Hi Peeps!! :wave2:

Been a long week for me... like Pas, I had a migraine Tuesday that was really bad... nausaous, vomitiing, yuck... it left me so drained both Wed and Thurs ... today I'm back to my old self. :) Sorry I missed all the gabbing!!

First, A belated Happy Birthday to our Sweet Marie!!! :cool1: :banana:

Thank you to everyone commenting on the pix I posted of Melissa and mysefl!! She is as wonderful in person as she appears on the boards. :goodvibes I so enjoy DISmeets and look forward to when I can "meet" all of you in person!! :cool1:

Pas, my dear friend, hope you feel better soon  Getting hit twice in the week with germies is no fair... :( ... and spring AP rates??? :)

Jen, I may have missed it, but hope your DD is feeling better  Enjoyed the feline pix!

Miss, Dealing with our aging parents is difficult, and seeing them deteriorate is just so emotionally draining. big  to you!! No issue is ever too small or trivial to share with your RC family.

MM, happy that your friends are coming along and sailing with you at the YC!! :goodvibes

DetTigsGal, any news on the wind ensemble audition for DS?

DznyCrzy, sorry about the DVC, and hope you get the $200 refunded..:)

Sheila, did you make your POLY vaca plans yet??? :goodvibes

Lacey, love your plans for spring break!! I'm partial to the cars suite. :)

Vegas is my favorite "adult" vacation. I've even gone out there by myself. No one wanted to go and I had a 4 night comp at the Palazzo so I booked airfare and went. It was a BLAST!

Dani, you know where to find me the next time Vegas rolls around ...:teeth:

I am back and almost functioning after my vacation .... even managed to get my hair cut and colored yesterday. :thumbsup2

We do have some news here .... a little background first. July of 2011 we lost our 15 year old Golden Retriever and then in November 2012 my 16 year old Malamute passed away too. We had known for awhile that DH might qualify for a service dog but as long as we had my old slow princess we couldn't bring a puppy into the house. Anyway while I was on vacation DH got the final approval for the service dog. I managed to find an available puppy associated with the training program the VA found for him and ...... he drove 3 1/2 hours and got the puppy. I was greeted at the airport with lots of love and puppy kisses!!! He is the cutest little Labradoodle! If I knew how to post pictures I would but we all know how much trouble I had posting the orange bird kook sent me .... remember all the detailed instructions .... I'm sure none of you want to read thru all of that again!!! :rotfl2:

Awesome Linda!! :woohoo: and love the name you picked for him!! :goodvibes Can't wait to see pix!

I've been looking at pictures of the AoA suites. My DH even likes the idea of them. Does anyone know if the suites are usually included in the free dining offers?

Wookie, they were included last year :) Seriously Wookie, you need some new relatvies.. Good thing you got your RC family..

Hi to all I've missed for now!! Will catch up later tonight!!

:goodvibes

Janet Funny you should ask....Bob said to me this am that he saw a commercial for Disney so I took that opportunity to talk up the Poly. I showed him pics of the view from the Fiji Longhouse both The Luau Cove side and the Marina side, we discussed 3rd floor vs 1st floor patio, doing the Spirit of Aloha Show and watching the Fireworks from the beach. We also talked about maybe going early November instead of Oct. The Poly is a GO!

:yay: Sheila!! That's great news! Early Nov is nice ;) fall decorations are up and you have food & wine. BOOK TOMORROW!! Or tonight!! :)

Good luck on the taxes!!! And as far as I've seen, the AOA suites have been included in the discounts. :goodvibes

Hi Peeps!! :wave2:

Wookie, they were included last year :)

That is the best news I have had all week. I swear I could buy your both a huge slice of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory!! I didn't want to get the DH's hopes up, but I showed him the suites anyway. He agreed that the LM was a little on the girly side. We both like the Nemo rooms since they are the closest to the laundry (or at least where I assume the laundry is based on Google Earth and compairing AoA to the PC) and the pool. He loved the size of the bathroom in the bedroom and thought the boys would love the shower curtain with the sharks on it we kept coming across in pictures. Plus he loves the boys being in a separate room than us. There is the added bonus of the boys being able to sleep in their own bed. They are getting to that age where they might rather do that if it's an option.

