Nemesis Challenge 2

That's what he's suggesting...you running that one?

It depends what my doc says when I see him at the end of Feb. If you guys are running and I can't, I'll go and cheer you! They moved it to Hartford incase you didn't realize that.

I did! According to my training schedule, I'll still be doing walk/run though. Think that should deter me?

They are at 6500+ people as of yesterday, expecting 10,000. I have no idea how they are going to organize that but the Hartford Marathon foundation has taken over the logistics so hopefully they have a good plan. With that many people, there are going to be quite a few walkers. You'll be fine doing a walk run.

They have a FB page that updates. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll send you a link.

Ran 1.5 miles today in 20:17. Ratio of 1 minute run to 1.5-2 minute walk. After 2 weeks at 1 mile, 1.5 was tough, but I did it!

Way to go Chris!

DD got a PT program to help with her alignment. Bones growing too fast and muscles can't keep up. She's up to 5'2" and still going. There was an exercise she has to do. Thought I would give it a shot (since working back from the knee injury). Supposed to strengthen and lengthen your hamstring. She did all three sets. I did the first 4 reps of the first set. My hamstring felt like CJ's DD stuck a shiv in it.:rotfl2::rotfl2: Been sore for 3 days. Getting back to training as soon as the pain stops. Thought you would all enjoy my suffering.

"enjoy" would be the wrong word! I was up A LOT last night with aches (as was DW). I'm going to blame it on the huge storms that came through.

Throwing this out there to any N.E./CT DADS.....

On Saturday March 23, 2013 there is a 5K run in Hartford, CT at 10am. This run is to benefit the families directly affected by the tragedy in Sandy Hook. It is being called Sandy Hook: Run for the families.

http://www.hartfordmarathon.com/Events/Sandy_Hook_Run_for_the_Families.htm

If there is anyone interested please let me know. We could create our own team and run as a group, or run individual. After the run we could go grab some lunch and have a beer. Unfortunately, I can't hang out all night, I have to work but I should be available till 3 or 4.

There are 6500+ people signed up and they are expecting over 10,000 runners. According to their website there are going to be 3 separate self-seeding corrals. Not sure what the times will be but I could imagine sub 8min, sub 10min, everyone else. Believe me, it is going to be a cluster at the beginning but it will be a good experience for all you running dads to get a race under your belt. :goodvibes

How can I say no? will be my first 5k race. If we can enter as team maybe Aaron will be able to have race shirt ready for the Di.sDads running team :confused3
Between you and Chris I hope you can pan the day out for us out of towners.

I am doing 2 minute run and 2 minute walk for a mile still. I'm getting it done in under 15 minutes and it is getting easier. I tried pushing for 2.5 minute run and 1.5 walk but couldn't keep the pace more than two sets. My legs are feeling better. I'm thinking of adding another running day to the schedule.

Ran 1.5 miles today in the cold wind. Ratio of 1 minute run to 1.5-2 minute walk but mostly 1.5 walks. Again, tired and sore, but almost done with week 3!

Ran 1.5 miles today in 19:45! Ratio of 1-1.5 minute run to 1.5-2 minute walk. Again, hard run but not as sore. *And done with week 3!
