Anyone seen the new bus colors?

I like the change. One thing not mentioned in this thread is that the paint a supposed to be more reflective making the busses safer at night.

I don't like it at all; very dull looking but I would be interested to see how the new uniforms go with this new style. Can anyone post a pic of the new uniforms, please. Thanks!

I, for one, like the new busses. Too many bright colors and character silhouettes plastered all over make it look tacky.

I see both points of view. How about we keep the new colors, get a Mickey Silhouette that way its still "Disney" but not overly done AND the big one....get matching monorails, like the classic , retro style one shown on the other post? I think that would be cool!

I wonder if Iger had a viewing stand built and had multiple busses in different paint schemes driven by him while he chose which he liked?

That's what Eisner did.

They're the WDW busses. They aren't the monorails or some other good transportation option. They should be as unseeable as possible so we're not reminded of them.

Kind of early 60s retro. Classic red, white, and black Mickey colors.

~Thanks for posting this! At first glance, I hated the bus, but now I see how it's all tied together with the history of the monorail, so I'm just indifferent to it! I hope they complete the look by painting the monorails, too! When I think of Florida, I like to think of sunshine & tropical colors. I guess that's too cliche' lol, because the new colors are in stark contrast of that notion, which is probably the point. :goodvibes

I agree with the posters who say its not "Disney". Needs something...it's rather boring IMHO. The old way was very Disney.

We could go back to this! I remember when the current busses were coming out. They looked awesome compared to the old reddish stripe.

I'm definitely not a fan. The old ones were more fun looking. This says business convention all over it.

I like the retro styles of the Cruise Line and Magical Express coaches in their respective liveries, but it is going to take me a little time to get used to this. I really like the idea of a new look but I think they could have gone with a flashier design for the Transports. Overall, they will grow on me and I will be anxious to ride them when I get down there on my next trip in November!

:drive:

~At least, the bus looks kind of cool at night with the "Tron" like effect. :goodvibes

Yup. I remember those buses quite well. You can even see in that picture the less faded square of paint on the line above the front wheel where the old Route Flag was placed.

As a bit of cool history....

As you can see, in order to get to the MK Everyone used to route thru the TTC, even resort guests. It wasn't until the early 90's that the MK Bus loop came into existance and resort buses started dropping off at the front of the park.

I remember when the TTC was really, the transportation AND ticket center. Not just the ticket booths for the MK. When the "new" old busses came out (the Disney down the side in script) everyone was wowed. Heck I remember when those Orion buses were still nice on the inside :rotfl2:!

I do like the new design for its classy, retro look but I still think it needs disneyfied a bit.

Back in the 80's and early 90's people didn't care or complain what the buses looked like because, you know, it's just a bus.

This post made me laugh out loud this morning. Thank you sir, for seeing the forest and not the trees, something that's not always easy on this board where every decision is picked apart ad nauseum.

~Thanks! This is super cool, I love this! Wow, we really have it good, today! :rotfl: :goodvibes
