I was trying to find in other threads about this topic and the most recent I could find was from 2011. Can I get 'Ohana bread pudding anywhere else, but 'Ohana? I am super in love with this stuff and we go to 'Ohana every trip, but this summer we're moving to Florida. I want bread pudding more often, but can't afford to go to 'Ohana all the time just to get the bread pudding I crave! :rotfl:

Not sure if this is true but I read that you can ask for it at Kona. Maybe someone else could confirm this to be true or not.

I love BP go to Ragland Road and order theres, it is out of this world good!!
House of Blues has one too (havent tried yet though)

Thanks!

I did have Raglan Road's bread pudding once and it wasn't spectacular, but I think it was because we were not having a good day and just wanted to leave the restaurant. I need to go back and try it again.

I have also heard you can get it at Kona Cafe but I cant confirm. We really like the read uddig at Boatwrights. We though it was just as good as Ohana. I didn't care for the bread puddin at Raglan Road, I thought it was odd. It just tasted like bread and toast to me.

I've definitely read about a lot of people asking for it when eating at Kona- but not sure how consistently they always say yes.

Is this bread pudding that good? We have our first ADR for ohana for dinner this March. Never been there and am worried how good it will be. Not the first thread I've read about there bread pudding. Guess I'll be ordering it to see what everyone's talking about.

'Ohana is my very favorite! We go there for more than just the bread pudding! YUM!!!!!

Not sure how it compares to the original but it might be worth a try. :)

I've made this at home a few times. DH says it's pretty similar. I'm not a fan of bread pudding, but it was DH favorite dish at WDW, so I made it for him. Try using King Hawaiian bread for the Ohana bread, for a more similar taste.

No need to worry with ordering, it's the standard dessert that they serve adults. 'Ohana is a set all you care to eat menu of items that the servers deliver to your table. There are a few options for people with allergies but the bread pudding with ice cream is pretty much it for dessert.

In September, I asked the waiter at Kona if it would be possible to get the 'Ohana bread pudding for my dessert. He said sure!! The only reason I asked is because I read on Disboards that quite a few people did this and were able to get it at Kona.

Yes, it's THAT good!! Yummy! The meal is served family style, so the bread pudding is the standard dessert. Everyone gets the same things, except you have a choice to eat certain meats, or some of all of them.

Of course the real problem is being able to pace yourself so that you can handle dessert.

YAY! Thank you for your reply! You have given me hope. :rotfl: I'm definitely going to have to try this. I sure hope I'm lucky!

The original recipe is in one of the Disney cookbooks (I bought it just for the Ohana Bread Pudding.) The original has 1/4 cup of coconut, a small can of crushed pineapple and 1/2 c raisins. It also says to use Challa bread, which is a good egg bread. Other than that, it's about the same. Anyway, I made it again last Friday and it's just so good. Not as good in my dining room as it is at the Polynesian, but good none the less. It's easy to make. Just make sure that when you flambe the Foster sauce you don't burn off your eyebrows!

In December 2011, my husband was able to order the bread pudding after our Kona meal. Wasn't a big deal at all!

It's amazing!

We always get the bread pudding from 'Ohana at Kona's. It's $5 and comes in the same big bowl with the pitcher of caramel sauce as it usually does. We just got it on our November 2012 trip too and that is probably our 10th time doing this over the years. I love that stuff! :)
