We also won't PIF until we have to, and even then it's going on the Disney Visa (w/ 6mos no interest), so won't be "truly" paid until about August. Very jealous of those of you that are already done with that unpleasant financial piece:headache:

Also did our taxes today... at least most of them. Still waiting on a couple of forms but it shouldn't change much. For the first time in a decade we owe $$. Ironically, we owe almost exactly what our refund has been in years past. I've known this was coming all year and had it in the budget, but somehow seeing it on the screen "for real" has given me a whole new level of anxiety! But maybe a small measure of relief too, since my worst fear was that I had WAY underestimated what we would owe, and we'd have to cancel Disney to make up for it. Of course I was secretly hoping too that I had overestimated, but no such luck. Our trip should be safe, though :goodvibes

Southwest just posted really good fares. We booked our flight yesterday from Nashville. I know there's a lot of airfare anxiety, so go get 'em!

We just nabbed our airfare yesterday too, on Southwest! Got $220 nonstop round trip per person out of Long Island, so pretty happy about that! :goodvibes

I cant believe these prices! It never goes under $350 one way for me. I've been looking for probably 6 months. I already booked but i still look in case they ever go down.......

Woohoo!!!!! Add my family to April 2013!!!!! Me, DH, DS8, DS6, Sister and BIL will be at All Star Sports (per request of my boys) April13-20!! Can not wait!

Sometimes I wish we had booked a package, so I would be obligated to pay in full in advance... It might take away some of DH's sticker shock after we get there.
Our trip is a room-only, so we don't pay in full until we check-in at the resort.

Don't feel bad....the prices from CT haven't gone down AT ALL either. I have been stressing over these plane fares for months until I finally bit the bullet and bought our tix. I'm just glad to have them I guess, although if they went down that would be great! I'll keep checking but I'm not holding my breath!

I like to mitigate the sticker shock by spreading the payments out. Once I book (room only), I figure out how much per month I have to pay to be PIF a couple of months before the trip and just work it into our monthly budget. :thumbsup2

I had our room only for April PIF around the 1st of the year, and now DH will never get hit with the full amount. :rotfl:

Josh at EasyWDW updated his April crowd calendar. I looked only at my dates (4/12-4/19) but I do see that the overall resort crowd levels on Monday and Tuesday (4/15 and 4/16) bumped up from a 5 to a 6. I haven't seen a similar move from Touring Plans. Here's the current easyWDW calendar.

We too follow easyWDW.com and noticed the update. After Easter isn’t as “uncrowded” as it used to be, nor is the first week of December for that matter, but still far better than July. We went last April and were surprised by the crowds, not terrible, but there were still a lot of people… If you go with Josh’s (easyWDW.com) recommendation of park choice and get there for rope drop (or early character breakfast) you will have a great experience. If you can’t fathom getting up early on vacation, enjoy your rest, but don’t complain about the crowds when you arrive with the rest of the “sleep-ins”. For some the "sleep-in and stay late" plan works well, but not for us.

Disney is popular year round and a good strategy in the morning makes for the best trip for us. We can go back to the resort and relax at the pool and return for the evening entertainment or simply slow down at the park and take in the magic that is Disney.

See everyone in April (12-18) and Dream Cruise (18-21)!!

Mike :wizard: DW princess: DS (5 ) pirate: DMIL princess:

First visit 1976, Pre-2010 too many off sites to remember, WDW 2/2010 BC CL, Disneyland GC 12/2010, WDW 4/2012 POLY TPV, WDW 7/2012 (off site), WDW 12/12 POP and 4/2013 POLY with Disney Dream cruise!

we're early birds, up by 6:00 a.m. people. I can't imagine not getting to a park at rope drop. I would have anxiety!

Us too, 8am would be really sleeping in in our family! And not likely to ever happen at Disney. We are always at RD every day, and amEMH when they offer it.

On our last day, we have a 7:30am ADR at Cape May, and I'm already stressed that we probably won't make RD if we decide to go to MK afterwards...and so was thinking I guess we'll just have to go to Epcot instead. DD asked if it was because they wouldn't let us in if we got there "late"... Lol! She's right, I guess it wouldn't be the end of the world. But it would be weird... like there would already be people inside-eeek!

We're looking at 24 inches today....I'm home with the girls because school is closed. This should be a good day for some Disney planning, spreadsheet tinkering...:goodvibes

Bring it, little guy!!! Stay warm!!