Seriously Wookie, you need some new relatvies.. Good thing you got your RC family..

oh, you have no idea. When Joey was about 2 months old, my dad's mom passed away. Since Joey had been a preemie and her funeral was in January, myself, the DH and Joey didn't go to the graveside. Everyone else in my family (mom, brother, and sister) got back, but I couldn't find my dad at the family lunch at the church. I finally got to my mom and she said when they got to the graveside my dad saw the newly installed headstone for one of his aunts. She had passed and they didn't tell him about it because they didn't think he needed to know. I could go on and on about them, but that's way in the past.

I'm sorry, I am just getting so depressed about this I had to come and tell. DD6 has been having a very sore tummy all day today. Doctor just happens to call at 8:50 pm, (so nice of her, not our regular dr.) and says DD8 throat swab was positive again, and DD6 has tested positive for a heavy growth of strep too. Myself and DD4 were clear as of Tuesday' swab, although DD4 has gone to bed with a fever again and horrible cough now.

So meds were called in for DD6, and I have to give them every 8 hours for 10 days!! So the poor mite just got up to pee and I surprised her with her first dose. She was not happy to say the least. :headache: I did catch DD6 and DD4 sharing drinks again today too.:headache::headache:

This is getting to me...and I cannot imagine how parents of truly ill children would be able to do it. It must just be soooo hard. Thanks for listening again.

I just keep looking forward to May, and the hope that please please please we will be better by then!!!:upsidedow

Hi Janet, Ginny, Wookie and everyone else!:flower3:

Hi Janet, Ginny, Wookie and everyone else!:flower3:

I know I have been MIA today but wanted to give you HUGE HUGS Jen!!! I am so sorry the girls are so sick :( the meds will end up working into a routine that works, somehow. We are down to 4 meds a day with DS but occasionally have to add in others and timing is critical. Just remember it is for 10 days and hopefully the last round for a while.

HUGS, HUGS, HUGS!!! Being a mom is so hard sometime but we are all here for you to cry, vent, scream, or just need some love :)

I'm sure you have thought of it but Make sure to change toothbrushes 24 hrs after starting antibiotics. I have kids also change again after a few days later. Sometimes that's how kids get reinfected.

Yes...we are on our 2nd set already. And tomorrow I will go and buy some more again. I am thinking I should just stock up, who knows how long this will last???:confused3

Thanks for reminding me!

I know I can book up to 3 rooms but I'm not sure how that works...they aren't staying the exact amount of nights and they arrive at a different time during the day...wouldn't we have to be there when they check in? :confused3

They did get 30% off with the spring discount though. Plus the discount on tickets.

Yay on the puppy!!!

Good luck on the taxes!!! And as far as I've seen, the AOA suites have been included in the discounts. :goodvibes
It's really easy. You have to book the room and it will be linked with yours but each reservation has its own number. Once it's booked, you don't have to do anything with it. You don't have to have the same types of rooms even (not sure about the same resort).

Melissa you are such a good mommy! How is Steven doing with the GF diet?

Hi RC family!!! I won't even to try to catch up right now. Today was a school meeting, lots of errands, a haircut for me :) and karate. This weekend is papers and packing!!!! I am so excited that I will be in WDW in less than a week! I asked DH if he knew what I was looking forward to most....he cracked up and said "not having to cook" and I added, "and no dishes" LOL!!! Sometimes it's the little things in life ;)

I'll catch tomorrow for sure!!!!

:goodvibesMelissa Soooo excited for you! Less than a week till WDW! Lucky you....have fun and remember to share it with your poor family back here wishing we where right there to share it with you! :goodvibes I'll have to live through you :p

PAS sorry to hear you're sick too! So much sickness going around! :crazy2: get well ASAP! My chest, cough, throat, ears.....it's all hurting right now! :scared: hope it doesn't last long! It's not fun at all :(

Wookie: I've heard some good things about El Dorado Royale in the Mexican Riviera. My hubby doesn't really like the thought of a Mexico trip, but maybe one day i'll talk him into trying there!:thumbsup2

Dani.... Now Disney I adore! Vegas?.......I'm not sure..... I've never been, but I admit night life and casinos doesn't really do much to interest me. However, some of those shows like Cirque Solei "O", or The Beatles... I would like to see that!

