I am new to my iphone 4S - hey it took me a while to get up the nerve to use a new style cell phone. It is still a bit confusing to me.

Question 1:
How do you place an APP on an Apple 4S cell iphone?

Question 2:
What is the best iphone APP to use in WDW and what are the best features of the APP ?
SUB Question 2:
How much does the best iphone APP to use in WDW cost?

Sorry if my questions sound :confused3 ... but I am trying to learn the new phone.

If you touch the button that says "app store" on your phone, you will be able to browse, install, and use new apps on your phone. Do you see that button? Thats step 1. :)

I'm not sure what the best apps are but there's quite a few free ones I've downloaded for wait times, park hours and menus .Most will give you basic info and you will have the option of upgrading for a fee, usually between $1-5.

Search "Disney World" in the app store and it will bring up a bunch of stuff. Download the free stuff and if you like it, you can upgrade. If not, just delete!

Hope that helps.

Used Mobile Magic while we were there earlier this week and it's all you need.

Mobile Magic, the My Disney Experience one from Disney while inside the park (if it works, it crashed repeatedly on me last month) and Lines by Touring Plans (paid app but you get a discount if you have a current copy of The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World in hand to quote a page number) and also the Undercover Tourist Free one as well. Of them all the only ones that I have had consistant luck with are Touring Plans and Mobile Magic.

ETA once you purchase the Touring Plans one you can load it on multiple phones. I did this with my teens and they have also used it on several trips. TP has apps for Android and BlackBerry. as well

Three weeks ago, I could not connect to My Disney Experience while in the park (AK) at all. I used Lines via 3g; I could not get the in-park WiFi to work.

Park wifi was hit or miss the first of January as well, had to repeatedly reconnect and lost it completely on some occasions. MDE would freeze completely up for me or tell me that I was in DTD when I was sitting on the Boardwalk!

We are at WDW now and I have been using My Disney Experience on my iPhone 5. There is only a 3G network here so it loads slower than the LTE I have at home. But it has been very handy to have for show times, wait times and a map. We could check a wait time before heading over to that attraction.

SO you haven't experienced the freeze on your iPhone 5?
Mine froze repeatedly while browsing available dining options near my location back in January.

I have had no problems with MDE on an iPhone 5.

No problems with freezing in my experience just a few days ago.

Is mobile magic the same as my disney experience?

They are both "official" Disney apps. However, DMM appears to be on its way out, while MDE is the new app and appears to be designed with the new MyMagic+ initiative heavily in mind.

I went in October and the wifi at the parks was spotty. Eventually I gave up and used 3G.

I used the touring plans Lines app. An advantage of that over the official Disney ones is that it will load faster if you're stuck with the 3G network, since there are no images (just wait times).

I've found this to be true on my last two visits, both in October and January. I also like the way you can quickly hit refresh on the Lines app without having to do a lot of steps. I had LTE service a few times I think maybe in AK but it was spotty. Also it will boot you off and you'll have to sign back in too. It's still hit and miss at the resorts as well. I've used the wifi at GF, CR, Poly and AK.

I like Lines. I think you have to subscribe to touringplans.com to get it. The subscription is like $7 or $12. There is a discount if you have a UG.

We use My Disney Experience and had no problem with it on our last trip and the wait time were pretty darn close. One thing I like to do it check wait times here at home during a time period we are considering going the next year. I know it varies but I can get a really good idea of what the crowds may really look like during that week. Sorta makes me feel like I am there too :goodvibes
