EPIC isn't ONCE in a lifetime~ Final entry before GO time (4/17)!!! April 2013 PTR

Cute couple!!! I'll keep my eye out for the skinny Minnie with the LGMH! I have always said I would make one of those...maybe I will this trip!

Not so skinny -- I still have 45 pounds to lose before I get to the highest weight in the healthy weight range. My minimum to lose is 120 lbs, that gets me to the healthy weight range and where I was when I got married. I'm finally losing the baby weight -- my baby is 30 years old, lol. And she's lost over 75 lbs herself and may reach the top of her healthy weight range this week. I'm so proud of her for not waiting years to knock off the weight like I did.

I keep telling dh that she and I need to make a trip together, without spouses or kids, to WDW to celebrate. The man is dense, he isn't picking up on the hints, lol.

Well, you should be super proud of yourself!!! A 75 lb weight loss is amazing!!! :cheer2:

I need to lose about 40 to get into that healthy weight range...:crazy2:

I'll keep an eye out! 75# loss is AWESOME! I need to lose that much+ several more...I'm completely lost as to what an LGMH is...
I have AK on our schedule for the afternoon / evening of the 21st. So, if you see two older people, that might be us. (Sorry, I don't know how to make smaller!)

May I add that I weigh 75 lbs LESS now than I did when that pic was taken? :) And note my LGMH!

The rumor is that Festival of the Lion King may be closing, but not being cancelled. It will be relocated to the Africa area when the much-discussed Avatarland is built in the Camp Mickey area.

Lime Green Mickey Head. And I agree on the 75 lbs weight loss! Way to go pwdebbie!

Candace - FOTLK and Nemo are must dos for us. We love them both. I mised them last year because AK day was the day I didn't get out of bed :-(

Oh! Okay.I do know what they are...I forgot. They're the things DISers use to show they are DISers. I think I'm going to make one.

I think we'll definitely try one of them this time! Another thing we haven't done at AK is the "Conservation Station??" You take a train or something to a petting zoo area?? We are going to look into that, we are bound and determined to find more stuff to do at AK.

We usually go and do Everest, Dinosaur, Safari and Kali River Rapids...grab something to eat and go.

I like the Conservation Station. You take the train after you get off Kilimanjaro (we do that because the entrance to the train is near the KS exit). Nice little ride and then a nice walk to the Conservation Station. There are a lot of little things to see and do inside -- you might even watch the vets do things to the animals in the examination rooms. (I'm sure if it was something gross they would close a curtain or something.) Lots of display cases with critters. Interactive displays. Lovely wall mural in the entrance area inside and outside (be sure to look for Hidden Mickeys). And the bathrooms there are good too. Somehow, we've always missed the petting zoo part. :confused3

I'm worried there won't be enough hours in the park day for us to do everything we want to do at AK! I think my list has 21 things on it... With our crazy animal freaks we want to hit all the Animal stuff, so that's like 5 or 6 things. I was so happy when they extended the hours at AK.

I really want to experience AK at night or "at dusk".... So I might reconfigure our schedule to have a whole day at AK, or, another 1/2 day somewhere in the schedule. I feel like we don't use AK to its fullest, but none of us are huge animal people (though we LOVE our kitty, Lao Che) here he is:

Awww! He's a gorgeous tuxedo! My brothers cat is a tuxie. (He lives with us while my brother is at university.) We have 2 of our own. A sweet little long haired black named Raven, and a silver and black tabby named Lenore.

I am NOT an animal person, but the girls wanted a pet, and DH LOVES cats and grew up with them....and wouldn't you know, I am absolutely IN LOVE with this cat.

We have a bond. I am his human. :goodvibes

One sure way to distract me from obsessing over my current Disney trip...is to start planning a NEW Disney trip!!! :yay:

I wasn't thinking I would have that chance because next year, DH and I had decided to give Atlantis a try in Feb 2014, and subsequently skip Disney next year

I agreed because we will have had four lengthy trips in 3.5 years. DH loves Disney but also wants our girls to have other experiences, yada, yada, yada...

Planning an Atlantis vacation wasn't as fun as planning Disney....but guess what?????

Last night, DH said that he thinks we can do BOTH!!!!! Atlantis in Feb 2014 and then Disney in August 2014!!!!! :dance3::yay::dance3:

I'm so excited!! He's the best! He jokingly said that he wasn't sure how I would react not being in my happy place next year, and also KNEW I wouldn't be able to stay away once the Mine Train ride opens!!!

We've picked the dates 8/16/14 - 8/24/14. Subject to change based on available discounts...;) We are planning on staying at the Poly.

So now....I am going to fine tune the planning of this current trip, YC CL here we come!!!!

Well, this trip just keeps evolving...;)

Some background on the most recent change...

I have a best friend. She is NOT Disney obsessed. Her and her husband literally break out in hives at the thought of taking their 3 kids (ages 3,5, and 9) to Disney. They do not understand our Disney love and they certainly don't understand why we go year after year after year.

Their one experience was 2.5 years ago and it was a day trip to MK while visiting Florida...:rolleyes2

Fast forward to now. My BFF constantly makes fun of me because of my Disney ways...well, guess who decided that they are going to Disney in April too??? My BFF and family!!!!

When they booked they initially booked at POR b/c that was the cheapest option, but within a day, they changed their reservation to YC!!!!

It is my mission to make this family a Disney loving crew!!!

We have made some modifications to our reservations. I have cancelled Cape May Cafe (which I was the only one excited about) and picked up Biergarten for all nine of us (Biergarten is one of our favorites and I think the will love it!!)
I also want to get reservations for the Wishes Dessert Party, so they can experience Wishes in a less crowded atmosphere. :crowded:

Now I kind of feel like I want this awesome itinerary to blow their socks off, but they just said they will do what we do sooooo....this should be interesting!!!

Stay tuned....BFF and her kiddos will be here any minute to do some itinerary planning before we all head out to dinner and Disney on Ice tonight!!!

just caught up on your trippie, it's great to read your progress as you have the same dates as us. Cricky do you like to change your plans! :rotfl:

How fun to get to plan with someone else!

One good thing about it is, we are locked at the YC now...it would be very difficult to move 9 people!!! :faint:

Changing is part of the fun! ::yes::

Glad to have you reading along!! Where are you guys staying?? :goodvibes

I love Disney on Ice! It's not like actually being there but it's always in our area around February and always holds me over until our next trip! Here is a picture from the show we attended tonight!

Awww...I love Disney on Ice. So much fun.
I'm not sure how I'd feel about planning a trip with a non-Disney loving friend. However, I don't think you can go wrong staying at the Yacht Club for your first trip. If the fact that you can walk to two Disney parks doesn't get them, I'm sure Storm-a-long Bay will!

Hi..just catching up on your trip report! Whew...I thought I changed my mind a bunch:) Your plans look fun and your family is super cute!!! I was thinking about going to Biergarten because DH loves Oktoberfest but we settled on Via Napoli for our Epcot day.

Are you trying to get the dessert party on any particular day? We are hoping for the 26th, it's our anniversary! Waiting for it to open is nerve wracking! I'm so worried that we won't get it...
