December 2013 Pin Code Watch

Can someone explain to me what these PINs are and how they work. We will be at WDW Dec 7th thru Dec 13th and a Disney Cruise prior to that. I would love a discount!:cool1:

Question.....Our family is going Dec 1-7 this year. In the past we have always had to go in July due to timing issues. I have heard (TP, etc) that the crowds are substantially improved during early December. Being a visual person does anyone know where I can find park images that would show crowd sizes? I am not trying to be lazy just too low on bandwidth and data plan remaining to do a quality search.

Very excited to join. We are going 12/26-1/3 busy busy busy time of year but excited to be able to go back. You know it is a busy time of year when you can stay (rent) at BWV one bedroom for the same rate you are paying at POR.

We love the Poly but over $700 a night:scared1:

12/26-12/30 POR
12/30-1/3 BWV renting from DVC owner

I've had to change my dates three time between my hubby's schedule and mine. Hopefully, these dates will stick now. We are arriving on Dec 14th and staying until Dec 19th. I have already got a deposit made for POFQ but I would love to get a discount of any kind. Our trip price is currently around $2600.

Welcome!

i received an email the other day from Disney Destinations (usually get excited when they come from there!), but I couldn't read it - normally I'm asked if I want to show the images, but it didn't ask this time, so I have no idea what the email was about other than I could read a couple of things.

Did anyone else get an email the other day with this type of issue?

When did you receive it? I received an email and had no problem opening it. It might not have been the same one.

When I said I've never had that happen, I was referring to the system asking for my pin code, but while we're on the subject...that's weird. How do they expect people to know about a code that they didn't mail or email? If they don't tell you when you ask, why even bother giving the code? On our most recent trip my parents paid and they looked up codes for all 3 families for me. Only my brother had a code and we wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't asked. I've asked about codes at least 5 or 6 times in the past few years and I've never been told they couldn't check. I'm glad, because I would have just hung up and called back to talk to a different CM, lol.

I've been hearing that CM's wouldn't look for a PIN any longer, so I decided to call. The CM I spoke with checked under my name and everyone in my party. Unfortunately, nothing. :sad1:

Bummer :sad2: Maybe, I will give it a shot and just see if they will tell me then!!

Hello everyone! We're looking at returning to the world Dec. 5th until the 14th. We're hoping for free dining and will stay at POR, though any discount will help.

I'm worried there be an issue with a discount for those dates as in the current BB offer my dates are complete blacked out, so I'm hoping that doesn't hinder public discounts.

Okay, so curious now, if the BB is blacked out for those dates :confused3, has anyone seen or heard of anyone getting a BB for the week before Christmas? I'm trying not to worry to much :worried:, but I may have to switch resorts if there is no discount, which then I would switch to POR (want to try it anyways, but love my BC :lovestruc )!!

Booked our vacation today for AoA. I can't wait. I doubt there will be codes for the week after Christmas but we're still going!

I had no problem getting a discount off our ASMo resort in 2011 and 2012 and that's about the best I hope for to be honest. Using the Disney VISA, which I upped to the 2% return paid for our meals in December 2012 and its looking like it will pay for the resort as well when we go in 2013:thumbsup2Along with the TIW card, we do nicely in getting a cost-effective annual trip and I don't sweat about pin codes (because I never seem to get one in 20 years of trips):lmao:The most difficult pieces to our trips are ADRs at Ohana's and the Terrace Dessert Party:rotfl2::rotfl2:

We may just be in this group, my husband starting a new job the end of last year..We are not sure on vacation time it may be after a year..sooo if that is the case then we will be going Dec 7th-15th...

It was either the 5th or 6th, can't remember - I'm not going to worry about it, it didn't look like the standard pin code emails I have gotten previously. It looked like it was more informative than anything - I know there was something on there about ordering a DVD.

Oh, don't worry, discounts for December have historically come out Jul-Aug timeframe. What I could find on Mousesavers.com was it looks like a free dining offer was offered for the first couple of weeks of December, then it looks like a 5 - 30% room discount follows up until a couple of days before Christmas. AP holders and FL residents have been able to get this discount right up to Christmas Eve.

There is also the option of using AAA, if you have a membership, that will usually provided, I think a 10 - 15% discount.

Well, we are going from December 20-January 2, as of now....Im watching as well!

Booked our vacation today for AoA. I can't wait. I doubt there will be codes for the week after Christmas but we're still going!

If you would like to share your dates, I can add you to the list :-)

Good to know ;) Thanks for the information!!! I will now just wait popcorn::!!

We will be there on Nov 30 - Dec 7th! Really excited - this is our 2nd time to be at Disney during the Christmas season, but our first ever stay on property. We are trying to go all out to make this the most magical vacation considering it will be the last vacation to Disney for us as a whole family (daughter will be going off to college in a few short years and we have a few other places we want to visit over the next couple years). It will also be our youngest 3 children's first time flying - so needless to say I am wanting to save a little money anywhere possible! :goodvibes Hoping for a free dining code for our family of 6...it would end up saving us a tremendous amount of money!

We are planning on a trip December 26-Jan 2nd. We stayed at AoA this last Christmas and I'm up for it again. But if there's a free dining or anything we'll upgrade our resort. Is there usually a code for that late into the year?
