Be Our Guest - Late Night Reservations

Any experiences with late night dinner reservations? We have a 9:10pm reservation and hoping to arrive early... have dessert and wine...and get out in time for 10pm Wishes fireworks.

We just want to experience the new dining rooms... I'll keep trying for an earlier reservation to eat a full dinner and we will have lunch there too.

Questions:

(1) Has BOG been crowded late at night?
(2) Still a long wait to be seated that late in the evening? If we get seated soon, we hope to get out right at 10pm... or just skip Wishes that night.
(3) Any view of the fireworks from BOG? I don't think so.
(4) Does the Beast ever roam through the restaurant that late, close to closing time?

We had a 9pm. We tried to check in early and were told to come back at 8:45-15 minutes before our ADR. We were seated late by about 5 minutes; the place was packed. Service was slow to nonexistent. It took us 20 minutes to get our check when we were done eating.

Beast walked through to his room; he didn't stroll through the dining areas.

No view of Wishes. I wouldn't plan on seeing them that night. You might get lucky.

We have reservations at 8:00 and I thought Wishes was at 10:00 the night we're there. Even that seemed like pushing it since Disney TS meals seem to take forever. I just checked the schedule for the day we are there, and Wishes is now listed at 11:00 pm!

Maybe you'll get some pixie dust and they'll change the hours on your MK day too! :flower3:

1. When we went, it was slammed. Everything from the wait to check in to the length of time for our table to become active. It was slammed right past Wishes and it wasn't until about an hour after park close that it settled down. Even then, though, most tables were still occupied in the ballroom.

2. We showed up 20 minutes before our reservations, waited 10 minutes in line to check in, and we not seated until about 10-15 minutes past our reservation time. Our service was lightning fast, but the process to get in because so many people linger once their in (and tie up the people you check in with trying to get in) was long.

3. Not even in the slightest. You can hear the fireworks, but see none.

4. We were there well after close. He still did his march through the dining room, where he waved and walked through to the West Wing, but he did not interact with the tables. He went straight into the Study for a receiving line, which had a line of its own. There is no tableside interaction at all. With as close as the tables are, it wouldn't be possible for him to do so.

That being said, BOG was the most amazing dining experience I've ever had, hands down. I'd pass up Wishes anyday for it. And in fact, we did.

Thanks! We go to MK several times in a trip... and usually skip the fireworks once to do rides (less lines, and kind of fun on some rides). Seeing the Beast is not critical... we have seen Beast with Belle in Epcot (not sure if still there) who used to be a regular meet and greet near France.

I'm just curious about the dining rooms and would like to see them....since I hear the quick service lunch does not use all rooms.

we have a late night time also! I have been trying to get a reservation for about a month and then yesterday a late night reservation opened up so we took it! Can't wait to see it! we will be there 4/2:cool1:

FYI, I'm pretty sure quick service lunch does use all 3 rooms. We were able to go into all 3 rooms when we ate lunch there last December. I'm sure someone on here will correct me if I'm wrong. :) I think dinner doesn't use the rose room, though I've heard conflicting reports about that. Anyway, if you just want to see all 3 rooms, lunch may do you just fine.

I have an 8:10 reservation for my birthday in April, and am hoping I'll be out in time for 10 p.m. Wishes, so I'm also curious about other people's experiences with late dinner times.

Just to clarify, for dinner (whether early or late) the Beast walks through and there is a receiving line for pictures? I also made the late ressie (9:15) when they opened for June this week. But really on the fence about it. Not sure about eating a big meal so late. We would prefer lunch, but not sure how long the line will be in June! I will keep trying for an earlier dinner res. tho.

Yes, for dinner there is a receiving line to meet the Beast and get pictures. Although our group enjoyed the pictures, this was the worst meal our entire trip and honestly the worst meal we've had. We were very disappointed. However we also had lunch and it was wonderful! BOG for lunch will now be a must for us.

I was there after close, I saw Beast after close, yes, he was there. Pictures, no autographs, great interaction.

