Feb 2013 car rental

Why oh why are the rates still SOOOOOO high??? :confused3

Our dates are 2/21-2/26. We dont HAVE to have a car, but it would be nice.

Sorry if anyone has already posted this but I just found this guys - for NATIONAL:

Save up to 20% and receive a FREE weekend day when you rent a compact through full-size car in the United States and pay with your Visa® card. Requires a 3-day minimum/5-day maximum rental with a Saturday overnight keep.

Request Contract ID 5027112 and Coupon Code NF5594ZDP.

Valid 09/01/2012 to 02/28/2013

Just changed my rental... got a mid size SUV for 9 days from Tampa through Dollar for $236 total.

That KLM code for National didn't charge taxes. Is this because KLM is foreign? Do we need anything other than our KLM Flying Blue membership number? We are from the US and not flying KLM. Will this pose a problem?

Really sad to see that the rates haven't come down yet and I arrive on Friday. I do have a one day rental to get me from Tampa to Orlando for $60 all in. But I would sure like to keep the car for the week...but no way at these prices!!!!

Every time I see a new post on this thread I think "This is it! Someone is surely posting about some great deal now!"

Nope. :sad2: The rates are insane. National sent me an email with a special for our trip dates yesterday. It came to over $1000 for a standard car. Are they serious? Does anyone ever pay those prices?

Would you mind sharing what information you enter into the contract ID and coupon ID fields to use the KLM code?

Thanks.

I did manage to get my one way rental to get me from Tampa to Orlando for under $35 all in with Budget thru carrentalsavers. The lowest for Alamo was $58. One more day to go - doesn't look like I'll have a car for the week with these prices - can't even get under $200 :scared1:

No good deals renting on WDW property either

Hi There,

Regarding the good rates for Alamo question?

We have up to 50% savings right now as a special offer for February.

Thanks :cool1:

Got an SUV booked for $236 total for 9 days... today I can get a mid-size car for $185 for 9 days... should I switch? decisions, decisions....

Not sure what size vehicle you are looking for but a midsize is $242 inc taxes with Budget using BCD x474200 (travelocity code) and e-coupon MUGZ029 for $30 off. Note coupon is applied when return vehicle.

I'm going Feb 11-15 and the prices haven't dropped at all. The best I've been able to get is $195 total for a compact at Dollar I booked weeks ago. I don't have a Saturday overnight stay, though, so that may be affecting the prices.

Thanks for looking. I got an error message that said that coupon cant be used with that code :( but its still a better rate with the code!

I'm also going those same dates and I kept trying all different codes and combinations (which takes a Lot of time!). This morning I went on Priceline (Name your own price) and got a full-size for $185 total. I bid $25 per day and it was immediately accepted. Perhaps try even a bit lower? I wish I had! If not accepted, you can bid again in a day. But even $185 total I thought was great as the lowest I could find was through Dollar for $241. I'm through Avis (on site) and glad because they don't charge for spouse as an additional driver. I've done Priceline many times in the past and it always seems to be the best deal for me.