Linda :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 on new Puppy love! So happy to hear DH got a service Dog to take care of him!, your fur baby is adorable, I bet! :flower3: sure hope you can get some pics up of him....love the name :thumbsup2

Sheila: :thumbsup2 woohoo! pixiedust: for POLY! Can't wait to hear how you like it :)

My DL plans are a go in my head, now to try and save the 5K or so I'll need by next Feb! That's the challenge :crazy2: but, I'll definitely be trying! :thumbsup2

I am sorry. It was hard enough going through that with one child, let alone multiple.

I know I buy a bunch of cheap toothbrushes for winter for the colds etc. my kids think I'm nuts :confused3
Good luck

That's actually a really good idea.

I had never heard of it, until we booked our first WDW trip with the DSs. For that trip, I used a TA and she had talked about it. DH wouldn't go on a trip right now to Mexico either. He doesn't think it secure enough.

My DL plans are a go in my head, now to try and save the 5K or so I'll need by next Feb! That's the challenge :crazy2: but, I'll definitely be trying! :thumbsup2

You can do it!! I already have my Disney pig back up to almost $100. I have only been saving since Christmas since the DH guilt tripped me into using that money for his Christmas present.

Hi Janet, Ginny, Wookie and everyone else!:flower3:

Oh Jen!!

I am so sorry you are dealing with all of this!!! It really brings me back to the back to back ear infections for our oldest DD when she was an infant. It was stressful and sad. :sad2:

Prayers that your baby girls heal up real quick!!! :wizard:

Melissa... isn't your trip soon???? :woohoo:

75 more days until our trip!!!!:yay::dance3:

We are thinking about doing the Wishes dessert party for the first time, because I think our non-Disney friends would much prefer to watch from the terrace than from the crowds. :thumbsup2

They will be converted...muwaahahahahahah...
Though I am proud of my BFF, she has a spreadsheet and everything!!! :thumbsup2
And....she asked "if we wanted to go again next year...."

I'm thinking we will forego CL this time around as well.
Us too...it depends on the sticker price of course...with F&W we got our F&W at WS not the lounge :rotfl:

We do have some news here .... a little background first. July of 2011 we lost our 15 year old Golden Retriever and then in November 2012 my 16 year old Malamute passed away too. Congrats to you and DH on the new puppy!!!!!!:flower3: And welcome home Mama

I have one of those that knows she is adorable too. It's not good

And by the way, Holy Cannoli will be my new saying. Although, it's making me hungry!
Agreed...not good, and I love Holy Cannoli...and the way she says it, I crack up every time!

:rotfl: AoA for Spring break!! I like it! :beach:

(I feel my issues pale in comparison to many folks; just needed a quick vent to the ever-supportive RC-ears. :worship:)

I thought nurses weren't allowed to get sick? Poor you. Do you at least get a chance to lie down during breaks? When's your next day off, Monday?
Seriously... October? Like maybe toward the end, say? Around the 26th or so sounds like a good idea.
No issue in too big or too small for our family..(Superhero theme music..insert here)

Yes, there is a rule about nurses getting sick, ugh...I keep breaking those darn rules. Luckily it was a 24 hour bugaboo.

So the dates are looking like Oct 30 or Nov 1st ish to Nov 7ish, Jersey Week, attack of the Jersayans :p The kids would only miss 4 days of school :thumbsup2 I'll be home Sunday evening...although I am running home to shower around 3am inbetween jobs :crazy2:

Pas: So sorry you are sick....is someone taking care of you I hope?? What is this about spring AP rates???

Jen
Looked at Spring rates...DH is right (I hate it when it happens) if we want a vacation the longer to save up the better..I may be able to arrange MNSSHP and MVMCP this year :hyper: He wants F&W too...my Disney loving hubby is sneaking back pixiedust:

Another question for the RCer's.

