Requesting a site near others

We will be at Ft. Wilderness in October. Two other families are going at the same time. They requested loop 800 & said the had their reservations linked to be assure that they will be in sites next to each other. I did request to be near them in the initial online reservation, but didn't request a lopped. Do I need to make a call to see that we are next to them? Can you really assure that you can be side by side? I know in all other resorts it's just a request, not a sure thing. We've stayed at CR, but this is our first time pulling a camper to WDW.

If you are part of a grand gathering, the loop request is part of the gathering request. But you can always call to ensure your reservation is part of the grand gathering (if your friend has the GG number it would help.)

Just be sure that all 3 reservations are linked. No guarantees for the loop....it is just a request.......

Bunny is correct. Just get all those ressies linked (get the other 2 ressie numbers on the third one).

Yes. Just make sure that you have the reservation numbers for the other 2 groups that you want to be linked with.

I would link the reservations and create a grand gathering but be prepared for not being next to each other (or even close sometimes). I've done this twice and were not placed beside others in my party either time.

The funny thing about this was the second time we did it we couldn't get a site during check in anywhere near our traveling companions but did get the same loop (20 sites away). They put us in a site beside the comfort station path so after driving in and seeing the spot I called and asked to be moved and they put us right beside the people I was traveling with!!!

We have actually drove around at check in and wrote a little list of preferred spots, then we give them to the cm and they are great about giving you what you want!! ( of course if it's not already specifically reserved)

I called today. It was painless, & now our reservations are linked. I don't have to be next site to them, just nice to be in the same loop. I'll try to report back how this works out.
