AoA LM room or POR royal room for 4 people?

I have a LM room booked for myself and 2 DD's. Now my 17 yr old niece might come with us and I am considering a switch to POR royal room. Having queen size beds would be good, but not completely necessary. I also am wondering about a comparison of the resort sizes and the amount of walking there would be from those particular sections of each resort. Would there be much of a difference?

I would suggest going to both the AoA and POR thread and seeing what appeals to you all.

Each has a very distinctive feel; also when comparing a value to a moderate, you want to see if you wish to have the extra amentities that a moderate has over a value.

I am sure they would be very pleased at that age with a RR at POR. And they would like the overall theme and lay out of the resort, plus the water taxi to DTD is also a nice extra feature.

I would think that AoA would appeal more to younger children.

I am having the exact same debate. However my girls are 4 and 5.... We are adding on a night so it is only one night. What I was told when I asked a similar question is that the royal rooms at por are very far from everything so to consider that part of it. Not sure if that helps

My DD's are 13 and 3. I chose AoA mainly for the younger one, but the older one is excited about it as well. My niece has never been to WDW so she will be super excited no matter where we stay.

I would choose POR simply for the beds and the space. Plus the rooms are absolutely adorable and the headboards are a delight! I have stayed at both resorts (in a royal room and in a Nemo suite) and the royal rooms are right over the bridge from the lobby/main building. LM rooms at AoA are the furthest away from the main building.

Honestly, this is a no brainer to me. You will be so much more comfortable at POR and the rooms are absolutely adorable!

I would think the royal rooms at POR would be a closer walk to the main building than the LM rooms at AoA. The royal rooms are a long walk to the main pool, but there is a quiet pool adjacent to the building.

How old are your DDs? If you request an AB room or book a preferred room at POR, you would get a room with a murphy bed so then you (or one of the girls) wouldn't get stuck sleeping with someone. The murphy bed, however, is meant for kids 11 or 10 and under and requests for AB aren't guaranteed, unless you were to book a preferred room.

Actually, only the standard rooms at Parterre Place are far from the main amentities.

The river view/garden view rooms at Parterre Place are nicely located, as well as pretty much everything at Oak Manor.