I've been looking at pictures of the AoA suites. My DH even likes the idea of them. Does anyone know if the suites are usually included in the free dining offers?
They have been included in the RO offers and AP rates, so I think possibly for FD...unless they take values out of the FD mix as rumored

Pas, my dear friend, hope you feel better soon  Getting hit twice in the week with germies is no fair...
Glad you're back BFF  I am SO much better today. Slept all night, and got paid to do it!! :upsidedow

Melissa you'll be at WDW this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PAS sorry to hear you're sick too! So much sickness going around! get well ASAP! My chest, cough, throat, ears.....it's all hurting right now!
I am better already Marie! Now it's your turn to get well :flower3:

Good morning RC Family :goodvibes I am going to try to get caught up before Steven and I start working on his papers (one for this week and one for next). Then hopefully latter today I will pull out the suitcases and start getting organized.

Candace - you just might convert your BFF to a Disney addict too :rotfl: Is she the one that you are always tagged with on FB? I am sure you are all going to have a GREAT time!!!! And yes, we leave Wednesday :hyper:

Marie - First of all, why was your oil change soooo expensive??? I have a big V8 that takes synthetic oil and my oil changes aren't that much (and I know the conversion rate isn't that different right now). And secondly you know I will be sharing! I am toying with the idea of a TR this time since we will actually be there for more than 2 nights, but I have never done one and not sure if I can commit the time, but none the less I will be sure to post updates and pictures here and on FB ::yes::

Lacey - Steven has adjusted well to the GF diet, thankfully. I just wish we knew it was making a difference. Since all his reactions were internal we won't know anything until he has another endoscopy :rolleyes2 Any more thoughts on your spring break trip :confused3 I think the suites could work out well for all of you. Would either of the grandma's be able to help out with the drive?

Debrn - I try to keep a stockpile of toothbrushes too!

Jen - I hope everyone is hanging in there today and the meds are going down smoothly :flower3:

Wookie - I think the Nemo suites would be perfect for you! I think the suites look great, and I contemplated them myself. Are you going for your taxes today? Good luck!!!!

Janet - Oh no, I am sorry you were so sick this week :worried: Glad you are feeling back to yourself. I was in Boynton yesterday and wishing you were still in town so we could have grabbed a quick lunch :flower3:

Shelia - YAY on the Poly!!!! Did you book it yet?

Linda - congrats on the new furbaby! Oh and the hair cut and color must feel great after being away for so long :p

DetTigsGal - Yep, I get out of the house just about every day too, but thankfully this is the first vehicle that I am actually keeping my mileage down. It is just working out that way with the kids being in the same school and doing the same activities. My truck is 10 months old and I only have 9,000 miles and that includes 3 trips to Disney and 1 trip to the west coast of FL, so I am pretty happy, especially since I lease my truck ::yes::

Jeanette - Don't you know that mommies and nurses aren't allowed to get sick :crazy2:....I hope you are feeling a bit better and can find some time to rest during your shifts.

Well I know I am not totally caught up yet, but time to start working with Steven on his paper. Hope everyone has a great day!

Melissa

:goodvibes I feel much better Melissa. Luckily yesterday was a school day so just one kiddo home. DS4 took great care of me

Happy Saturday to all. Those who are not feeling well, hope you all are chipper soon :)

Janet B- grades are due on Monday, so J will know if he made it then. Band director told them after class yesterday, that it required a lot of thought and he was taking the weekend...he's just playing with them

Melissa- the jeep has a trip to Disney too, but for us that would be 2300 miles! It also had a 1600 round trip to take B back to college!

Hey guys, I am on fb, but since I don't know anyone's real name if you want to "be friends" pm me :)

Have a great rest of the weekend:). Yes, we have to go to a Super Bowl party...but I'm not watching :)

hello..
For those with sick kiddos that like to drink out of the same cup.....do you have any of the refillable mugs ..different places or covers and colors.??? Just an idea...like I said someplace else...I gave my nieces almost 30 of those cups and they use them when they go outside...and each kid has their own (and recognized) resort and/or color...

Okey ...AP rates were not for French Quarter or Movies...so my husband........Decided to look at All Star Music...we are four adults and we like to have a preferred room...so "HE" looked at this place...it looks okey..never been to this one...and we saved almost 300 dollars...so I did the change over..

The reason for Movies and French Quarter not on the list...is because these are very popular resorts and usually fill up without a discount...so they didnt do those..

We also "CHANGED" two of our dining reservations...

OY OY OY..

have a good day
