Any rumor when 2014 dates come out?

Alright, I don't want to go off topic, but I HAVE to give my distaste for your school system NOT giving y'all Good Friday off! It breaks my heart to see the direction we're going.

Please forgive my hijacking;) Continue discussing all things cruising 2014!

Growing up in California in the late 70s and 80s (graduated in 90) I can tell you the only reason we got Good Friday was because we had spring break the week before Easter. Always had to be back at school the Monday after Easter Sunday. Always made traveling difficult!

On a side note, I'm waiting for the Alaska and Med dates to be released....what are people's experiences here on opening day prices vs booking a little later? We have a 5/9 cruise and I wanted to do an OBB but I am so afraid if the prices come out (like rumor says, next week), will they be way up by May? I am making myself crazy over this all :faint:

Can you book on opening day then rebook onboard if it's cheaper?

For the 2013 Greece and Venice itineraries, the prices went up by the hour. The 7-day med that i have booked on day 1 still has the same price. So it depends on what you want.

Yes, for standard cabins. Not sure about concierge.

I was told that the concierge deposit isn't refundable but IS transferrable. You can move the $$ to a different cruise or stateroom category. Disney just won't give it back to you. So does that mean it can be used to reshop?

If the speculation is true and I can book on the 13th, what time would that mean I can start booking?

I know, I should know this but how many times can I move my dummy cruise. I have one booked for November of this year but I was hoping to go in 2015. Will Disney let me move it twice?

I thought it was the 11th, did i miss the speculation post? :) is it the 13th now. I am waiting for to book an Alaska cruise in 2014.

The 13th when we can start booking or when they release schedule?

Well, my understanding of the rumor is, the announcement of the new itineraries will be on the 11th. Gold & Platinum CC members can book on the 12th, and everyone else on the 13th.

that's what I understand since I didn't know it didn't include silver for early bookings. No one knows what time they open up?

We leave on our first Disney cruise next month, so I'm not up to speed on why there is a need to book immediately when the new itineraries come out. Is it a pricing thing, or availability? I need to learn!!!

Pricing, typically cruise prices are their lowest on opening day (not just DCL, but all cruiselines). As space fills on a cruise, prices rise.

Availability, if you have a specific room you want, your best chance to get it would be opening day.

When are you looking to go? I'm trying to get whichever one falls over July 4th 2014

July 4th would be ideal for us too, but if the prices are too high compared to other dates then we are flexible. Kids have summer off, which would mean we take a week to 10 days off, should be doable :) But July 4th will be fanatstic :cool1:

Early June tends to have better pricing I've noticed. I also seem to remember sales popping up during that timeframe. I seem to remember a kids sail free promo last year I think for the early June Alaska trips.

They start making bookings at 8 a.m. ET. You need to call in since they won't be available online until the silver/general public booking release.
