Oh boy we requested a room close to the lobby. Staying YC/CL question did you feel that the noise was really loud near the lounge and concierge desk? My concern is if we request a room away from the lobby it would be a far walk from the elevators.

We have not stayed near the lounge, but there can be a lot of people in that area, or walking by. I do know someone who stayed in the room right next to the lounge and asked to be moved after one night. We've been almost at the far end of the hall in a LV room the last two times, and even though it is a walk to the lounge and elevators, it wasn't that bad - maybe a minute or so at the most. Even being that far away, we still had occasional noise from people walking by, or kids running in the hall.

Personally, I would not want to be near the lounge, but that's just my opinion. I'm sure there are people who like being near the lounge and elevators, for the convenience.

ETA: Forgot to mention that the ice machine and the beverage/food prep service area is across from the first few rooms right by the lounge.

I'm so happy. Tomorrow it 's my 180 days prior !!

I can make my dining reservations !

It's my first visit and it's a long long trip for me and my family. :)

This is my choice : What do you think about my selection ?

- crystal palace lunch
- via napoli dinner
- chefs de france dinner
- whispering canyon cafe dinner
- ohana dinner
- pack fantasmic mama melrose
- akershus breakfast
- chef mickey dinner
- Grand Floridian café dinner
- Be our guest
- Teppan Edo lunch

Thank you for your advice !

Who is your "target audience", lol? I counted (1) breakfast, (3) lunches, (7) dinners. Is that what you were planning? Are you dining plan or oop? Character meals? I take a piece of paper a write it out as a calendar for a visual to see where you would be when, and in relation to what park, to see what meal should be where. Nothing's worse then having to trek from one world to the next in a short period of time. I think misjudging travel time is one of the worst mistakes we made as first-timers.

This has probably been answered countless times but just smack me and move on if it's too annoying. My 180 day mark will be in 2 days for the YC part of our trip but for the BWI CL part the IPO is asking me for what ADRs I need. Can they do ADRs for me that are before I get there, in other words for the YC part of our trip?
Oh, and it was the niceness of the people on this thread that convinced me to change my reservation from the Dolphin to YC. I figured if people this nice are posting then people that nice are staying at the BC/YC right? :goodvibes

It's also possible that it was the only category in CL for 5 that had available rooms at the time you were looking. :confused3

It didn't have to do with availability. YC CL offers GV or LV for 4+ only. Since we are 5, we cannot book those categories. It's all good, we will be perfectly happy (albeit in close quarters lol) in SV, bc we will be in our happy place!! I was just curious as to why this was...but it was answered (rooms may be slightly smaller).

Add us to the list -- we'll be at the YC for 3 nights 8/27 - 8/30 -- while also having a simultaneous FD reservation at POR from 8/18 - 8/31! My girls have been dying to stay at the BC/YC since our first meal at Beaches & Cream almost a decade ago. So glad that we'll finally get the chance to do so before our oldest is off to college in 2014!

Slight change of plans for us: We'll be at POR 8/18 - 8/27 and then YC 8/27 - 8/30.

Thank you to all who keep this thread updated and full of laughs!!! :rotfl: It really does help to pass the time.

If you are going CL to CL then the IPO can make ADRs for both legs of your trip. (In fact, BW and YC/BC use the same IPO office, last I checked :)

HTH

Oh Yea Baby!!:cool1:
I Did It!!
BC, Lagoon view, October 26-Nov 2
My kids are going to be so excited!:cheer2:
We will be there for Mnsshp and food and wine!!

And I requested a large balcony. I just read the advice about requesting a room near the lobby to also be closer to SAB and the bus stop.

Can I do both requests? I am not familiar with the layout of this resort at all. And thats a little anxiety provoking for me LOL!
Where is the walkway to Epcot located in proximity to the lobby/SAB area?
Thanks everybody!!

Beach Club doesn't have cabanas do they?:)

I guess you weren't paying attention before when Dee got off this line.... :)

Yes, we have no cabanas.

Sorry, had to do it.

Unfortunately, I have never heard of any cabana rentals at Stormalong Bay or any of the other pools at Yacht & Beach.

On a more helpful note- who knows which resorts DO have cabana rentals? The only one I know of is Poly. Do any of the EPCOT resorts offer them? Boardwalk? Swan? Dolphin?
;)

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards App, please excuse any typos or autocorrects!

Obviously, I was not !!!!!!!!! God forbid I ask a question that has already been answered in the hundreds of pages on the Beach Club FAQ!!! Forgive me for not reading every single post, I didn't know it was required DannysMom.
I would NEVER act rude to anyone---you need to think about why you made your rude comment.....

Exactly Dawn! I thought this forum was here to be helpful, NOT to be rude and obnoxious! :(
Gee Dawn, see what you get for asking a question! :thumbsup2

I don't think dannysmom was intending to be rude in her reply. I think she was honestly intending it to come across as funny, given the smilies she used. What sounds innocent to yourself when you post something, could be totally misconstrued by the reader :( Believe me, I have lots of practice in this and that is why I hesitate to respond to things out of fear that it might be taken the wrong way by whomever is reading what I type :worried:

The cabana topic came up just a few days ago, and the response by natebenma to the question posed was funny. I would say 99% of the people on this thread are friendly, fun loving people. Could the response to your question have been worded differently? Most definitely, but like I said above, how it's being said in the writer's mind, doesn't always sound the same in the reader's mind :hippie: Peace Love Mickey

Agree.

Danny's mom was kidding

She is also a valued contributor to this thread. I'm sorry if she came off as being anything other than helpful. Right now we have a lot of new people joining the thread and they may not be aware of how helpful and fun everyone tries to be. I'm sorry if you took her reply the wrong way. We are definitely different than some of the other places that you might find on the Dis.

All of the regulars here on this thread are committed to helping everyone, whether they be new or old, experienced or fresh off the ferry boat. Please try to keep a light heart when responding to posts here. We deal in information and humor, friendliness and fun. There is no need to feel uncomfortable as we are happy to answer all questions. Danny's Mom was merely pointing out a funny joke that our list maven made when she answered the question a few pages ago. That's all.

Peace.

Ok calm down.. typically the over abundance of smiley faces is meant to allay any misreading towards rudeness. And, the answer was provided.

I strongly agree with the previous posters, no mal-intent ... intended.

Let's move on.