I'd say it's worth it. It was, hands down, the best meal of our last trip. One of the best meals of all of our past trips. We are still talking about it.

My mother and I have decided to go to Disney in April and haven't even booked the trip yet but I somehow managed 9:30 reservations that first night we are there. Glad I didn't wait to officially book because there is now nothing for dinner the 4 days we will be there.

That isn't correct. Lunch uses all three dining rooms. At dinner, the Rose Room is closed to guests (they use it for staging and it's blocked off with curtains, so you won't get much more than a glimpse) and only the Ballroom and West Wing are used.

So do you only see the beast at dinner?

Yes. He does not appear at lunch. And, as noted, he literally walks through. He follows one path between the opening where the Rose Room is, walks into the West Wing, waves, turns around and walks back out. He doesn't visit any tables and if you blink you'll probably miss him.

I'm not able to call dinner a great meal. Loved the appetizers, the entrees were ho hum to reportedly bad (the pork I didn't order so I don't really know how bad it was, but neither person who had it liked it.)

we have had late-night dinners there twice , once in January (MLK Jr. week, after the holiday) and again this past Saturday and did not experience any issues whatsoever.

First time we had reservations for 15 minutes before park closing, 2nd time was 15 minutes before Wishes. Both times we were done in just about exactly an hour. Beast was available for photos during the meal...and he walked through the middle of the room twice (like he's just walking through, doing a "royal" wave, on his way to his break, and then back to his reception room. He does not visit tables, or even stop for kids...he just walks through. The servers told us that right away when we were seated.

We were not allowed to check in early either time...but we were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation time. Service was excellent both times.

Food was excellent both times (appetizers...french onion soup, and the meats selection....entrees, pork chop, ratatouille, and cornish hen...desserts: chocolate cream puff, lemon cupcake, strawberry cupcake, and triple chocolate dessert) The pork chops were wonderful...moist, cooked perfectly. The mac & cheese that comes with the chop is out of this world good. My adult son had the ratatouille...he loved it. The cornish hen was good flavored, but just a tad dry. Everyone loved the desserts, and the appetizers. The 2nd time we ate there, every table got a plate of "the gray stuff"...I suspect they had made too much of it, and were serving it instead of tossing it out because after we and all the nearby tables had already had dessert the servers came out with serving platters of plates of "the gray stuff" . Earlier, they had just brought it out for special occasions (saw several go by with birthday candles)

BOG is the only place at WDW to currently meet Beast. He no longer meets at EPCOT, it is now Belle by herself. The only place to just meet Belle for a photo and autograph is at EPCOT now. You can see her at Enchanted Tales but there are no autographs and she no longer appears at CRT.

We are looking forward to our ADR here in June!

I really enjoy pics with the characters and I am looking forward to getting one with Beast. I hope he continues to greet guests at dinner.

Thank you for all the really great information in this thread!

:goodvibes

I am really debating our ADR here. It's late, 8:50pm, no ay my youngest can wait for dinner.
We're thinking maybe a QS dinner & then going to BOG for dessert & a glass of wine maybe. I'm still undecided.

We have an ADR at 9:10 on May 29!! Wishes is at 10 that night, so I'm pretty sure we'll be missing that. But, we'll be out in time for MSEP. We can catch the fireworks on another night.
We ate there last Dec...it was fun. The handler for the Beast was a bit 'rude' though. We were in a group of about 5..all adults. The Beast stays for photos until the last person leaves his restaurant...that's what we were told. So, we get in line, after dinner. The park had already closed by this time. One of us went up to the Beast and got her photo...then the handler noticed we were all together and told us that we had to do one group shot...the line behind us was too long for each of us to have an individual photo taken with the Beast. Ummm, there were, maybe, 6 people behind us in the line. Very disappointing. I may have done a Photopass shot there, but not of the entire group. And the others in the group felt the same way.
Other than that, the experience was a good one. I think we may try to get lunch there during our May trip.

We plan on doing this at least once, just because we want to meet Beast. We're going to make two dinner reservations and unless we are blown away by the food, we will only be having dessert at the second reservation
