I love the Wilderness Lodge CL. We stayed there for the first time last year and it became our new favorite. The entire staff is really warm and welcoming. We stayed at the BWI CL 3 times prior and although it was great, I felt like I was treated much better at WL. This year we're doing a split stay between WL and YC CL in June. This will be our first stay at the YC and we're really looking forward to it. I like the fact that we'll be close to Epcot and HS and we can't wait to check out SAB.

Sounds wonderful! I'm afraid I won't want to leave WL...left the parking pass on the windshield for a week after getting home. That being said, SAB looks awesome and walking to EP even better.

Have fun!

Angeejoe - The BCV resale contracts seem to sell for high $70s per point. The one we looked at was a 75 point contract for $78 per point. The small contracts sell quickly and for a slightly higher price per point. I have literally spent months lurking in the DVC forums so I could learn as much as possible!
Good luck!

Amanda

Amanda,

Thanks for quick reply! I really appreciate it! What are benefits of small point contracts? It seems like if you go yearly you want more points. I will start lurking more on the DVC board! You're so helpful!

:woohoo: thanks again,
Angeejoe

Thanks ALMinVA for the review and fabulous photos, that was a great view. Glad your trip went well after the bumpy start. It was fun getting a few live reports too!

I am so excited, just booked my airfare this morning, I'd never booked a trip so early I couldn't book the air. SW finally released air for late August this morning and I got the perfect direct flights I wanted and my SW RR points covered them making this trip much more affordable than the last two, free air!!! :thumbsup2

Oh thanks for the info-I just booked fro the end of Aug too and got great prices for labor day weekend.I had enough points to cover all 4 of us:goodvibes We cancelled last years trip because we sold our house in like an hour and wound up moving instead of going away!So hopefully we will be going to Beach club for the first time from 8/21-8/31.As long as the house renovation gets finished soon and it stops going over budget so much!:cool1:

We own at Animal Kingdom Villas, but always try to stay at least a few days at BCV, our favorite. In fact, we haven't stayed at our home resort yet. Our first trip will be there this summer, followed by a few days at BCV. If you are really interested, there is a whole section about purchasing on the DVC forums, which will provide you with some great information. :)

Thanks 333disneymom! I wondered myself if people bought into a home base, but didn't use it as much. You're answer was very helpful! I think I'm going to start lurking on DVC forum!

:goodvibes thanks,
Angeejoe

Natebenma,

Thanks for the welcome! :cool1: we have no date yet for next trip. We were hoping to plan some thing for sept for a big fam trip, but DSIL just announced she's pregnant & due in Oct which puts a wrench in our plans ! I'm happy for new baby of course, but really missing BC/YC! Last 2 years we went in feb/ march, so I feel like we should be getting ready to leave :guilty::sad2::sad1:!

Nervous about balcony request - I put in for a patio/full balcony so first or second floor at BC. But it looks like about a 50/50 chance since the upper floors have the standing balconies (and why would they even do this in first place). Hoping I can get it - we are going Feb 20-27. Or that they can switch us to YC which has all full balconies if we have to. Anyone experience success/failure at this before?

Good luck finding the perfect BCV contract! We bought ours last summer. Can't wait for our March trip!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards App, please excuse any typos or autocorrects!

Thank you! I'm super excited but not in a hurry.

DVC members get a discount on the tie dying t-shirts :thumbsup2
I think I paid $18 and they were saying DVC members pay $15.
I also heard, and could be rumor, that they were starting fast pass plus in march for mk and over the summer for epcot.
Hope you have a great trip!

Yay for member discounts. Another reason to buy... :thumbsup2

Now that's exciting!! :)

ALMinVA Excellent review and great photos :thumbsup2

Thank you!

For us the benefit is purely financial. I want to be able to pay cash for a contract and that will only be possible with a smaller contract. I want to buy in sooner rather than later but won't finance DVC.
For others the benefit of a small contract is that it's easier to sell if you decide that DVC isn't for you.

You have the best chance of full balcony if that is your only request! Good luck to you.

Thanks for the review! Excited for my stay in a few months. We booked SV for YC CL because we are a family of 5 and that was the only category that allows for 5 in CL. I wonder why there are daybeds in the GV and LV CL rooms but don't have 5+ available to stay. Hmmmm

Just reposting to see if anyone had insight into my curious question? Lol in the SV rooms for 5+ a person is still in a daybed, so when I see reports of having a daybed in GV or LV rooms I don't understand why that isn't the option for families of 5. Is it because they are smaller than daybeds in designated 5+ rooms? Or are they just picky? Any ideas or know-how on this?

Beach Club Resort CL, I requested Epcot fireworks room view, What do y'all think?:flower3:

I hope you get to make your first visit to BC in Aug. We have been there twice and it is our favorite so far! :cool1:

If you ship a box to the resort is it fairly simple to retrieve it or can it be a pain? Thanks!!

Very simple. You just let them know at Bell Services and then you just chase them around the lobby with a pitch fork if they don't bring it up in 30 minutes or less, like a pizza. ;)

All kidding aside it really is easy. Just be sure to follow the instructions on page 1 of THIS thread for shipping packages to the BC/YC. Only the United States Postal Service will deliver directly to the resort. The other carriers (UPS, Fed EX, Pitch fork express) get routed to the convention center and that is a chore to hump over there and pick the package up yourself (and pay a ransom fee!).

When I stayed at the BC in December DH called down to let them know we had a package mailed and could they please bring it up with the bags when our room was ready. Sure enough it arrived with the bags.

Simple
:thumbsup2

Hi I think it's because there are so few of those rooms they dont list it as a bookable category. We have asked on check-in if the view from the room is nice and they have always done their best to help:thumbsup2

Hi all! Long time lurker here :-). My family and I are staying BC LV March 1-9. So excited! Can't wait for the kids to experience SAB, and to try a sunken treasure for myself, lol!

Also, I have a question. This past August, dh and I took a kidless trip and stayed at the YC. I've been trying to figure out what kind of room we had, to no avail! Sadly I didn't take a pic. It had a king bed, with a couch, chair, coffee table, and desk, and a wet bar. The sinks were in the bathroom as opposed to the typical layout where they're outside the toilet/shower area. Any guesses? We did try to upgrade to CL at check-in, but were reserved for GV.

Thanks, and I'm excited to be a part of this group!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

I'm intrigued!!! We have had a devil of a time tryng to get info about "special" rooms at the YC.

Do you happen to have a room number?

Did your room have access to the CL lounge?

We were on the second floor, and could see a little bit of the quiet pool. I can't remember the room number! No CL lounge access though. It was an awesome room, especially for the two of us! The bathroom would've been difficult with the kids, but we wouldn't have had a king bed then anyway ;-).

We are booked the lat week of May 5/24-6/1 so DD13 will be out of school. There are a few 4s on the crowd calendar but also some 6s, 8s, 10. Yikes! So I was worried about crowds and also not being able to get a decent price on airfare. Thinking of switching to 10-18 or 11-19. However only lagoon view is available. Not paying extra $700! So we can either switch to YC or do the 11th in a lagoon view, check out and then do the 12-19 in a garden view. Would that be pretty seamless to switch rooms? I don't want it eating into our vacation time. Would it be better to stay at YC the whole time? For some reason YC isn't as exciting for me.
