DVC Occupancy Thread Part 2

So, reading back through this thread, again...LOL

5 can legally stay in ANY of the 1 bedroom villas, but 5+ 1 infant can legally stay at AKL and BLT??

I just want to make sure I understand...;)

But not in the AKV Value villas. Those are four plus one. No fifth person aged three or older.

And, in reality, most of the one bedrooms sleep four plus one. BUT, DVC currently allows a fifth person, only they do not provide anything for the fifth person. No cot, no rollaway, no sheets, no pillows, no towels. At any point in time, DVC could go back to four plus one, not a fifth person.

AKV (but not Value villas), BLT and OKW all have the extra sleeper chair in the living room.

There's "legally" actually contractually, then there's what is and is not allowed. What you post as legal is really outside contractual but allowed. It could change but your post is currently the way it is and I doubt it will change. The only other issue is that OKW is being treated by MS as are AKV and BLT for other than the value rooms and that 5 plus one under 3 are being allowed there.

Yeah- I don't mean "legally" literally, I just don't like to break rules! That's the teacher in me! ;)

I understand, I wasn't correcting you simply trying to be more specific so as either not to confuse others or to avoid the posts making the distinction. Guess I failed in that attempt, LOL.

Ok, perfect! Thanks for clarifying! When my dd18, DS7 and I go- we all 3 like to sleep in the king bed...well, they like to...haha. When I bring my girlfriend down the street, that lost her husband 2 years ago suddenly at age 36, and her DD7, I don't charge her at all to use the room with us, so she and her DD sleep on the sleeper. I love them and want to help them out, so we have an annual tradition of going to WDW together (without my DH), us with our kiddos. It's a fun girls trip, and they wouldn't be able to do it, otherwise. I am glad I can spread the magic!

BUT, my DD18 doesn't usually go with us, because the trip is during the school year and she cannot miss that much HS...AP classes and all. However, she is graduating in June and she will be going with us on our trip this summer before heading off to University of Alabama on a FULL scholarship (room and board included...I had to put that in there becuz I am so proud of her- chemical engineering), thus the 5 in a room. So I wanted to make sure that was legit, I don't like to break rules or try to bend them in my favor. I want to be fair and square. TMI...I know, but there's my little story! LOL

That's just awesome! You have every right to be proud! Congratulations and the best of luck to her - although it seems she makes her own luck by working hard. :)

You should be very proud of her, except maybe for her choice of schools (;)). My son goes to LSU. But we used to live in Alabama several years ago after we left Texas. Chemical Engineering is a great field to go into. Big future there. She'll be able to take you to WDW in a few years.

Roll Tide, LOL.

But my team beat Alabama this year it football. Gig'em, Aggies!! (And I do excuse my son for going to LSU).
At least they're now in the SEC. They just have to show they can do it consistently.

Haha! I graduated from University of Texas, so she's def not going to my alma mater, but an awesome choice anyway! Where did u live in Texas? We are from Dallas, and my family was from Highland Park.

I am hoping for her to do a coop program with WDW and we can all visit her and have a great time! She wants to work for Disney or be doing something related to Disney...she already told me she is getting married at the GF, so we are all for that, of course! Lol

I also graduated from Univ of Texas- Austin and Univ of Houston-Clear Lake (was working my way through the Southwest Conference at the time). Lived in Arlington and Ft Worth, Austin, College Station, Houston and Humble.

My son also wants to do the college program or internship with Disney in Landscaping.

But I think we're getting off the DVC Occupancy - sorry, my fault.

No, my fault...I started with the U of Alabama info...haha awesome!!!! They have a great coop program!! :) Nice to see a fellow Texan on the dis!! :) Hook 'em!

Sooooo confused! If I have two adults, two seven year olds, and two infants, can we stay in ANY one bedroom?? The infants don't count anywhere else and we don't need the extra sleeper bed. If they only allow four + an infant and not four + 2 infants...this doesn't really make sense to me. Thanks for any info on this situation!

You should be able to stay in a one bedroom at OKW, AKV (except Value rooms) and BLT. Those 1 bedrooms sleep 5 + an infant. Yes, infants do count toward the fully allowable capacity. Otherwise, a party of 4 adults with 4 kids under 3yo would probably be trying to squeeze into a studio.
