We have never stayed at BWI before or even been to the Boardwalk for that matter....please tell me what shouldn't we miss? We have 2 tweens (boy & girl).:beach:Looking forward to some sun!!
:welcome:
Take a stroll around the BW. We enjoy walking to DHS and Epcot. It's fun to make a stop at the YC and just sit in the lobby or look around the shop. Explore BWI some inside and out. The BW entertainers appear nightly and are lots of fun. They perform between the marina and BWI. I hope you have lots of fun in the sun!

Staying at BWV for the first time in October and wondered the same thing...also...does anyone know if you can go to Beaches and Cream in BC and have just the kitchen sink...not make reservations and Table Service arrangements...think the kids 9 and 8, would love that :) Thanks!

Beaches & Cream isn't table service, you can't make a reservation for it, it's a walk-up. Absolutely you can go in just for ice cream, we do it all the time. Just be sure you're aware that there is usually a wait, especially right after Illuminations is over. There are plenty of tables & chairs outside that you can sit at to wait that overlook Storm Along Bay. They do have a take-out window for ice cream (not for the kitchen sink though!) if the wait is too long.

Welcome! In my experience, the wait without an ADR at B&C has always been too long for us and outdoor seating was full. But, you can order anything to-go and/or go without an ADR and wait and you can always pay out of pocket for anything you want at WDW.

I thought the same as you so I just checked the ADR site before posting above and it is a TS and you can make an ADR.

It's a glitch, it was confirmed here on the DIS, for whatever reason the website hasn't been updated. Hey - I better go check next month, right? Good excuse for a No Way Jose sundae, right?!?!?!?! :thumbsup2

Maybe I'll go try & make an ADR & see what happens when I get there. All for the better of the DIS.....:rotfl2:

Anyone that's been there recently - can you confirm if they really have made this into a true TS or is it s system glitch as reported on The DIS?

Yep, got this message when I tried to book:

We were unable to check for available tables at this time.
A problem occurred while looking for availability. Please try again later

I feel better now. I thought for a moment that all those times I tried to get in stand-by and the wait was way too long so we left, I could have made an ADR :upsidedow

Actually, B&C is a TS but it's one that doesn't take reservations.

Kook, when we were there in October, we saw people trying to order from the regualr B&C menu and being told there was a limited menu of items that is different than what's on the TS menu.

I saw this last week, but it errors out any time you try to search for a reservation. They probably used a template for the restaurant pages on the new Web site and since 99 percent of TS restaurants take ADRs, the template probably has the reservation widget.

They'll take it off eventually if they figure out it isn't applicable.

Well....I'm still going to go get that No Way Jose sundae next month just for purely informational purposes for The DIS.....the calories don't count then, right???? If it's for research? :rotfl:

Yes, that's what the silly ADR site says:

"A to-go menu of ice cream and beverages is also available, and you can even enjoy your goodies at an ice cream cone-shaped table outside, overlooking Stormalong Bay.

Reservations are recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit.":sad2::rotfl2:

Someday I'll pay the price when my kids are in therpay because mom went to Disney 3 times a year without them!

Hey I do have a real Disney question LOL....for those of you that have stayed in a 1BR at BWV...is there a good spot for a twin air mattress? Either in the BR or the LR area? We're 3 adults that really don't want to share a bed, so I thought of buying one to pack to take to try. I looked online at Wal-Mart & they have some that are only 6 lbs & compact...anyone have any experience with these? I only travel with a carry-on so it has to be compact & somewhat light. If it's a real pain to deflate & get back into a nice little square I will just toss it down there.

We always use an air mattress in the 1 bedroom. It fits fine on the floor on the living room, and we just set it up against the wall during the day. It's not the prettiest sight but we don't care.

Unfortunately, my car blew up yesterday so we decided to cancel our BWV trip in April. I will have to enjoy the Boardwalk from your posts for the next year. Fortunately, we do still have our DCL Dream cruise this year, so I will still get my Disney fix.
