Yes!

Here are some of things that I remember:

The best banana stuffed french toast, scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, fried eggs with green tomatoes, sausage, fried bananas and home fries.

It's a great buffet breakfast.

That sounds delicious! How far in advance does this need to be booked? If you are staying on rented points does the owner need to call for you or can you just call the concierge #..? TIA! :goodvibes

Thanks for the info. Does the buffet have any hot items?

There is a TR on the DVC section where a woman and her family stayed CL at AK and did the Sunrise Safari. She has extensive pictures of the buffet and lots of pics of the lounge offerings. It's called 13 glorious days at Christmas. ..

I was going to try a massage when we were there in Jan but choked at the prices. $180 for a 50 min Swedish! I'm all for paying for quality but that left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm hoping that since we stayed during the switch from the old company (Nicky Bryant?) to wdw there was a miscommunication.

Hi everyone!
Joining in! I have been reading this thread and it's great. We are going to AKL the first week in June and are so excited! :cool1:

One question - does AKL have a spa (for massages)? I couldn't seem to find info on that.

Zahanati Spa and Fitness Center is located at Jambo House.

Way back in 2004 I had a facial and an aromatherapy massage. From what I remember, I enjoyed them both. At that time, I thought the price was consistent with other spas.

...didja ask Brandi to add you to the list? :thumbsup2
No, erm, do I do that here? :)

We are going from 6/1/13-6/9/13 and there are 4 of us. We're driving down from ATL. :goodvibes
Yup. I've never used it though...
Thank you!

Yikes! I'll need to find out how much for certain...I'd kill to get a massage. I work constantly and need (strongly want) it! =)

Ooo aromatherapy massage. Sounds awesome! We are going to just hang out at the resort at least one of the days so I'm going to look into the spa for sure.

I say a last day, no park, massage day!!!

Wish I'd thought of that while I was there... :)

Sounds awesome to me!

This is our very first trip to Disney, let alone to AKL. I'm thinking of making reservations at Boma for dinner. Does this sound like a good idea? I've heard the food is good...?

Well I for one am pretty darn excited I finally decided to bite the bullet and rent DVC points at Kindani Village for our June trip. :yay:

We have a standard studio. Can anyone recommend a good area to request for a room? Want to be close to the lobby.

What time does Johari treasures open in the morning so that I can grab my morning coffee?

The front desk will be able to help me buy park pass and add them to my KTTW card correct? I don't have to go to guest services at the parks to do this right?

The food at Boma is AMAZING! We eat there 2-3 times every trip, even the short 4-5 day trips!

So the spa is no longer a Niki Bryan spa? I'm sending DH & DSs to the Atlanta Braves Training Camp at WWoS one day of our trip (they're playing our favorite team The Phillies while we're down there!) - I'm thinking a SPA DAY FOR MOM would be divine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wanyama (Sunset) Safari - Starts at 4PM, takes place on AK grounds, runs about 2 hours and includes dinner at Jiko served family style with other safari guests. Runs about $200pp, a little less for CL guests.

Can you do the Wanyama safari if you're not staying at AKL?

I have stayed with the kids once in a standard view room at AKL. Love the resort. DOing the math if i can book bounce back at 35% while i am there in 3 days i could potentially get AKL club level for $106 more than my current price for BWI SV.

Would I be able to book a bounce back offer if I'm staying in a rented AKV room?

I will definitely try the zebra domes then! :goodvibes

Can I get some opinions? We got the standard room for 8 nights but I'm still trying to decide if we want savannah view. The difference is $1400 and my kids will be 6 and 8 years old. I'm thinking the money could be better spent elsewhere but I also don't want to miss out on it if it's the most awesome thing ever. I just don't know how much time we will spend in the room...tough choice.

ok, quirky question....

We are staying in a studio, I know it will have a coffee pot, and I know mousekeeping only comes every 4 nights.... can I ask for more coffee? Is there a charge for it?

Are you staying on points or a cash ressie? If its cash then you get Mousekeeping every night & all the free coffee replenishment that you want. If you're DVC or renting DVC points, then you can purchase a "coffee pack" for $3 from Mousekeeping.
