The discounts for my resort and my room type were already gone when I called this morning and they told me my only chance for a discount is if someone cancelled.

When was this announced? The cast member I spoke with said it was released over a week ago and the discounts got snatched up. I've been checking every few days (I thought - this week has been crazy so maybe I missed something). Plus, I know I am new to the whole AP thing, but I didn't know there were only a certain amount, I thought as long as you were an AP holder you were in the special club. Bummer.

No Spring rates available for my room type either anymore. I am just SOL I guess. Has anyone had any luck calling back and finding cancellations?

I just happened to be on the passholder site this morning and saw it. I got no notification from Disney about this release and I haven't seen anyone mention it here on the DIS. I think Mousesavers just posted it recently too because when I went over there to check it was the top post. I don't see how it could have already been out for a week.:confused::confused:

I also saw it here yesterday morning. I did not get a notification or anything either. On top of that, I called right away & apparently their computers were all down for several hours & they were unable to make any reservations. Very frustrating :badpc:

I did go to the website & was finally able to book what I wanted there. You may try that. :flower3:

Good luck!

I am already booked, I was trying to apply the discount to the existing reservation. The cast member tried booking a new reservation to see if we could get it that way and said there were simply no rooms with discounts at our resort left other than Club Level or suites.

I've tried getting to the AP section of the WDW reservation site and it keeps coming up blank for me and not working. Is there a way to use the regular site and get the AP discounts?

I did. I don't know how to go to the AP site. Or maybe that is where I was? :confused3

I went to the regular site. Places to stay. On the right I think it says Passholders offers, that is where I went from there.

It was just released yesterday. I booked yesterday but then rented points & got a much better deal in the end, so I cancelled the cash ressie.

It seems the AP discounts this time around are for only certain levels or types of rooms. At POR for example there are no AP discounts on standard rooms but only Garden View or higher. I think it is the same at other resorts. We saved only $16 dollars or so by using the AP discount over the spring one.

Not sure if they are still available, but CBR did have standard view available with the discount. It was an additional 10% more than the GP discount for me.

Yeah, at the Poly, Grand Floridian and Contemporary, club level rooms are excluded. :headache: It's sad but it seems they are severely cutting back on the AP discounts lately. :guilty:

Haven't ever had an AP before so the AP discounts are new to me. Is there any chance that the discounts will be lower? Just wondering if there is any reason that I need to keep checking back for a lower price. I am already booked with the current AP discount.

The Contemporary is where I was trying to get the AP discount and there were NO normal rooms available the morning after the discount came out. The cast member said that there were Club level and suites available though, odd.

We just cannot afford Club level or a suite, and we looked into booking at Grand Floridian instead, but with the discount it brought it down to within a few dollars of the Contemporary room WITHOUT the discount, and all the hassle of having to change all the forms (because this is our honeymoon and we're getting married at the wedding pavilion while there) over for a different hotel didn't seem worth it for $3 in savings.

No, this is the best you're going to get so you can sit back and enjoy the countdown now.

Well, it took me a half hour on hold but I did apply the AP rate to my April reservation for a savings of $30.02 on a 4 night stay at Pop standard view, so that's 25% off at the values and 5% better than the GP offer... About what I expected since it was the same 5% better than general public for our March trip.
