WDW Commando Club

I was just reading the Disney news, and I may have stumbled on the answer to something that has been bugging me since the Nov trip:confused3

During Nov while collecting Transportation Cards you may remember I discovered that a new 26 series was out, now my question is What is the new card:confused3, after seeing the Disney News today that they are starting a new paint scheme for the busses (a silver & red retro look), Could this be the new card added to the Transportation cards:confused3, I guess I'll have to wait till someone actually gets the new card and confirm what it is, but basically it can only be a bus or boat card, unless they added the parking lot tram:confused3

The tram, I vote for the tram:lmao:

So glad that I found this thread! I am a self-admitted commando and love to plan everything!! I think that I sometimes I kind of scare people though because I start to talk fast and get excited and and my excitement just kind of bubbles over! Anyway, I have planned quite a few Disney trips for others including our own. Can't wait to keep reading all of the responses thus far!! :happytv: I have finally found my own people!! ::yes::

I do the same thing! Glad I'm not the only one... :hyper:

After searching Restaurants.com I found many great places to eat in the Orlando Area. Since I'm going to have a few days next trip that we visit other places I think I might give at least one of them a try, these are my choices maybe someone has been to one of these:confused3

My leading choice right now is
- A Land Remembered (A Legendary Orlando Steakhouse), they have Chateaubriand at $125 (haven't seen that on a menu in a long time)

My 2 runner's up are
- Everglades Restaurant at Rosen Centre Hotel
- BB Kings Restaurant & Blues Club

We really love Le Coq Au Vin. It's been there forever and has great food!

One thing that can be said about Commandos is we know our food:thumbsup2, Touring hard serves up a big appetite, we usually are way ahead for the day by the time dinner comes around, so what if you go off WDW property to get a Great dinner, who says we don't stop to smell the roses:confused3, true if you don't have a car with you or are on the DP it might not work out, but it's funny that on a few threads I've read that Shula's got put down, with not being on the DP, had too much food, or the best one I've seen was that the steak was too salty, I wonder if they were even there:confused3

I guess some might consider eating off property as Taboo, but then again a lot consider Commando's as Taboo also:lmao:

If people didn't have something to critic *cough* complain about, they'd have nothing to do. I used to think I had high standards about a lot of things. Not anymore. You have to just try something if it seems it will fit you or will enhance your vacation. Planning and not wasting valuable time, energy and money enhances my vacation greatly:thumbsup2Stick with Shula's, you like it and it has great food. Go to places your interested in, you will never know until you try for yourself.

I look forward to trying Shula's, so I don't much in those reviews. I thought the Prime Rib at Turf Club at SSR was great. DW said that she liked the NY Strip at Olivia's at OKW was really good. I think you might be able to find something cheaper off property, but we ate a Landry's, and the prices were comparable to WDW. now, the Waffle House was a lot cheaper. :lmao:

I've used Restaurant.com for lots of place in Orlando ( & other places too) BBKing's, The House of the Blue's in DTD, Sushi places, some 'old' steak place that have the best steak/porterhouse I've ever tasted in my life (and then got to watch the space shuttle blast off...way cool!) I'll have to look up the name. They use to a great seafood buffet at the Grovsener back before it was an HI.

:cool1:WAFFLE HOUSE:thumbsup2

I got 1 ADR made so far, it will only let me make up to 180 days out, did they stop the +10days for guests staying on site or do you need to have the DP to be able to book all ADR's during your stay:confused3

I did however get the time I was looking for a 5pm ADR at Ohana's for my son's Birthday:thumbsup2

That 10+ day thing should still be available for those staying on-site. It may be the new website. You could call or just do them day by day.

Yes it could very well be the new website, I like the old one better it was much faster::yes::Since we will be off property a couple times and doing a few QS, I only need to make a few more:thumbsup2

Well, some bad news. My car blew up yesterday, which put the final nail in the April BWV trip. Probably, the one thing I am missing most is being able to try Shula's. Don't get me wrong, I was looking forward to all things WDW, but trying new things always ranks high.

The good news is that was was able to bank those points forward to next year, so we'll go big with a 1 BR.

Awww man Goofy, sorry. I know what's it's like to cancel a Disney trip, not fun:sad2:. Sorry to hear about your car too, hope you get a new one soon and here's to a new ticker for sometime in 2014:woohoo:

Thanks. We still do have our DCL cruise this year, so that makes it easier to handle.

Sorry to hear that Norm, maybe a summer trip might come into play:confused3, if not I'll send you food porn pics from Shula's in August:thumbsup2

Sorry to hear that your car blew up Norm. Hope you gave it a good send off to the great and mighty car heaven in the sky, or do you plan to give it a new heart and lungs (engine and tranny) transplant???:rotfl2: My apologies for my weird sense of humor, been around too many vehicles over the years (DH hoards them). At least I collect small things. If it has wheels, a engine, and is old, he collects it, especially if it's a truck. Hence us keeping the 2 vehicles we totaled last month (one for a rebuild (the truck), one as a barely rolling parts vehicle).

I'm back! :sad1:
But the trip was awesome! :thumbsup2
Its really late here in Brazil and I have to return to work tomorrow morning, but soon I'll start posting on my TR and catching up on our club!

Sorry to hear about your car and cancelled trip Norm!
