:00 is nearly Nil, at 2:00 its about a 50/50 shot, and after 3 its very common, 4 is guaranteed.

We check in online and usually our room is not ready when we get there. We always take the same flight and arrive at our resort at 10 in the morning. However, in 2010 when we checked in at the desk our room was ready at 10. I don't think there is any way to know. :confused3

for me it always has - only once it did not - and that was OKW several ago - they have changed the rules since then.

when you get there ask for first ready room and see. now if you have asked for a certain view or room - then this won't work unless you are willing to change your requests.

I don't think online check in gives you a 1st choice ahead of anyone that is already there. In fact even though we did the online check in last time I don't think they had anything ready for us and we stood and watched them get everything together in our packet!LOL! I thought well why did we check in early online for! :confused3 I think it is if you show up in person earlier than the crowd, that will increase your chance for a clean room or a change of a room. The backlash of this is that alot of people could have checked out early and they haven't even started to clean all those the rooms yet! LOL! We also found that to be true when trying to find one near the pool! One we would have taken but not cleaned yet! It was to early. We could have waited! But...we did find another that workded out and was cleaned already! I was told when I arrived early and made a room change that it was an advantage of getting there early! You had more of a choice.

If you get there early and they were not full the night before, you might get a room that was empty the night before.

Your best bet is to call the resort directly the day prior to your trip and let them know you are coming in very early. They will try and put you in a room that is vacant the night before, if available. That way, your room will be nice and clean at whatever time you arrive :cool1:

We always check in anywhere between 9 am and 12 pm and have always gotten right into a room except 2 trips.

One trip, the computers at Pop were down so we had lunch in the food court and by the time we were done, the computers were back up and we were given a room. Added bonus, we were all given 1 Day tix.

The second time was at POFQ and our room wasn't ready yet. Added bonus this time was we were upgraded to a River View (actually river and pool since we had an awesome corner room overlooking the pool slide and boat dock/river).
