A Magical 4 night Cruise- 4/12/2013

Is every first timer waiting for 12am?!?
I need to go to sleep but I'm afraid I'm going to end up with no options :(:scared:

AHH!!!!!!!
Just booked alone time private villla at spa for Saturday, early dinner at Palo on Sunday and late brunch at Palo on Monday! I can hardly wait :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::goodvibes

75 more days till our cruise!
Speaking of parents and in-laws, this is a very rare trip for us that our parents are not with us. We almost always invite them on our trips.
I am in my 40's and this is like the 3rd trip we have taken with just the 4 of us. We are so lucky that my parents are like our closest friends, we absolutely love their company. It does not hurt that they love Disney too. They are extremely independent. We may be on the same cruise but normally see them only at dinner.
For the last 2 summers we have had our family reunion on a Disney cruise. We have had over 30 on each cruise from my family and my MiL too. Cruises are so easy for multi-generation get togethers.

I'm just a happy camper :)

I'm going to eat and relax without my kids lol
I love them with all my heart but I can't wait to eat and have an adult conversation :)

Ha! We actually started it on 2006 when the same 30+ went on Royal Caribbean to Alaska. We had so much fun but it took a few more years to get everyone else back on the ship together and Disney was an easy choice although we loved RCCL too.

Hi everyone!

Has anyone ever used (or are planning to use) that character call feature prior to the cruise? I was thinking about having Goofy call my DD the day before we leave.

I was thinking about it just for fun. Our girls know about the cruise so no surprise.

My Fe gifts are packed and I am finishing last load of laundry for our Disney Cruise tomorrow with the granddaughters. We will leave the house a little early as I am unsure of the Galveston traffic with tomorrow being their first day of Mardi Gras. It's only appox 45 minutes from our house so we will be fine. Just excited for the girls to see the Magic. Sherry:banana:

Have fun and bring back Navigators!

Have a great time!! So jealOus. ;)

Sailing with DH, DD 12 & DS 4. We've cruised several times on other lines, but this will be our first DCL.

I am interested in the idea of participating in the fish extenders. What determines the number of pockets? Is it the number of members in your family? Must the items traded be Disney related?

As newbies are we invited to attend Disboard activities? Please forgive my confusion as this is all new to me.

I am especially interested to make connections in the hopes that my kids will make some good friends onboard!

Thanks in advance for answering my many questions.

I see lots of little ones coming, looking for some older kids who might be coming as well. We are bringing 3 12yos and 2 14yos, and they would love some company!

Also, how do we get involved in the FE?

Welcome susieyarb :wave2:

Yes, the number of pockets in some way relates to the number of people in your stateroom that are participating in the fish extender exchange. Some people have more than one person per pocket (i.e. mom & dad on one pocket) and some have a pocket for each person.

The items traded don't necessarily have to be Disney related, but often are. On our last cruise we had a family from Canada and they gave us items from Canada (a pencil, postcard, etc.). We also received a set of small bottles to use to bring home sand and/or ocean water. There were a few more non-Disney related items in addition to the Disney related gifts we received.

If there are DISboard activities planned that are posted on this thread, I would think that you would be welcomed to come since you are now a DIS member. :thumbsup2

Hope that helps!
